It has been a year since a blockbuster trade between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers. Looking back now, who won the trade?

He and Maxey have to be the ones to drive that group and really be the engine. He knocked down another 3 in the third to gain separation and he also was solid on the defensive end which is an added bonus. Overall, Maxey was able to get to the free-throw line often and he gave the Sixers a big spark. The big fella then realized that he was the biggest dude on the floor and that it was time to go to work. When the offense was sputtering a bit in the second quarter, he knocked down a triple and then moved well off the ball in order to get himself an easy layup. The veteran was better in this one on the offensive end. After two miserable shooting nights against Orlando, Maxey was able to get a 3 to drop in the early going. He scored when he had the opportunity, such as knocking down another catch-and-shoot 3 in the second half when Embiid was doubled, but the focus as always is to ensure that the offense is flowing and the team has rhythm. On defense, he was a roamer in the back end which allows him to stay near the rim and be able to call things out. He has proven to be so valuable to this team on both ends and he has proven to be an underrated offseason addition. The negatives were he wasn’t able to take advantage of the open 3s he received from the corner. Following a win at home on Wednesday, Philadelphia was looking to continue its winning ways and begin a new winning streak.

As has been the message all season, Harden and Embiid’s performances in this game made it clear that their eyes are set beyond individual accolades this year. After Maxey led the reserve unit to balloon Philly’s lead to 21 in the fourth, San Antonio clawed their way back, taking advantage of a Sixers’ lineup that featured third-stringers Danuel House Jr. The San Antonio Spurs were able to keep pace thanks to Keldon Johnson’s strong slashing and their infamously intelligent ball movement. Harden turned down the opportunity to flip a switch and revert to his Houston Rockets days in an effort to send a message to the coaches of the league. They even started off a little slow and lethargic, something that’s become quite commonplace among this team, even in the midst of their hot streak. For one, the Spurs fans at AT&T Center always play great hosts and were equally enthusiastic five minutes before the game, as they were with their home team down 20+ points in the fourth quarter.
