With every kiss, with every laugh and with every ‘hello, hello.’ I’m so in love with you, and so crazy in love with you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. There’s nothing I can do to right that wrong, but I want you to know that the last thing I wanted to do was to hurt you like that. “The love I feel for you is something I could never have imagined,” he said. “I love you so much. “I’ll find love somewhere, somehow,” she told Zach through tears, wishing him and Kaity all the happiness in the world. She had a feeling the day was going to turn out this way, and she didn’t want or need to hear any more of what Zach had to say. “My mind felt, which is wrong, that I needed to let everyone know that I went against my word. … All of our moments have been life changing, and there’s so much I love and adore about you. You deserve a man that picks you first every day.” And I don’t know where, like, fully I’m going to be in two days. Knowing you and falling in love with you has made me a better man. (“On track,” of course, being a relative term with this franchise.)
The tech executive popped the question after a dramatic season.
I want to spend the rest of my life with you,'" he said. [Zach Shallcross](https://www.etonline.com/people/zach-shallcross)' journey for love has come to an end. "When I saw her at the last chance date, I saw her and I thought to myself, 'It's you. You're the only one I want in my life... "But we have talked about it and we're thinking about in 2025. You are my world." "You're the face I want to wake up to every morning. I want to go through life with you and only you. I'm so in love with you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." [Zach Shallcross](https://www.etonline.com/people/zach-shallcross) has found his happy ending! During Monday's finale, Kaity's feelings for Zach only grew after a near-perfect meeting with his family.
After 10 weeks of playing the reality TV dating field and saying hello to 30 contestants before saying goodbye to 28 of them, Zach Shallcross finally got down ...
Shallcross walked her back to her car, and offered up a quiet “sorry,” to which she firmly told him, “I don’t need an apology. “Because Kaitlyn, I am so in love with you. It’s been really hard, and I can no longer say that I’m falling in love with you,” he told her, taking a longer-than-necessary pause to gain a reality TV fake-out moment. I stuck around thinking, maybe it’s all the things you fear, maybe it’s all the things you hate about yourself, maybe it’s not your gut. But Biggar, a 27-year-old ER nurse, seemed confident meeting his family, too, and she hit it off with them just as much as Elnicki did. Even she wasn’t so sure about that, kicking off the finale with concerns that Shallcross might have regretted their earlier night of passion.

Because Kaity, I am so in love with you. She said they have "phenomenal communication and loyalty." "I can no longer say I’m falling in love with you. I want to be with you forever," Zach said in response. According to Kaity, yes. It’s always been the same — picking up the pieces of my heart off the ground,” Kaity said.

Palmer invited Biggar (and her disco ball engagement ring) to join Shallcross on stage after the finale concluded and the two confirmed they’re still together and they’ve managed to successfully navigate Shallcross’ Fantasy Suite faux pas. After an emotional beach breakup with Elnicki, Shallcross proposed to Biggar, a 27-year-old ER nurse from Austin, Texas, and she said “ABSOLUTELY.” According to Jesse Palmer, that means Shallcross is the first Bachelor lead to get engaged since Peter Weber in Season 24. Zach Shallcross did get engaged during the Season 27 finale. On Monday night’s Bachelor finale, we watched Shallcross, Biggar, and Elnicki embark on their final romantic dates.
On the Season 27 finale of 'The Bachelor,' Zach Shallcross chose between Kaity Biggar and Gabi Elnicki. Find out who Zack gave away his final rose to.
“I did mess up and I wish I could make that better.” “This whole process was very accelerated, very quick,” Shallcross said. I was disappointed in the way that I was left completely not knowing anything from Zach.” “You had ample time to also tell me about everything before I left.” “I really made it one-sided and that was very selfish of me,” he said. “I was really disappointed in the way the whole week was handled. “I should have not been left in the dark,” Frenkel said. Frenkel — a fan-favorite contestant who brought Jewish culture and her New York City lifestyle to “The Bachelor” this season — was sent home last week after her “fantasy suite” date where Shallcross said he had a no sex rule and told her that he wouldn’t be sleeping with any of the women. There’s nothing I can do to right that wrong, but I want you to know that the last thing I wanted to do was to hurt you like that. I want to go through life with you and only you. “The way I handled things was completely wrong,” Shallcross said, apologizing to Elnicki. “You deserve a man that picks you first every day.”

"I wish you would have just sent me home and saved me all the pain that just went on and on. And by "that" Gabi means the final day of filming, which consists of prepping a Proposal Day speech and going through "hours and hours and hours of interviews," and so on. "But I feel so good that the right thing is going to happen." "I don't want to hear it!" "I hope that my heart's leading me in the right way." "I want to try to fix and alleviate the mistake I made," says Zach. "I hope that I can be somebody that makes you happy for the rest of your life." "I didn't realize it until I was in there talking to your sisters," she adds. "I just want you to understand that you took away my agency in that night and that conversation," she says. "No!" "I think by putting sex off the table, you made the entire week about sex, and it didn't need to be like that."

