Drew Timme's surprising avoidance of cursing drew laughs (Awful Announcing)

The men's and women's NCAA basketball tournaments have seen lots of cursing, including from Drew Timme. But Timme pivoted Thursday.

What the FCC really cares about, and really fines people for, is misuse of [emergency](https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/fcc-fine-espn-eas-2011-documentary.html) [alert](https://awfulannouncing.com/fox/fcc-fox-fine-eas-tones-nfl-sunday-promo.html) tones. Why Drew Timme's final collegiate act is worthy of everyone's attention (FOXSports.com)

Drew Timme is one of the most polarizing players in college basketball, but like him or not, it's impossible to ignore his presence on and off the court.

UCLA [UConn's run to Elite Eight shows power of talent, toughness and identity](https://www.foxsports.com/stories/college-basketball/uconns-run-to-elite-eight-shows-power-of-talent-toughness-and-identity) [Texas vs. The scrap in the middle between Timme and Huskies big man [Adama Sanogo](https://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/adama-sanogo-player) will be worth watching in itself. Or maybe he wouldn’t, because with him, it is always a mystery. "With Drew you never know what is next," Few added. Come on, who wears mismatched socks and those head-scratching outfits, yet still possesses the kind of fiery intensity needed to thrive at this level? As a freshman, Timme benefited from battling against 2019-20 West Coast Conference Player of the Year Filip Petrusev in practice. It was indeed against UCLA, yet another Timme tournament masterpiece, even with a pair of missed free throws that briefly allowed UCLA to snatch back a late lead. For he is a player built for college basketball success, like others before him who were absolute standouts at this level but couldn’t have the same impact in the Association. Timme’s attributes are a nightmare for opposing college coaches to try to handle, but are less suited for the NBA. For a 6-foot-10 big man, Timme doesn't possess the type of athleticism and inside-out game the NBA desires. Mark Few’s Gonzaga team is 121-12 since Timme joined the program.

It's not often that a college basketball player gets trolled on social media for a 36-point double-double in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.

Ironically, this season may not be the last for Drew Timme in college. With the Bulldogs up 75-73 in the final minute of the game, Timme missed two free throws. Thanks in large part to Timme, Gonzaga overcame a 13-point deficit to reach the Elite Eight for the fifth time in the last eight Thursday night’s Sweet 16 matchup with UCLA is Timme’s 133rd game in a Gonzaga uniform.
