Categorizing Milwaukee Bucks By Offensive And Defensive Roles (Forbes)

The NBA is turning into position-less basketball more and more, so I organized the Milwaukee Bucks into categories based on their offensive and defensive ...

This allows him to roam the court and clog up the lane. Carter loves to pester ball-handlers the entire length of the court and does a great job at it. Allen, Connaughton and Nwora also spend most of their time guarding wings, although not of the same caliber as Holiday. Holiday, Middleton, Antetokounmpo and Ingles are the primary shot creators for Milwaukee; they are responsible for finding their own shots and discovering open ones for their teammates as well. In a small step to de-position basketball, I will break down the Milwaukee Bucks’ roster based on their role at each end of the court. The skills NBA players of all heights and “positions” have developed allow them to play multiple roles for their team no matter what box we want to place them in.

Four observations: Pacers give up 85 in first half, fall to Giannis and ... (The Indianapolis Star)

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 41 points and the Bucks had 85 first-half points and the Pacers' second half-comeback wasn't enough Friday.

He was 7 of 18 from the line, grabbed 12 rebounds and had six assists. Hield finished with 19 of his 22 points in the second half. The Pacers didn't take the foot off the pedal in the fourth quarter and remarkably came within seven points of taking the lead. They posted 32 points in the paint in the first half, an incredible 1.48 points per possession. The Pacers slowed down at that point, though, and the Bucks didn't until after halftime. The Pacers didn't see a full-strength Bucks squad when the two teams met in Milwaukee on Jan.

Milwaukee vs. Indiana: Bucks — Blistering, Bumpy — Beat Pacers (Brew Hoop)

The second quarter was more of the same for Milwaukee, with a closing lineup of Jrue Holiday, Pat, Khris Middleton, Ingles, and Lopez really clicking on all ...

- Joe Ingles claimed to Zora Stephenson that he invented the “catch high, shoot high” motion. They shot 35.9% against the Cavaliers in their only loss in that span. - I appreciate that Wes Matthews regularly finds himself underneath the basket going to war for offensive rebounds. The second quarter was more of the same for Milwaukee, with a closing lineup of Jrue Holiday, Pat, Khris Middleton, Ingles, and Lopez really clicking on all offensive cylinders to close the quarter. In particular, I was floored by the recovery speed he showed time and time again. A crucial matchup Jrue dominated to help bring home the win. Every Buck not named Giannis struggled to make anything happen — Grayson, Pat, and Jevon Carter each made a basket, and that was it — and the Pacers kept chipping away. All season long he has been asked to carry more than his fair share of the team’s fortunes, and at times it looked to wear him out a bit. We dare not declare Khris “all the way back” just yet, but the 15 minutes he played last night were encouraging as he notched 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. He sets a hard screen, almost gets knocked over, recovers to turn and sprint towards the paint to pay off a Holiday P&R pass. TJ McConnell couldn’t miss a reverse layup if he tried and Buddy Hield — Indy’s most dangerous microwave scorer — contributed 16 points of his own having played all 12 minutes of the third quarter. Antetokounmpo would finish with 41 points (16-29 from the floor), 12 rebounds, and 6 assists.