The March 27 finale of The Bachelor found Zach Shallcross down to his final two contenders: Gabi and Kaity. Find out if things ended with an engagement.
Maybe it's all the things you hate about yourself. When it actually matters when Kaity arrives, don't do that to her." I stuck around thinking, 'Maybe it's just all the things you fear. "Where have you been? Upon exiting the van to meet Zach at the altar, Gabi joked, "That's a really muddy spot. "I have literally waited for you my entire life," she told her new fiancé.
Without missing a beat, Palmer dutifully pivoted from sending thoughts and prayers to Nashville to introducing yet another Most Dramatic Bachelor Finale Ever— ...
Nonetheless, the clip played on as if none of the preceding moments had happened, and the audience happily clapped as Shallcross and Biggar discussed their plans to move to Austin. In my mind, it was just this secret that I had to not have, but in reality it was much more than that.” Before long, however, it was time for Palmer to pivot once more. I thought it was more than a TV show. During the finale, Elnicki confronted Shallcross for revealing on screen that they had been intimate after privately promising discretion. I know that I went against my word, and in reality, it hurt you. Elnicki became tearful as she spoke with Shallcross during the live finale discussion. I thought it was love. There was nothing unusual about the shift to Shallcross’s engagement story, but somehow, the moment felt particularly tactless. [uneventful](https://www.thedailybeast.com/obsessed/the-zach-shallcross-the-bachelor-season-is-more-boring-than-ever-before). There were some limo entrances here, many shots of our Bachelor Zach Shallcross showering there, and, inevitably, one [racism scandal](https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-bachelor-faces-racism-scandal-after-greer-blitzers-blackface-apology). After one date with Ariel Frenkel, however, Shallcross chose to be intimate with finalist Gabriella “Gabi” Elnicki and, subsequently, season winner Kaity Biggar.
The spread will be in People magazine later today, and you can expect the joint breakup statement to hit Instagram in four to six months.
He’s going to wear a wig and a fake mustache and be “undercover brother” for the evening! This used to be a 10-minute segment of the finale, and here it was barely 15 seconds. The happy couple joins Jesse in the studio to run through the FAQ. “Because you feel those emotions and…” she trails off, I assume because it would be unattractive for her to say, “It’s worse watching it back because now I know I’m not the Bachelorette.” When Jesse finally stops her to remind her this is live television and Zach needs a chance to respond, like he did with Ariel, he takes responsibility for his shittiness and apologizes. When Gabi gets her time to confront Zach, she explains that he humiliated her by making her go through the motions of that proposal day instead of just kindly sending her home. Zach starts talking about their beautiful journey, and when he gets to the “but,” she stops him. He keeps apologizing and telling her she has part of his heart, and homegirl is just trying to get back to the car ASAP. I don’t know where I’m going to be in two days, but I feel so good that the right thing is going to happen.” Gabi turns cold. The waterfall is pretty, nothing happens, and it’s on to the nighttime portion of the date, where nothing happens again. The door opens, and we see the hem of a yellow dress. Her whole thing—and the theme of this finale—is “Gabi has doubts.”
After multiple seasons of upheaval, producers finally found a lead who would do everything they said—including break a woman's heart on national TV.
Gabi unloads; she says that before cameras returned the morning after, Zach told her, “This is just between us,” and that she felt blindsided when he used her name in discussing with others why he felt guilty. “You took away my agency and my ability to even have a conversation,” Ariel says. This time we got almost none of it—just a quick shot of Gabi’s neon-yellow gown, which was enough for us to know immediately that she’d be getting dumped the second the van door opened and she stepped her gold stiletto heel into the mud. She tells him that she feels like “an accessory to a crime” and asks Zach whether he regrets sleeping with her. “I wish you would have just sent me home and saved me all the pain that just went on and on,” Gabi says during “After the Final Rose.” “I thought it was love. “If Zach knew how he felt about me, he would say it,” Gabi says as she breaks down in tears. But as Zach stuck to the Bachelor script, his finale was a reminder that while this show has been sold to us for decades as a story about love, at its core it’s a show about heartbreak and emotional manipulation, with a finale format that is especially cruel. He says he doesn’t, and he appeases her by explaining that she “opened his eyes” and made him experience humanlike emotions. Somehow, that’s good enough for Gabi, and she opts to stay with Zach instead of listening to her gut and telling him to kick rocks. He immediately told production what had happened when cameras were off, hurt Gabi’s feelings when he couldn’t keep their private moment a secret, and hurt Kaity’s feelings by explicitly telling her something she assumed had happened but didn’t want to know. That outcome was pretty clear to even unspoiled viewers for weeks; even Gabi seemed to know it, and at no point in Monday’s live three-hour finale did host Jesse Palmer even try to tease that there would be a shocking twist. They needed a Bachelor who would revere The Bachelor Process, from the limo entrances of Night 1 all the way to a proposal in Monday’s finale.
