With Isaiah Stewart and Killian Hayes coming off the bench, the Detroit Pistons' offense looked much improved in the 130-122 win over the Nets.

Hayes’ role shift is tougher to explain, but it could be a vote of confidence for Ivey’s improved playmaking and an acknowledgement that the starting five needs more shooting. Stewart also looked comfortable, tallying nine points and five rebounds while going 5-for-5 at the free-throw line in 20 minutes. It was a good offensive night for the Pistons, who shot 50.5% overall and 40.7% from 3. Stewart returned to the Pistons’ rotation after missing four of their last six games with left shoulder soreness. But the rookie center made up for it on the other end, receiving a ridiculous bounce pass from Hayes for a dunk to give Detroit more breathing room the following possession.

Irving scored 40 points, but the Pistons notched a much-needed road win on Thursday.

And even with the lineup change, the bench played well. Burks scored 20 in his first start, which isn’t surprising considering he’s a walking bucket off the bench or as a starter. It was the epitome of Good Hami. Obviously, the Nets were without Kevin Durant, as well as Seth Curry and Ben Simmons in the second half due to injury, but this team tonight just... Starting alongside Alec Burks for the first time this season, Ivey looked very comfortable as the lead ball handler with the starters. Give Jaden Ivey credit: he was the catalyst.

The Pistons, who gave up 49 points in the first quarter against the Bucks, led 30-27 after one. Bey scored 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting in the period. They had lost seven in a row overall to the Nets.
