The Clippers had a 162-156 lead with 3:04 remaining in the first overtime before the Kings scored six straight to even it. Los Angeles had a chance to win it, but Leonard was unable to put in a tip in at the buzzer. Los Angeles had a 145-131 advantage with 4:25 remaining before the Kings rallied back to force overtime with a 22-8 run. He was 16 of 22 from the field, including six 3-pointers, in 46 minutes. Sacramento center Domantas Sabonis played only 31 minutes after being in foul trouble most of the night. The Clippers had a 175-169 advantage with 1:57 remaining before the Kings scored the final seven points, including Fox's jumper with 36.5 seconds remaining. We were on the second night of a back-to-back but it is what it is. The last to do it was James Harden in 2019. It is the second time it has happened in an NBA game this season after Cleveland's Caris LeVert and Donovan Mitchell did it against Boston. Kawhi Leonard scored a season-high 44 points for Los Angeles and Paul George added 34. A team has scored 170 points in a regular-season game only seven times. It is only the second time in the NBA's 76-year history that both teams have scored at least 170 points.

You don't want to have to rely on others to put yourself in a position to have some success in the final standings. "We put ourselves in a position to where we control our own destiny," Kings head coach Mike Brown said about the final third of the season. At 18.8 points per game and an NBA-best 12.4 rebounds this season, Sabonis made a return visit to the All-Star Game. Sacramento did not make a significant move at this year's trade deadline, but made one last year, shipping Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield to the Indiana Pacers to land Domantas Sabonis. "(To hear) that somebody, that a lot of teammates and people want you, is very important to me. It has been a somewhat trying season for the Clippers, who opened with NBA Finals aspirations, only to see George and Kawhi Leonard have to work their way through injuries.

And Westbrook – who became just the second players ever to start a game for both the Clippers and the Lakers in the same season since the Clippers moved to LA in 1984-85 – had 17 points, 14 assists and five rebounds to go with seven turnovers. And yet again in overtime, the Clippers had a slender lead but could not hold on as Sacramento once again came racing back, with Fox’s bucket with 36.5 seconds remaining the final score. There was high-level talent that was on display. It looked as if the new-look Clippers would have been able to wrap up a high-scoring evening in regulation time on Friday, holding a 145-131 lead with just 4:25 left in the fourth quarter. Kudos to the players.” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue called it a “crazy game” with “a lot of momentum shifts,” while Kings coach Mike Brown said the spectators in attendance will have gone home happy.

Kings spoil Russell Westbrook's debut with Clippers in offensive ... (NBA.com)

Sacramento's 176-175 victory over LA in double-overtime marks the 2nd highest-scoring game in NBA history.

The Clippers held a 145-131 lead with 4:25 left in the fourth quarter only for the Kings to force overtime with a 22-8 run. With the Clippers nursing a 162-156 cushion midway through the first overtime period, the Kings ripped off six unanswered points in 74 seconds. The Kings (34-25) created a 2-game cushion over the Phoenix Suns (33-28) and a 2-1/2 game edge over the Clippers (33-29) for third place in the West with 23 regular-season games remaining. Sacramento forced four turnovers within a 42-second span, leading to three Fox layups and a Keegan Murray dunk that cut the Clippers’ lead to 147-144 with 1:58 remaining in regulation. Trailing 175-169, they closed out the game with seven unanswered points, including Fox’s 19-foot jumper to put Sacramento up for good with 36.1 seconds remaining. That’s why in my opinion, our game is the greatest game on Earth.” “Kudos to the players. That’s because Brown has mostly preached defense during coaching stops with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2005-10, 2013-14), Los Angeles Lakers (2011-12) and now the Kings (2022-present). The Kings shot remarkably efficient from the field (65-for-111) and from 3-point range (18-for-41). But with the modern game consisting of quick scoring outbursts, a high volume of 3s and fast-paced offense, does it seem inevitable NBA teams will soon score at this rate on a more regular basis? The fatigue caught up to them on the second night of a back-to-back. No two NBA teams had scored at such a prolific rate since the Detroit Pistons edged the Denver Nuggets 186-184 in triple overtime on Dec.