All our conspiracy theories were proven correct: Kaity won, Ariel knew nothing, and Zach told Gabi to keep their tryst a secret. A recap of the finale and ...
The rewards for going on The Bachelor are [lower than ever](https://www.thecut.com/2023/03/bachelor-season-27-finale-what-is-the-point.html), and this exemplifies it perfectly: Now, all Gabi has is a broken heart, a public narrative about her sex life, and one Jesse Palmer promising that she’ll find the love of her life “soon.” At least she has some new Instagram followers? She thought she was the chosen one, but she was actually just a meter for Zach’s horniness. Apparently she did too, because the minute she steps out of the car in a shockingly yellow number, she lands in a puddle of mud and tells the driver, “When it actually matters and Kaity gets here, don’t do that to her.” Who tipped her off? She tells Jesse that while she had a lot of self-doubt, she didn’t quite believe Zach would put her through all that torture just to not choose her. On the other hand, Gabi knew going in this could be in the cards, but led herself to believe that they shared a connection that could overcome the bounds of reality television (that’s what they want you to think). During the night portion of the date, she reiterates that she’s in love with him, while he reiterates that he can’t decide between Kaity and her best friend. No, he wouldn’t have been so honest with Gabi and Kaity that he doesn’t know who to choose; no, he wouldn’t have slept with Gabi; and no, he wouldn’t have worn that pink-and-blue button-down, Zach, what the hell were you thinking? She doesn’t want to hear the “but.” Every time Zach tries to break up with her, she just says, “CAN YOU STOP TALKING?” Zach knew what was gonna happen here. Throughout this entire season, Zach had a bracelet that said “WWSLD?” and Sean basically confirms that he would have done the exact opposite. Zach tells his family that he immediately had a spark with Gabi (don’t remember that) and that she’s confident in their relationship. He also pauses a moment to honor the victims of the Nashville shooting, but that moment lasts approximately 0.1 seconds because, apparently, we have too much to contain in Three. Kaity won in perfectly vanilla fashion, Ariel knew nothing during last week’s rose ceremony, and Zach explicitly told Gabi to keep their tryst a secret, knowing full well he was about to discuss their sex life with one Jesse Palmer (and the rest of Bachelor Nation).
Though she was easily the season's MVP, Gabi Elnicki failed to secure the final rose—or even a worthy exit on the show's live finale.
After an egregiously sleepy season (even Neil Lane and Shallcross’s famous uncle Patrick Warburton skipped town), an energizing contestant with both legitimate heartbreak and a clear-eyed view of reality TV’s need for drama should’ve been a slam dunk choice for a lead. Upon meeting his parents, Shallcross emphasized the total “confidence” Elnicki felt in their connection, while she appeared to be on far shakier ground during interviews, telling producers, “I have a gut feeling—it’s not me.” Elnicki wasn’t afforded any time to respond to Shallcross’s apology or shed light on her current state of mind. Then—instead of allowing Elnicki and Shallcross the space to step out of the narrative and approach something resembling reality—the segment ended. There was an obvious shadow hanging after the events of last week’s episode, when Shallcross reneged on his public vow to abstain from physical intimacy during fantasy suites (which he went ahead and called “sex week”). I think if it were me, I’d know it was me,” she told Palmer. This finale would include the first Bachelor proposal since Peter Weber in 2020, as Palmer pointed out early on. Just what a finalist wants to hear the night that millions will watch her be dumped on live TV! Lowe made multiple appearances throughout the season, including an extended segment on After the Final Rose with his wife, Catherine Guidici. She was always going to be a pawn in producers’ vision for the season, which was mirrored after that of franchise golden boy Sean Lowe, the last Bachelor to end up with the woman he proposed to on the show. Elnicki was betrayed by this disclosure, saying multiple times that she felt as if she were wearing a scarlet letter. During the pair’s final date, audio on the ABC broadcast abruptly cut out, leaving viewers in complete silence for several minutes before the commercial break.
Zach also shared how he feels about his fiancée's friendship with his ex.
It was a no-brainer." When I was watching it, I honestly, genuinely, was tearing up," she said. "Gabi and I, as well as the other girls too, we continue to uplift and support each other, and I feel like that's never going to stop... "Hopefully on a beach with my toes in the sand. "I just wanted her to know that that was never my intention, to hurt anyone." "When I was watching it, I felt for Gabi, to be honest. All I wanted to do was act with honesty, because I knew I had messed up, and I saw the pain that had caused Gabi. And then I was like, 'Wait, she's here.'" "And then I was worried. I saw the pain that had caused Kaity and "I never want there to be this false narrative, but from what I said, it was true," he said. "The beauty of reality TV and editing.
