Clippers set for stretch run? 'We got everything we need' (Los Angeles Times)

Clippers stars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are among those who believe new additions make them ready for a run into, and through, the playoffs.

George’s comment that the Clippers have “everything we need” is a notable change in tone. Against the Warriors and Suns combined, the Clippers averaged 299 passes, 24 more than their season average. 26 to first-place Denver — a game that doubles as a reunion with recently traded guard Reggie Jackson — and a home game against eighth-place Minnesota on Feb. made it clear they believed the team needed a traditional point guard, namely Russell Westbrook. We got playmaking, we got scorers. 9 trade deadline behind them — has nothing on the urgency that will be required when they return to practice. It has to be. “Play to your strengths, be who you are, score the basketball, make the right play and he has the pace and speed to get into the paint and make the right play,” Lue said. The team’s discussions with buyout candidates for their backcourt had maintained scrutiny on the current Clippers’ ball movement and passing. “That’s good, though. 24 against third-place Sacramento, followed by a visit Feb. A five-game homestand begins March 5 against second-place Memphis.

Russell Westbrook to Clippers gains steam with Paul George talk (ClutchPoints)

The Los Angeles Clippers appear interested in signing Russell Westbrook. A meeting will take place between he, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

Westbrook could legitimately have a starting role with L.A., given Clippers head coach Ty Lue’s history of trusting veteran players and his desire to have a true point guard. Nonetheless, without that being confirmed, all that can be said is that George and Kawhi are interested enough in the scenario to discuss it with the 2016-17 MVP. With the playoff eligible waiver deadline on Mar.

Clippers Waive Moses Brown • 213hoops.com (213 Hoops)

The LA Clippers have waived two-way center Moses Brown, the team announced Friday. The decision was first reported by The Athletic's Law Murray on.

Given their current very strong depth situation, it’s unlikely that they feel they have to fill a rotation “need” like they did with Brown, although another frontcourt player would make sense in a Clipper garbage time contingent that currently includes Bones Hyland (a rotation guard who seems likely to get extra reps in garbage time), Jason Preston (guard), Brandon Boston (guard/wing), Amir Coffey (wing), and Moussa Diabate (big). If they believed that Brown was a piece for the future, they could have kept him until this summer and attempted to re-sign him, but once again his limitations as a player and the presence of Plumlee (who will be a free agent with bird rights this summer) made that an ulikely path forward. The Clippers could have converted him to a spot on their 15-man roster, but opted not to do so after the addition of Mason Plumlee in the backup center role at the deadline.
