The Jets traded the former No. 34 draft pick to the Browns but now have a second, second-round pick at their disposal.
As mentioned, the Jets will miss Moore, but they still have plenty of talent at the receiver position. The acquisition of Moore was one that will help the Browns immensely. The Jets sent Moore to the Browns along with the 74th overall pick in the draft. Ultimately, this deal should help the Jets in their quest to land Rodgers. However, Cleveland is also acquiring a receiver who will only be 23 by the start of the 2023 season. New York and Cleveland will swap 2023 draft picks as a part of the deal.
The Browns have sent their second-round pick to the New York Jets in order to acquire receiver Elijah Moore and a third-round pick.
In the 11 games he did play, he was targeted 77 times with 43 catches for 538 yards and five touchdowns. Those additions, a run-in with his coaches during last season, as well as 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson and the re-emergence of Corey Davis, all have played a role in Moore being available. David Bell struggled to get consistent targets as a rookie third-round pick out of Purdue, while injuries hampered the abilities of rookie Michael Woods II and second-year pro Anthony Schwartz to get on the field consistently a year ago.
Elijah Moore had been looking for a new home since the early stages of the 2022-23 season. The New York Jets have finally obliged the disgruntled youngster.

The New York Jets continue to make moves ahead of impending Rodgers deal, trading Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns for a 2023 NFL Draft pick swap.
Elijah Moore was a player that had heavy interest from the NFL in the 2021 NFL Draft and plenty of backing from the draft sphere. As the tweet below mentions, the Jets get pick 42 in the 2023 NFL Draft in the deal, and the Browns get Moore and pick 74 in this year’s draft. With an impending Aaron Rodgers deal awaiting them, the New York Jets continue to make moves.

He clocked in at 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his pro day with Ole Miss in 2021, which led him to become the 34th overall pick by the Jets.

The Browns now have two picks in each of the third, fourth and fifth rounds. The Browns saw their options dwindling and saw the fit with the Jets as far as price and need, and the end result was a trade that made sense for both sides. But the reality was that the Browns’ cap situation, dearth of quality picks over the next two seasons and lack of strong options at No. The Browns aren’t going to be a three- and four-wide offense all the time, but they needed more downfield threats — and they were always looking for more explosion and quickness so that when Watson escapes the pocket, receivers can break off their original routes and force defenses to chase both the quarterback and his targets. The second is that almost everybody is looking for receivers with top-level speed and explosion, which is why the Browns were getting more desperate by the hour. Receivers, therefore, have to be on the same page at all times and willing to take the criticism that comes with playing alongside veterans. A trade like this for a player that is only 22 years old is a very clear message to the fanbase and the rest of the roster. Growing pains on the field won’t be accepted either – so is the life of a championship-contending football team. Instead, the Jets have swung for the fences, and are now as close to being a contending team as they have ever been. But requesting a trade in the middle of a three-game winning streak isn’t a good look for any player, let alone one not even two full seasons into his NFL career. Gang Green hasn’t been to the playoffs for 12 seasons and three separate rebuilds have come with little hope in sight from any of the plans.

Moore, who was traded to the Browns on Wednesday, played alongside four different quarterbacks during his time with the Jets.
In a since-deleted post on Twitter, he said he didn't understand his lack of usage. “Someone who’s as mobile as him, people fear with his legs as well, it just adds another element just to the whole game,” Moore said. It appears Moore was eying the exit door for a while. “Going through four quarterbacks I feel like was just a huge blessing for me because I got to see what that’s like," he said. He racked up a combined 80 catches for 984 yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons. Moore says he is looking forward to playing alongside quarterback Deshaun Watson in Cleveland.
