Warriors hoping Steph Curry will return from injury next week (ClutchPoints)

The Golden State Warriors are expecting Stephen Curry back from injury soon, and Shams Charania laid out the plan for his return.

It seems like this Sunday against the Lakers might be a tad too optimistic, though we can’t rule it out. The Warriors face the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, and the Clippers have gone 0-3 since acquiring Russell Westbrook. Now, the Warriors reportedly have this plan rolled out, and it’s terrific news for a team that has missed their star player. After the All-Star Break, the Warriors provided an update and said he was making “good progress” in hopes of returning to the court soon. Warriors news: GSW signs Lester Quiñones (Golden State of Mind)

The Golden State Warriors signed G League player Lester Quiñones to a 10-day contract.

If the Warriors want to play either on Thursday when they host the [Los Angeles Clippers](https://www.clipsnation.com), they need to add a 15th player to the roster ... According to Slater, Quiñones still has a lot of believers in the Warriors front office, and his play this year could be setting him up for a two-way contract next year. [Tuesday’s comeback win](https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2023/2/28/23619814/warriors-blazers-final-score-recap-klay-thompson-jordan-poole) over the [Portland Trail Blazers](https://www.blazersedge.com), Anthony Lamb (47 games) and Ty Jerome (43 games) have combined to play 90 games. But here’s where the quirk comes in: teams can only use their two-way contracts for 90 games if their roster isn’t full. Players on two-way contracts are allowed to play in 50 regular season games. The reason for the signing is both simple and silly.

Warriors' Stephen Curry could return to team next week: report (Fox News)

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly expecting All-Star guard Stephen Curry to return to the team sometime during their three-game road trip next week.

He has had to deal with injuries prior to this one, though, including a shoulder subluxation that forced him out of 11 straight games from Dec. 16 to Jan. The Warriors have gone 5-4 since Curry has been out, which has maintained their playoff position as the fifth seed in the Western Conference. "We’ll just have to wait and see the results.… "Any time a guy gets an MRI, there’s a concern level," head coach Steve Kerr said post-game at the time, via ESPN. Curry’s X-ray was initially negative, but his MRI results clearly showed something the Warriors didn’t like.

How Warriors' reported Lester Quinones signing affects Ty Jerome ... (NBC Sports Bay Area)

The Warriors reportedly plan to sign Lester Quiñones to a 10-day contract, a move that has implications for two-way players Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb.

Eventually, Golden State will have to make a decision on Lamb and Jerome. The Warriors are expected to sign Lamb or Jerome as the 15th member of their roster, whichever one the front office foresees will have a bigger role in the playoff rotation. The Warriors have kept their 15th roster spot open all season.

Golden State Warriors sign G League guard to ensure Lamb/Jerome ... (Blue Man Hoop)

Signing Lester Quinones to a 10-day contract has little to do with him, but more so the effect on the Golden State Warriors' two-way players.

A team that only has 14 players on its roster is limited to 90 combined games from their two-way players. However, with a plethora of guards already on the roster, one would question why Golden State feel the need to add another inexperienced one that will be well down the pecking order. The 6’5″ guard was previously on a two-way contract with the team over training camp, before losing that spot to the more experienced Ty Jerome.

Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry nearing return from leg injury (Blue Man Hoop)

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry could be back for the Golden State Warriors in the next week as he recovers from a left leg injury.

Golden State will hope that Curry becomes available for their three-game road trip starting Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers. The reigning champions have back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans to round out their five-game home stand. The 34-year-old’s seen has been marred by injury despite the impressive numbers, having already missed 24 of the team’s 62 games.

How Warriors' reported 10-day deal with Quinones helps Lamb ... (The Mercury News)

The deal helps them extend their decision window on two-way players Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb, too.

They converted Juan Toscano-Anderson’s two-way contract and promptly signed him to a two-year deal in May 2021. He had an underwhelming camp and was dropped in favor of more experienced NBA players Lamb and Jerome for two-way deals. Two-way contracts do not count against the salary cap, while a converted contract filling a roster spot does. Quinones is tearing up the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors this year.
