Memphis athletics said it will cooperate with Bowling Green university police after a Tigers women's basketball player struck a Bowling Green player.

Bowling Green's next game is Monday hosting Florida in the WNIT Great 8. Brett was on the ground for a few moments before being helped up and walking off the court on her own power. “The incident that occurred following Thursday’s women’s basketball game was extremely unfortunate and certainly not consistent with, or representative of, our expectations for our programs and student-athletes," the statement read.

Shutes is also a senior and was a second-team All-AAC selection this season. Officials also said Brett is "recovering and doing well" despite experiencing some swelling in her right eye. She led Memphis in scoring on the year with 15.3 points per game and finished Thursday's game with 13 points and four rebounds.
