He also talks about how having original cast member Tatyana Ali guest this season was a borderline spiritual experience. custom-image-bel-air-olly-sholoton.
The audience gets to see a lot of the things that Carlton is really good at in relationships, but also the things that he needs work on, and the things, in himself, that he needs to deal with before getting into a relationship with someone else. I have to go in there and find that stuff and bring it out, but at the end of the day, it’s worth it. I was on the lot for ADR, or for a fitting or something, and we ran into each other. You don’t have anxiety anymore.” In reality, it’s more about learning to cope with the anxiety, and learning to deal with it, and figuring out how to live a life with it. And so, playing a character that gets to speak to that is really important to me. And I know there was definitely a small voice in the back of my head that was like, what if I do this and I hate it? What has most helped you to find that and make it as authentic as possible? And then, when I saw that it was a dramatic retelling, I was like, “Wait a second, this is very interesting.” I remember for my audition, they had said, “This is not the ‘90s sitcom. When it comes to Carlton, a big issue for him is his anxiety, and how he deals with it or doesn’t deal with it. We’ll do it again.” That’s the type of creative environment that we’ve fostered on our set, and I think it’s what led to the show being so good. The original Carlton, in the sitcom, was such a specific character, so did it ever concern you to take on this role, knowing that it would not be what people expected? I also love that, just when I thought it was at the point where I might be past being able to like Carlton, that dynamic really flipped.

Remember when Will stormed out on Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv because they lied to him about his father Lou being in prison? Well, the Philly native still ...
Will even apologized to Lisa for lying, but said they needed to take a break while he figured some things out for himself. While he impressed the others on the court, Doc felt that he wasn’t a right fit. That turned the tide, and he was invited to share more of his suggestions at the next meeting.

What if he is using Jackie to keep tabs on Will and keep him close? Things continued to deteriorate in Hilary's content house when Ivy didn't want to be part of a promotional campaign. When Carlton tries to do something by himself, Will swoops in and usurps everything. Carlton has big dreams, and among them is winning the Founders Award, which makes his chances at getting to Princeton much better. The Bel-Air team won't keep giving him a pass, and they might boot him. Will and Carlton's brotherhood seemed to deepen, as nothing makes a relationship stronger than mutual secrets. While it is noble to be there for your friends, one has to know their limits, and Jazz had reached his limit when Will started coming home late. Aunt Viv was still trying to break into the art scene, but Reed's reach was too far. The initial competition that marked the beginning of their relationship was less prevalent. It was not as flowery as he wanted because Jazz was tired of having him on his couch. With parental supervision, he was in a better position. Living with Jazz gave Will too much freedom, and who knows what he had been up to?
The second season of "Bel-Air" is here, with Jabari Banks returning as Will, the role made famous by Will Smith in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."

Banks shared how Will Smith surprised him with news of his "Bel-Air" role in a new interview on "The Drew Barrymore Show."
It was almost surreal," he said. "It was so meta. "Morgan Cooper called me and he said, 'We want to do one more creative session with you,' and I was like, 'What is a creative session?'" Coco Jones talks all things “Bel-Air” season 2, and reveals her true feelings about short kings and the best advice she got from SZA.
So I feel like the [current] momentum has validated [me again], but in a way that even if it ‘goes away,’ it won't… How do you feel now, almost exactly a year later, with season 2 finally out in the world? it charged me up in a way, so I wanted to give that same energy to Hilary,” Coco tells Teen Vogue. What I Didn't Tell You reaching the top spot of Apple Music's R&B charts upon its release is indication that Coco has hit her groove, and the world is finally tuned in. Last November, Coco released her major label debut EP What I Didn't Tell You. Within the last year, Coco has stepped into her power like never before.
Cassandra Freeman, Coco Jones & Akira Akbar discuss the impact of new characters, new relationships, and Tatyana Ali's cameo in Bel-Air season 2.
To protect him, Will's mother sends him to live with relatives in LA's wealthiest suburbs, which is only the beginning of a complicated journey for the teenager. How does she handle more of the managerial role in the influencer space and navigate her partnerships with other influencers? Coco, I love the relationship with Hilary and Jazz. But I really think the story is about how men recognize what other men are doing underneath the surface, and so she doesn't peep things the way Phil peeps it. For me, the first goal is get Geoffrey back in this house; to get Will back in this house. Akira, there's a real passing of the torch moment this season, especially with the fist bump between your Ashley and Tatyana Ali, who's on the show as Mrs. How have Will and the rest of the Banks' family changed from season 1 to season 2? And there's some other blessings that happen, but also she has to push some other people to the side and have to raise her husband to understand who he needs to be to. Cassandra, at the start of the season, Geoffrey and Will have both gone. When Will moves in with his family and starts at the same school as his cousin, he tries to find his footing and figure out his place in this new world. Will also reconnects with his family, to Ashley's great joy, while Hilary splits focus between her new managerial role in the influencers space and her relationship with Jazz. When the series opens, Will Smith runs into trouble in Wes Philadelphia and his mother sends him to live with his aunt and uncle in the wealthy LA suburb of Bel-Air.
Bel-Air creator Morgan Cooper and season two showrunner Carla Banks Waddles defend EP Will Smith's character and professionalism after Oscars slap.
Speaking to how supportive Smith has been of the production, Waddles added that “we’re still able to tell stories with his character and all of the original Fresh Prince legacy characters. That’s been Will since Day 1, and I’m very proud to be in partnership with him.” 31, both Smith and co-star Martin Lawerence [announced their reunion](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/will-smith-martin-lawrence-bad-boys-four-1235314544/) for the next franchise chapter. For the show’s writer and director, he’s “got nothing but good things to say about Will.” “Day in and day out, I’ve seen a guy who is committed to excellence and committed to putting people in the position to do their best work. But I don't, like, tap into what he would have done, or what I saw before, to act the way I act on the show." That's the good guy.'
