But damn if he isn’t an intriguing player with a gorgeous jump shot and a strong feel for the game. Jerome continues to impress, and the Warriors continue to show that they know what they’re doing with two-way contracts. Also thought his defense was good in this one. And it only reinforced my belief that I’ve been shouting to everyone who will listen for the last month or two: he’ll be a part of next year’s rotation. Great energy, a menage on the boards, and strong defense. After a cold night in LA on Thursday, DDV found his shooting stroke again on Friday, and the Warriors were a lot better for it. With Wiggins and Draymond Green out, Lamb did an excellent job playing larger than he is. But entering this game, Looney was fifth in the entire NBA in rebounding rate, trailing only Clint Capela, Steven Adams, Jonas Valančiūnas, and Rudy Gobert. The Dubs won the rebounding battle, and Looney was the biggest reason why. Looney was an absolute beast in this game, especially in the first quarter. He also had some tremendous defensive possessions — his athleticism can be a difference-maker in helping an older Warriors team hang tight with a young and athletic squad like Houston. The NBA trade deadline is only just in the rearview mirror, but that hasn't stopped some already looking towards what may happen during the offseason.

It’s also important to note that the 2024 and 2025 first-round picks are via Toronto and Atlanta, making them less attractive than if they were based on the Spurs’ finishing position. Below is how Piercey thinks a trade could shape up between Golden State and the San Antonio Spurs. Poole is set to make $27.5 million next season, while McDermott and Graham are under contract for just under $26 million combined.

That side has drastically dropped in production, hovering around average to below average at best. The Rockets have been in the midst of a free fall throughout the course of the year, firmly in the Victor sweepstakes. There are a lot of intriguing options to combine them with, but I will go with the New York Knicks as they are also in a must win situation and are going against the Wizards who may be without Bradley Beal. This is an intriguing time of the year with the contrast of playoff contenders and those who are tanking for better odds in the NBA Draft lottery.
