Preview: Nuggets finish season series with Grizzlies (Denver Stiffs)

After a couple of days of rest, the Denver Nuggets (44-19) are in action tonight as they're welcoming the Memphis Grizzlies (38-23) to town for the third ...

If the Nuggets can get a couple of calls to go their way early in the game, that will open up a whole lot of real estate when they’re around the basket. With Steven Adams still dealing with his knee injury, the Grizzlies’ defense is largely anchored by the top Defensive Player of the Year candidate Jaren Jackson Jr. Option one is allowing him to score at will while shutting off passing lanes and denying the ball to everyone else on the floor. In the matchup last weekend, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., who have been two of the NBA’s hottest shooters over the last month, were abysmal. Of their 19 remaining games, nine of them are at home, where Denver has been strong all year, and they’ll want to protect that home-court advantage. Despite injuries, they’re finding ways to get production out of a variety of lineups, and they continue to chug along with a 5.0 game lead over the Grizzlies.

NBA Odds: Grizzlies vs. Nuggets prediction, pick, how to watch – 3/3 ... (ClutchPoints)

An epic matchup awaits between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Denver Nuggets. Let's check out our NBA odds series, where our Grizzlies-Nuggets prediction and ...

After getting pummeled by the Grizzlies on Memphis’ home floor last weekend, the Nuggets will try to give the ‘Grizz a taste of their own medicine with arguably the best home-court advantage that the NBA has to offer. While a win over the second-seed Grizzlies would most likely almost guarantee a clinching of home-court advantage throughout the postseason as the one-seed, the Nuggets’ best odds of covering the spread in this one will be to dominate the paint. Above all else, it will be extremely important for the Nuggets to not let the Grizzlies heat up from beyond the arc. If Memphis wants any shot in this one, they will need to not only let Denver get into a rhythm from the three-point line but also by making life difficult down low for Jokic and company with some double-team efforts to force some much-needed turnovers. Entering play as five-point underdogs, the one thorn in the side of the Grizzlies this season has been their inconsistent play while on the road. After a rough stretch that saw the Grizzlies lose eight of nine games near the end of January, Memphis has gone 6-2 since and will attempt to climb their way back at a chance at the number-one overall seed with a win.

NBA picks: Grizzlies vs. Nuggets prediction, odds, over/under ... (DraftKings Nation)

We go over some of the best betting options for Friday's matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets.

As mentioned above, 234 points for Grizzlies-Nuggets is the third highest total on the board through 10 games on Friday. Give me the under again. However, the natural home court advantage for the Nuggets at Ball Arena (not just the raucous fan base, but the playing altitude of 5,280 feet) is enough for me to lean into Denver. The combined point total is set at 234, which is the third highest total of Friday night’s 10-game slate. The Nuggets are 21-10-1 ATS at home. With approximately 20 regular season games left to play, Memphis remains five games back of Denver and can gain valuable ground in a crowded conference if the Grizzlies can pull off the road upset at Ball Arena.

There may be questions about whether they can win in the playoffs, but it's clear by now this team is built to excel in the regular season. That would be a difficult deficit to overcome at any point in the season, but it's pretty much impossible with only 18 games remaining for the Nuggets and 20 left for the Grizzlies. The Nuggets now have a six-game lead over the Grizzlies in the race for the one-seed. Even if the Grizzlies caught fire, which may be possible given their schedule the rest of the way, they'd need the 45-19 Nuggets to fall apart. "It was an important game to win, especially at home in front of the best fans. With that, the Nuggets are now 25-0 this season when Jokic records a triple-double.

.. That fourth quarter was, by far, one of our best fourth quarters of the season, against a really good basketball team.” The Nuggets didn’t make a 3-pointer until Bruce Brown connected with 3:34 left in the second quarter. “He came from half court and the dude (Konchar) was already at the free-throw line. It was an ugly game at that point but the Nuggets’ ferocious defense kept them in the game even when they couldn’t hit open shots. Denver Nuggets Fine With One Seed in the West (DNVR)

Memphis needed it. Denver got it. Nikola Jokić - A+ The Memphis Grizzlies are well-equipped to stop anyone, even without Steven Adams.

His four rebounds and three blocks looked great in the box score and even better watching live. His defensive effort and fight on the glass kept Denver in a contest that could easily have swung in another direction. He won the other DPOG chain, but he deferred, passing the chain to Jamal Murray instead. And Porter was one of the very best players on the court. The Nuggets followed his blueprint to success and ran the Grizzlies off the floor in the second half. He chased him all the way down the sideline and over to the bench as the Grizzlies called timeout. Denver can afford occasional cold streaks from him, given his limited role and commitment to impacting the game in other areas. Still, he doesn’t have to be at his best to make a difference in this lineup. Thomas Bryant rolled his ankle and left the game early. He dropped 15 in the fourth, turning a tough battle into a late blowout. The MVP did some of everything as Denver secured the tiebreaker over the two-seed. Arguably the league’s best defense took a great approach, rode a big wave of shot luck, and held Denver to just 50 points in the first half.

There's going to be only one way for Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets to get any basketball respect: Win it.

We viewed that stipulation as unnecessary red tape, but didn’t blame the government officials in charge at the time for one final bit of balderdash my mom refused to let stop her. I hope you are the next to go, you woke SOB. You were not there to comfort your mother on her deathbed because of your woke beliefs, Kiz. I asked if you still worked there, and the lady said she would get back to me on that. Kiz: The Clippers in the first round would be an intriguing matchup for Denver, and I suspect more than one talking head on ESPN would pick Los Angeles to win the series. I don’t think this will be a good team, but predict the Rockies will still be able to say they’ve never lost 100 games after this year.
