(KRON) — A series of magnitude 2.6 to 3.5 earthquakes hit about near Pacifica Tuesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Southern Italy on Wednesday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

The quake's epicentre was in Montagano, near the city of Campobasso, and it occurred at a depth of around 23 km (14.3 miles), the INGV said.
