Two poor road performances in a row had Hawkeye fans anxious about Tuesday's trip to Assembly Hall. But the Hawkeyes were the aggressors early and never trailed ...

A win against Nebraska plus a loss by either by Northwestern, Maryland or Michigan will secure a top-4 seed, and there's a chance for the Hawkeyes to finish as high as second. Iowa's final test came at the 11:12 mark when Murray and Rebraca sat on the bench with three fouls each and Iowa holding a 66-45 lead. Murray briefly silenced the crowd with a 3-pointer that extended Iowa's lead to 50-38 at the 18:54 mark, and from there either he or Perkins scored or assisted on Iowa's next six baskets, which came in succession after the initial turnovers. And we got the stops we needed." As a team, the Hawkeyes recored more 3-pointers in the first half (7) than their previous two road games combined (6) against Northwestern and Wisconsin. The fact that we were able to get (the lead) back to double digits and extend it from there is certainly what you want as a coach but the guys showed incredible resiliency there. "(My teammates) know when I'm into the game I'm talking and playing hard," Perkins said. "I thought our ball movement and screening and cutting with a purpose was critical. The rest of the team fed off of that energy and the Perkins/Murray duo powered Iowa to a 47-36 halftime lead. And it certainly did in the first half as Iowa had a blistering start on offense. "We came into practice the next day and got right to it with the same mindset. The fact we out-rebounded them (by 12) showed how we competed but you hit 13 threes on the road, you have a good chance to win."

IU basketball ran off own court in brutal loss to Iowa: 'That was a ... (The Indianapolis Star)

Three days after Indiana's best road win in years, the Hoosiers got run out of their own gym 90-68 by Iowa on Tuesday night.

Assists_Iowa 19 (Perkins 8), Indiana 11 (Jackson-Davis 5). Rebounds_Iowa 37 (Perkins 10), Indiana 27 (Jackson-Davis 13). Its fate firmly in its hands in any number of ways — a Big Ten tournament double bye, a protected NCAA tournament seed, the right momentum at the right time — Indiana laid down. Tuesday doesn’t end this season, but this is not the time of year for gut checks. The Hoosiers have to pick themselves back up honestly and rapidly. Indiana couldn’t stop him, and Indiana couldn’t stop Iowa. He was one of three Hawkeyes in double figures at the break, Iowa’s flexibility in scoring the basketball a key to an 11-point halftime lead. Race Thompson, IU’s primary cover on the versatile forward, spent the night in foul trouble in part because of Murray. The senior captain setting the program rebounding record down more than 20 points. There was no sugarcoating Tuesday’s performance. Kris outdid his brother, taking the Hoosiers apart inside Assembly Hall. Indiana looked two steps slow against Iowa’s active, aggressive offense, the ball popping as bodies moved almost as quickly.

Iowa 90, Indiana 68: Sealed with a kiss (Black Heart Gold Pants)

Fran McCaffery's Iowa squad, on the heels of one of the greatest Iowa basketball games I've ever seen, continued its winning ways in stunning fashion, this time ...

The second half began much the same as the first did, with Murray coming out of the gate playing aggressively and immediately scoring a 3, and quickly Iowa’s lead was once again back up to 15, thanks again to continued strong play from Perkins both in scoring and in assisting. Indiana could just go nothing to stop Murray and Perkins in any facet of the game. Indiana tried without avail to cut into Iowa’s lead, but again, every time they tried, Iowa had the response. Quickly, Iowa’s lead was up to 33-20 with 6:45 remaining in the half. Quickly, Iowa’s lead was suddenly 17, forcing an IU turnover with 4 minutes left in the half. That proved to be the death-knell for the Hoosiers.

Indiana could not afford to sub out their starters, and the game was out of hand by that point. Indiana fouls too much, sends Iowa to the line. He made 8-of-10 from the stripe to lead the way. From the opening tip, Iowa got where they wanted to go offensively, and they made open shots. The Hawkeyes shot 55.6 from the field overall and made 13 threes. There was really only one key to the game, and this was it.

College Basketball Odds: Iowa vs. Indiana prediction, pick, how to ... (ClutchPoints)

Iowa faces Indiana on Tuesday. Our college basketball odds series has our Iowa Indiana prediction, odds and pick.

The halfcourt defense is superb, the awareness of what to do is complete, and Indiana looks like a locked-in, well-coached team right now. It’s a basic part of life, not just college sports: No two days are going to be the exact same in terms of how enthusiastic and focused human beings are in their work. Playing at home in front of a juiced-up home crowd, finding energy should not be a problem for the Hoosiers. The Hoosiers put forth so much energy in that game, and it’s not a given that the Hoosiers will be able to deliver the same level of intensity in this game. Indiana swept Purdue in the season series between the two teams by winning on the road on Saturday night. The Hawkeyes rattled off a bunch of 3-pointers, including the tying shot with under 10 seconds left.

Why the rest of the schedule matters for Iowa men's basketball (Hawkeyes Wire)

Good news, Iowa fans! For all of the low points of this season where it felt like the NCAA Tournament had slipped out of the hands of the Hawkeyes, ...

Even if they made it in the tournament after three straight losses, it would be extremely hard for anyone to rally around this team as a real contender to do anything. A strong showing in the Big Ten Tournament would as well. They have the opportunity to do so with these remaining games and to just build that confidence in general. Most [Bracketology predictions](https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-projecting-2023-march-madness-men-field) have the Hawkeyes as a No. [massive comeback victory](https://hawkeyeswire.usatoday.com/lists/hawkeye-heroics-twitter-reacts-to-iowas-miraculous-rally-over-michigan-state/) over [Michigan State](https://spartanswire.usatoday.com), it appears as though Iowa is a safe bet to make the tournament at this point. The struggles on the road have been well documented for the Hawkeyes this year.
