The Bucs, however ranked dead last in rushing offense and, forced to rely almost solely of Brady’s arm, struggled to get the ball into the end zone. He is the only player to win more than five Super Bowls and has been MVP of the game five times. He played in one game as a rookie, completing one of three passes for six yards. The movie tells the story of four lifelong friends, played by Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field, who went to a Super Bowl to see Brady play. More Super Bowl wins came after the 2003 and 2004 seasons. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first,” Brady says in the video. The Buccaneers — with whom he won a Super Bowl two seasons ago — made the playoffs again this season, losing in their playoff opener. “Tom’s legacy is unmatched in the history of this game. Tom Brady Got Old (The New Yorker)

The N.F.L.'s greatest quarterback seemed ageless right up until his first retirement. Then he came back. And now he is retiring again, presumably for good.

He also threw an interception on the Cowboys’ five-yard line in the second quarter—an odd, wobbly little lob to a defender in the back of the end zone. He threw for four thousand six hundred and ninety-four yards, the third most of any quarterback in the league. Along the way, he also threw two touchdown passes in three minutes to beat the New Orleans Saints, 17–16, in a Monday Night Football game in early December, thus leading the Bucs in one of the most improbable fourth-quarter comebacks in N.F.L. Video of him breaking a tablet on the sideline in frustration also went viral. In the interim, his name was caught up in a tampering investigation; his marriage came to a very public end; video of him yelling at his terrible offensive line went viral. [first retired](https://www.newyorker.com/sports/sporting-scene/tom-brady-never-got-old), even though he was, back then, forty-four years old and the holder of nearly every record that matters, a man who had nothing to prove.

How Will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Replace Tom Brady? (The New York Times)

Brady claims he is done for good, but it is unclear what that will mean for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Fox broadcast booth and other interested parties.

[Fox signed Brady](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/10/sports/football/tom-brady-fox-deal.html) to a huge contract to join the network’s top N.F.L. Brady, who had plenty of leverage with Tampa Bay, made substantially more money each year he played for the Buccaneers than he did in his time with the Patriots, where he took a number of team-friendly contracts. [told CNN](https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/02/sport/tom-brady-robert-kraft-intl-spt/index.html) that he wanted to sign Brady to a one-day contract so he could retire as a member of the Patriots — the team he played for in 20 of his 23 N.F.L. The Buccaneers sneaked into a divisional title and an appearance in the playoffs despite a losing record this season. Whatever Tampa Bay decides, Brady will linger on the team’s balance sheet. Does Blaine Gabbert, the team’s backup quarterback, get a promotion, or will the team seek a replacement like Jimmy Garoppolo, who is set to enter free agency after six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers? The Buccaneers are already $55 million over the salary cap, according to Brady’s retirement, however, leaves others — notably the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Fox — to ponder their futures. But assuming he is done, they must answer a question all N.F.L. If his decision is not set in stone, they will have to consider whether they want to try to lure him back. In the past, N.F.L.

What iconic moment would make a good Tom Brady statue at ... (NBC Sports Boston)

It's probably safe to assume that Tom Brady will have a statue built of him outside Gillette Stadium someday. So, what iconic moment from his Patriots ...

There are a lot of pictures of Brady at a podium or surrounded by a sea of people. Another passionate moment was when Brady grabbed the Lombardi Trophy after the historic comeback over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI and he screamed, Would you like the Brady 'Let's go!' at the end of his run into the stadium?" That to me is a fair encapsulation of who he was as a competitor -- a fiery guy, maniacal. "Would you like to see the Brady on one knee signaling a first down after he juked Brian Urlacher? That to me is Tom Brady.