'Crazy': Fox, Monk lift Kings over Clippers in second-highest scoring ... (Sacramento Bee)

De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk lead Sacramento Kings to 176-175 win over Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook and Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com.

Monk made a 3-pointer with 1:21 remaining and then Fox hit the go-ahead jumper with 43.3 seconds to go. Harrison Barnes made two free throws to cut the deficit to four with 1:46 to play in double overtime. They were down by six with 3:04 to go in the first overtime and trailed by six again with 1:57 to play in the second overtime. The Kings battled back to cut the deficit to four, but then Sabonis was called for a charge – his fifth foul – with 6:46 to play in the third period. The Clippers started the second half with a 9-2 run to take an 89-78 lead. Sabonis had 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one blocked shot despite being limited to 14 minutes in the first half. Brown elected to leave Sabonis in the game, but that immediately backfired when Sabonis was called for his fourth foul 11 seconds later. Westbrook missed his first two shots before a live-ball turnover led to a fastbreak layup and his first basket for the Clippers, tying the game midway through the opening period. The Kings were down by 14 with 4:25 to play in the fourth quarter. Monk came off the bench to score a career-high 45 points for the Kings (34-25), who moved a season-best nine games over .500 with 23 games remaining in the regular season. They made moves to acquire Mason Plumlee and Eric Gordon at the trade deadline and then picked up Westbrook on the buyout market. The Kings made a statement alright, spoiling Westbrook’s Clippers debut with a wild 176-175 double-overtime victory Friday night at Crypto.com Arena in the second-highest scoring game in NBA history.

NBA radio play-by-play voice G-Man Gary Gerould will call his 3000th Sacramento Kings game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

Gerould called the action as if it was a page-turning drama, laced with a few of his trademark, “Oh, my!” mentions. There’s no guarantee that the playoff drought is over, but we’ve got a shot. The Kings wanted a local guy to call the games, a familiar face. Gerould hopes to be calling playoff action come April, the first time since 2006. Gary Gerould’s first Kings game was in the fall of 1985. It was a tape and a prayer.

The Clippers must also win the battle on the boards. The Clippers are average on the boards, ranking 15th in rebounds. The Clippers are also 16th in blocked shots. Next, the Clippers must prevent the Kings from building too much momentum early. The Kings returned the routing the Clippers 123-96 in a December game in Los Angeles. The Clippers are finally healthy. However, the Clippers are also fifth from beyond the arc. The Kings struggle on the boards, ranking 23rd in rebounds. The Clippers also must avoid the letdown as the Phoenix Suns are right behind them in the standings. Also, they are 5-5 over the last 10 home games. Initially, the Clippers edged the Kings 111-109 in an October game in Sacramento. The Kings enter this game leading the Pacific Division, as they have been a pleasant surprise in the Western Conference.

Sacramento Kings vs LA Clippers: Prediction, Starting Lineups ... (Lineups)

What started out as a feel-good story with the Kings getting off to a hot start, now has turned to how far can this team go in the playoffs?

Sabonis has been a crucial factor towards the Kings offense, serving as a dual threat post player with motion revolving around him. That doesn’t bode well in late game situations when the pace is drastically slowed down, but it does for our under tickets as we want as much precious time taken off the board as possible in between buckets.

The LA Clippers come back from the All-Star break with a big matchup against the Pacific Division leading Sacramento Kings Game Information Where:

They have one of the better duos in the NBA with De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. The Sacramento Kings come to town on the second night of a back-to-back and as arguably the biggest surprise in the NBA this season. They are first in the NBA in points per game at 119.5 and second in offensive rating at 118.1. One other thing the Clippers need to monitor is the health of Ivica Zubac. He is a former MVP and will ultimately retire as one of the best guards to ever play the game. The Kings are exactly one game ahead of them in the Western Conference standings and a win would essentially move the Clippers into third place.
