[BAFTAs](https://luxurylondon.co.uk/culture/baftas-2023-red-carpet-best-dressed/) and, if Vanessa Hudgens’ timeless (literally, it’s vintage) [Chanel](https://luxurylondon.co.uk/style/the-homes-and-locations-that-inspired-coco-chanel/) strapless gown is anything to go by, may be a hit at the Oscars too. The fit of the jacket doesn’t seem quite right – a little low in the lapel and a little tight at the buttons – but, in truth, he still looks great. Clearly no one told Jessica Chastain – who came to the Oscars dressed as the award itself in a shimmering Gucci gown. The kimono influence is clear, even down to the single shawl lapel, and ditching classic black in favour of navy was a masterstroke. She’s been in the game long enough to know how to work a red carpet and, while the thigh slit and glittery rosettes could be awkward on a newcomer, her pitch perfect styling (check out those Jimmy Choo platforms) and execution carries them off with ease. Peach satin, on the other hand, is a tricky fabric – especially on a man of Johnson’s stature. This look has potential but it feels a little lopsided: the bralet is too plain and flimsy to holds its own against the heaviness of that sleeve and the fit around the waist is off. The asymmetry suits her although the second flower at the shoulder may have been overkill – a pair of killer earrings would have served her better. That pale yellow is gorgeous on her and the jewellery is incredible. Last year’s Best Supporting Actress winner Ariana DeBose attended the 2023 Oscars as a presenter and brought with her all the glitz and glam you would expect of someone raised in musical theatre. Michelle Yeoh took home the gong for Best Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once – and was an absolute vision while doing so. The last great hurrah in the awards season calendar: the Oscars 2023 is finally here.

Oscars 2023: The Best Beauty Looks From The Dolby Red Carpet (EVOKE)

There was much to digest from the beauty looks at the Oscars 2023 from the red carpet of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The end of awards.

Wearing a peachy lip with her true blue silk gown, she looked like the award-winner that is, sadly Someone else who plays with makeup looks endlessly, it worked with the couture Versace gown she wore on the red carpet. Zoe Saldana also rocked a low-key beauty look for the Oscars 2023. The singer wore her hair in an updo and there was more than one of those on the night, a new micro-trend perhaps? Cut into a sharp and short bob and left naturally curly, everything from the colour to how tousled it just looks incredible. She could be on a runway, but Cara Delevingne looked 100% Hollywood royalty at the Oscars 2023.

Oscars fashion: bridal colours dominate as red carpet is scrapped (The Guardian)

Stars such as Michelle Yeoh and Halle Berry wore white to match a champagne carpet but not every star got the memo on its change of colour.

Sleeves – not frequently spotted in the glamorous world of the red carpet – sneaked in thanks to a colder weather system in LA. The change to the colour of the carpet was made because the area for photographs was sheltered rather than outside this year and red was thought to be too dark for pictures. [Oscars](https://www.theguardian.com/film/oscars) is seen as the peak of red carpet dressing, the Academy changed things up for 2023 – with a champagne-coloured carpet. Melissa McCarthy, Blanchett and Rihanna – in a floorlength leather gown by Alaïa – wore long sleeves, while Nicole Kidman’s asymmetric Armani design partially committed to the trend. “I knew I wanted to wear something that would include the slogan of Iran’s freedom fighters,” Jamie Lee Curtis wore a long crystal gown the colour of champagne, while Michelle Yeoh wore a tiered white strappy gown by Christian Dior.

Oscars 2023: Why did the Academy change the red carpet to ... (Economic Times)

Oscars 2023 witnessed the replacement of the red carpet with a champagne-coloured one, breaking a 62 year record.

However, this year's Oscars deviated from the traditional red carpet and opted for a champagne-coloured one, which garnered attention. The views expressed here are that of the respective authors/ entities and do not represent the views of Economic Times (ET). Earlier, the daytime temperature was inconvenient for attendees who were heavily dressed for an event of that magnitude. But, this year, the Oscars used a champagne-coloured carpet instead, which made some fans curious about the reason for the change. Lisa Love, who has experience in organizing glamorous events like the Met Gala, described the colour as "sand" and believed that it would add a soothing effect to the atmosphere. In ancient Greece, red carpets were only used for kings and queens during important events.

Oscars after-party looks that were better than red-carpet outfits (INSIDER)

Celebrities walked the 2023 Academy Awards red carpet in stunning outfits, but some stars wore better looks at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Pugh arrived at the Academy Awards in a Valentino dress with a sweetheart neckline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a full skirt. The "Avatar" star paired a sheer, gold crop top with a low-waisted, floor-length skirt from Michael Kors Collection. But she looked like a winner when she arrived at the Vanity Fair party in a form-fitting Giorgio Armani Privé gown. It was also sleeveless and covered in sequins, but its multicolored floral print created a stained-glass effect that was unlike anything else at the after-party. She first made an appearance at the Oscars in a sleeveless, silver dress from Louis Vuitton. But her second dress from the designer was arguably even better. It had a ruched bodice, thigh-high slit, and oversized bow at her shoulder. The strapless gown had a cutout on the bodice covered in black sheer fabric that was accentuated by an oversized black rosette on her waist, and the entire garment was covered in a colorful pattern. But somehow, her after-party look was even better. But his second look from the designer — a blazer, satin blouse with a long bow, and slacks — was undoubtedly his best look of the night. Monáe's first dress, which was custom-made by Vera Wang, had a strapless bodice with a plunging neckline and a neon-orange skirt that wrapped around the waist. Janelle Monáe wore a stunning gown at the Oscars but saved their best dress for the Vanity Fair after-party.
