Kyrie Irving incredible, Luka Doncic quiet in 2023 NBA All-Star Game (The Smoking Cuban)

Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving went off, but Luka Doncic was quiet in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City on Feb. 19.

The best players in the world put on a show on Feb. Doncic was mic’d up when he went up for the slam, and he offered a bit of humor after throwing it down. Doncic was quiet in the All-Star Game loss, but Irving went off. Team LeBron fell to 5-1 under this All-Star format, and Luka lost for the first time in his four trips. The All-Star Game did not disappoint, despite Giannis Antetokounmpo playing just one possession and LeBron James suffering a finger injury that kept him out of the second half. Fans know James is a fan of Luka and Kyrie, but Team LeBron lost for the first time since switching to the captains’ format.

Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving to start for Team LeBron in All-Star Game (Yardbarker)

Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are not only Mavericks teammates, they're also starting together for Team LeBron at the All-Star Game Sunday in Salt Lake City.

After several years of letdowns, the 2023 version of the Daytona 500 was a step in the right direction in bringing the race back to its legendary status. And his chance to get the kind of contract he wants—for all the reasons they traded for him, they were at a shortage of talent around Luka Dončić; hopefully this thing goes well enough, it’s never going to be perfect with Kyrie Irving—but given what they gave up and Dallas’ track record of being willing to pay players who want to be there, I think it’s more likely than not Kyrie Irving is in Dallas.” As Wojnarowski mentioned, Irving is satisfied enough with his current contract compared to what the Brooklyn Nets were planning on giving him. A lot of that had to do with Bill Belichick’s decision to hand control of the Patriots’ offense to former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. The deciding factor in all of this is if the Steelers are willing to go all in for a Super Bowl or not. How big of a desire is it for the Steelers to bring in another wide receiver? Whether the Steelers decide to bring in Mike Evans or not, wide receiver is going to be a position that is heavily looked at in 2023. He rode in the middle of the pack for much of the afternoon and didn't take the lead until making. Pressure is going to be on this position and all of the players involved in it. With many speculations that the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to look for an additional wide receiver, Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan has one guy on his mind on who he wants to bring in for the black and gold. Given the young core of talent on the roster, and its significant improvement in its rebuild, why wouldn't the Orioles want to make an effort to be competitive around that young core and make a serious push? It is with the teams that make no effort to win. According to ESPN's Matt Williams, Tatum is the first player to post games of 50 or more points in the regular season, postseason, and All-Star Game.

Luka hasn’t had to do it yet, but he’s one of the highest-IQ guys in the league, so he’ll figure it out.” But those two are going to be special together.
