[Valentine’s Day](https://www.thecut.com/2022/02/rihanna-feeding-pigeons-is-the-spirit-of-valentines-day.html), after all, and maybe Wilde just wanted to share a beloved American writer’s thoughts about love. The lawsuit appears to come from the same woman who anonymously described [details of their breakup](https://www.thecut.com/2022/10/olivia-wilde-jason-sudeikis-salad-dressing.html) to the Daily Mail in October. “The other,” Steinbeck continues, “is an outpouring of everything good in you — of kindness and consideration and respect.” Following the October Daily Mail report, Wilde seemed to lean into the theatrics of it all by posting a salad recipe from Nora Ephron’s divorce novel, Heartburn. A few days later, Wilde posted a photo of the dressing recipe Ephron’s protagonist teaches her husband to make the night before she leaves him. Olivia Wilde, A$AP Rocky and when it's OK to call someone hot (USA TODAY)

There's no golden rule when it comes to complimenting someone else's significant other, so it all comes down to individual relationships.

"If you’re in an open relationship or polyamorous, someone propositioning your partner is fine," Vered Shashoua says. If you're not in a monogamous relationship, and neither are they and everyone consents, it could be fair game. Overall, it comes down to respecting your partner. A woman is viewed as "sexually aggressive" if she expresses attraction like this. "Women expressing desire is seen as 'uncomfortable,' 'desperate' or 'thirsty,'" Vered Shashoua adds. A couple may agree that romantic or sexual attention outside the relationship should be ignored or should be reported to the other person in the couple. "We often perceive the same action differently." One [social media user](https://twitter.com/starryangelxo/status/1625284971664375812?s=20&t=8e4VL899oF2Vp8XOjL0kbA) asked, "Why (is she) posting about somebody else’s man like this???" - Listen to your partner – and consider whether societal gender norms may be influencing behavior. "We perceive the same comments in different ways." Relationship boundaries are paramount for everyone involved when it comes to expressing desire or admiration for someone else. But in doing so, Wilde touched a nerve for some people.

Former nanny for Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis sues couple, claiming ... (USA TODAY)

Ericka Genaro, the former nanny of actors Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis, is suing the ex-couple for wrongful termination following their split.

[reportedly told the Daily Mail](https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2022/10/17/olivia-wilde-jason-sudeikis-respond-ex-nanny-allegations-harry-styles/10529227002/) that Wilde [had an affair with pop star Harry Styles](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11299523/Jason-Sudeikis-tried-prevent-Olivia-Wilde-seeing-Harry-Styles-fight.html) that started the month before she and Sudeikis officially split. Styles starred in Wilde's 2022 thriller ["Don't Worry Darling,"](https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2022/09/06/dont-worry-darling-drama-explained-florence-pugh-harry-styles/8000701001/) and the two had been photographed together since early 2021, sparking speculation they were a couple. “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly," Wilde and Sudeikis said in a joint statement at the time. After declining, Genaro says Sudeikis fired her immediately and arranged for her to be placed in a hotel. But while Wilde “reacted sympathetically,” Genaro says Sudeikis later revealed to her during a car ride to the airport that Wilde had told him about their private conversation. Genaro, who was hired in 2018 as the primary caretaker for the pair’s two children (son Otis, now 8, and daughter Daisy, 6), says Sudeikis began leaning on her for emotional support after Wilde abruptly moved out of their home in November 2020.

Erika Genaro, who began working for the actors in 2018, says their breakup in 2020 created a tense environment that compromised her mental health, according to the lawsuit she filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
