Manistee High School teachers Kristen Johnson and Amanda Clemons recently took a group of adventurous students from Manistee County on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Ecuador and the renowned Galapagos Islands. The teachers, known for their passion for exploration and education, organized an immersive experience that combined learning with exotic adventures.
The trip began in Ecuador, where the students had the opportunity to explore the vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes of the South American country. From hiking through lush rainforests to interacting with the friendly locals, the students were fully immersed in the rich diversity of Ecuador.
After the exploration of Ecuador, the group set sail to the iconic Galapagos Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its unique wildlife and pristine natural beauty. The students had the chance to witness exotic animals such as giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies up close, gaining a deeper appreciation for conservation and environmental stewardship.
As the trip came to an end, both students and teachers returned home with memories to last a lifetime, inspired by the wonders of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.
