2023 NBA All-Star Game: Times, TV and how to watch online (AS English)

Information on how to watch the NBA All-Star Game between Team Giannis and Team LeBron being played at Vivint Arena on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8:30 p.m..

In 2018, squads were no longer divided by conference; instead, the players with the most votes per conference were to be declared team captains who would draft their members from the pool of All-Star starters and reserves, regardless of conference. The game caps off a weekend of basketball excitement, and has evolved from the time the All-Star Game was conceived. For the first time, the draft takes place right before the big game. It turned out that basketball fans were eager to see all their favorite players on the court at the same time. However, the Games were sometimes viewed as non-competitive, with some stars putting in lackadaisical performances. We’ll be building up to tip-off from the All-Star Draft which takes place an hour before, with team news and analysis, so no matter where you are, so long as your phone’s connected you can find out exactly how things are going.

NBA alters All-Star Game draft; starters to be picked last (ESPN)

SALT LAKE CITY -- There are more changes in store for the NBA All-Star team selection process. Unlike in years past when the All-Star team captains drafted ...

[Kevin Durant](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3202/kevin-durant) has been a captain twice and [Stephen Curry](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3975/stephen-curry) was a captain once, in 2018. In this format, the last player selected would still start in the game, thus avoiding the schoolyard stigma associated with being picked last. The order is, too.

Frigid Utah welcomes NBA All-Star Weekend with warm hospitality (The Washington Post)

This year's edition has gotten off to a sleepier start than usual, perhaps because of the cold weather and a wave of injuries that has dimmed the star ...

“Utah is not going to get in the way.” Antetokounmpo and his two brothers are scheduled to compete in the skills challenge against a team composed of Jazz players and a team of rookies led by No. Courtside tickets for Sunday’s game were listed for nearly $10,000 apiece on a secondary site, and Smith estimated that the festivities could have a $250 million impact locally. The Los Angeles Lakers star and Antetokounmpo will also serve as all-star captains and pick their teams in a televised pregame draft. Other broadcast innovations include being able to cycle through various languages, graphical interfaces and backgrounds, so fans in Utah could watch the Jazz play in front of mountains rather than the typical crowd shots. Ultimately, Commissioner Adam Silver, who had previously [moved the 2017 All-Star Weekend out of Charlotte](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2016/07/21/report-nba-will-move-2017-all-star-game-from-charlotte-to-new-orleans-over-hb2-law/?itid=lk_inline_manual_10) in response to a North Carolina bathroom bill, said that Salt Lake City would remain as host because the NBA didn’t “want to be in a position where we’re chased from state to state around the country.” At the annual Tech Summit, where Metta World Peace and Meta executives coexisted in proximity, Silver greeted a standing-room-only crowd of power brokers, including league officials, team executives and super agents. “I want to be one of the first guys to do this version of myself,” Doncic said. A comedown was inevitable after the NBA pulled no punches with its 75th anniversary celebration in Cleveland last year, and a wave of injuries has dimmed the star power. A few blocks south, teens took photos next to a life-size figurine of Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant that was fully encased in an ice block. Nevertheless, visitors can walk down John Stockton Drive next to Vivint Arena, where statues of the NBA’s all-time assist leader and Malone, his top target, stand sentry. As such, the weekend has felt like a grand introduction rather than simply a reunion of basketball royalty.
