Warriors vs. Thunder injury report: Andre Iguodala out (Golden State of Mind)

Andre Iguodala, Lu Dort, and Chet Holmgren are among the players who will miss the Golden State Warriors game vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Holmgren was one of the most intriguing players — perhaps the most intriguing — in the 2022 draft. 32 overall pick in 2021, Robinson-Earl has taken over as starting center for the Thunder in his second season ... This will be the second straight game that he’s missed, but only the third all season. I’m in the minority here, but I thought he looked pretty decent in those three games. Iguodala waited until January to make his season debut, but it only lasted for three games before he headed back to the injury report. For most of the year it’s felt like the Warriors have been at a health disadvantage when playing teams, but that’s not the case tonight.

The average over the last three games: 36.7 helpers per. But instead of the typical six minutes he only got a four-minute break. Kerr during his pregame news conference spoke of how well the bench is playing. Beyond those mundane details, though, Curry was a picture of control and composure. There were the 12 assists, the eight rebounds, the blocked shot, and the plus-17 over 37 minutes. His 3-pointer with 2:35 remaining forced an OKC timeout and re-ignited the stagnating Golden State offense.

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson make it rain in Warriors' win vs. Thunder (NBC Sports Bay Area)

Just like old times, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson let it fly in OKC as the Warriors took down the Thunder.

"He was just quick to the ball and looked fantastic out there." 10, Curry put an exclamation mark on the month as the Warriors won their third straight game and earned their first win streak on the road this season. Thompson scored the most out of the eight players who saw action in the fourth quarter, with nine points, three made shots, two free throws and one emphatic dunk. In that first quarter, the Warriors made 15 shots and all 15 were assisted. Curry scored 13 points in the first quarter and was a plus-18 in plus/minus as the Warriors entered the second up 38-20. But the one with the longest meaning was his seventh made field goal of the night, a strong finish at the rim. "I mean, Wilt Chamberlain is one of the greatest athletes to ever walk this earth. But on Monday night in OKC, it was time for Steph and Klay to make it rain on the Thunder once more. "You got to play the full 48," Steve Kerr said to reporters after the win. "The start that we got off to, though, set the tone for the game. They made 53.7 percent of their 41 shots, 50 percent of their 28 3-pointers and all eight of their free throws went down. The Thunder are young, fun and building their next core of stars.

Warriors' Steph Curry explains important misconception about NBA ... (CBSSports.com)

"It's never the player saying, 'Hey, I want to sit,'" Curry said.

The alternative is running them into the ground, which would result in more long-term injuries and shorter careers, and no one wants that. [Warriors coach Steve Kerr called the decision](https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/steve-kerr-on-warriors-resting-four-starters-against-cavaliers-its-a-brutal-part-of-the-business/) a "brutal part of the business" and advocated reducing the schedule to 72 games. But given the length of the season, the grueling travel schedule, and the thousands of miles they've put on their bodies throughout the years, it's in their best interest to take certain nights off. It's never the player that's saying, 'Hey, I want to sit.' For all those people worried about that part of our league and all that, it's usually not the player that's going to the training staff and saying, 'Hey, I don't have it tonight.' It's usually the other way around and there's a lot of science involved." While the current situation certainly is unfair for fans, Curry's point is important and doesn't get enough attention during these conversations. Every time there's a string of incidents like this, the load management debate kicks off again.

As such, the team must be proactive in the market and not hesitate to potentially trade their young prospects. If he stays on this roster, his future with the team will undoubtedly be in doubt. Again, trading Wiseman may mean the Warriors get 70 cents on the dollar. In addition, the Warriors may also look for additional talent in the buyout market instead of at the trade deadline. They would rather rely on the buyout market for unproven talent. He is due $12.1 million for the upcoming season and will be eligible for an extension this summer.
