The Bachelor season 27 host is Jesse Palmer, who was the season 5 Bachelor in 2004 and was the youngest Bachelor in Bachelor Nation history at 24 years old. “Falling in love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from firsthand experience and I am grateful to play a small part in his journey.” The announcement came after Chris Harrison, the former host of Bachelor Nation, confirmed in June 2021 that he had retired as the franchise’s host after 19 years. News](https://www.eonline.com/news/1344154/here-are-all-the-contenders-to-be-the-bachelor-in-season-27) in August 2022 that Nate was the frontrunner to become the next Bachelor. [Page Six](https://pagesix.com/2022/09/14/zach-shallcross-is-frontrunner-to-be-named-next-bachelor/) also reported in September 2022 that Zach was a frontrunner to become the next Bachelor. [Reality Steve](https://realitysteve.com/2022/09/01/podcast-302-interview-with-fboy-islands-benedict-polizzi/) reported on his podcast in September 2022 that Nate Mitchell, a contestant on The Bachelorette season 19 with Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, was offered the role but declined. He was announced as the season 27 Bachelor at The Bachelorette season 19 “After the Final Rose” special in September 2022. @BachelorWhatever confirmed in November 2022 that Ariel was eliminated in the final three, and Zach chose Gabi as his winner and proposed to her at the The Bachelor season 27 finale in Krabi, Thailand. Zach was a contestant on [The Bachelorette season 19](https://stylecaster.com/the-bachelorette-2022-spoilers-gabby-rachel-winner/) with [Gabby Windey](https://stylecaster.com/gabby-windey-net-worth/) and [Rachel Recchia](https://stylecaster.com/rachel-recchia-net-worth/), where he was Rachel’s contestant and self-eliminated in the final three. Who does Zach pick as The Bachelor 2023 winner? Christina’s drinking also became a storyline on The Bachelor season 27 after she drank a lot on Night One, as well as slept on the stairs of the Bachelor Mansion at a pool party in week three after also drinking too much. Tahzjuan Hawkins, a contestant from The Bachelor season 23 with Colton Underwood and Bachelor in Paradise seasons 6 and 7, tried to join Zach’s Bachelor season. A twist that has never happened in Bachelor Nation occurs in week five while Zach and the cast are in London, England, according to Reality Steve.
Zach Shallcross is not just Mike Fleiss's Ken doll — he's a real human boy! (Right?) A recap of week one of 'The Bachelor' season 27, episode 1, ...
Zach is a snack. She starts oscillating between simmering self-empowerment (“He does not know what he’s missing out on”) and crushing self-doubt (“What did I do wrong?”). Trying to poison the Bachelor on day one is a bold move, but clearly it works because she later gets the first-impression rose. A bouquet of roses? He makes out with Kaity under the watchful eye of the house. Dragons — since he’s clearly bingeing House of the Dragon.) You know who has a problem with all this kissing? When the ladies pull up in the limo, we hear the typical screams of girlish glee and the clinking of Champagne glasses. The guy who sounds like he swallowed a toad as a child? We also have Christina Mandrell, who, since her mom is famous, has the honor of having her last name onscreen, not just the initial. The guy who clearly has a great eyebrow lady in Austin? Ali, we wish you the best as you get better and beat this thing. No, the prospect of Zach being the Bachelor didn’t scare her off (though he and his deep voice certainly tried).
"The Bachelor" host Jesse Palmer discusses Season 27 starring Zach Shallcross, plus answers questions about the future of the franchise.
So I would say to keep your eye on her early on because there are a lot of storylines and a lot of a lot of things that will develop and unfold along the way. I think he has all the qualities, and I think he’s so deserving. “Paradise” is like “The Bachelor” on crack. So many women got out of the limo on night one and said, “I’m here because you were chosen as ‘The Bachelor.'” They were so happy it was Zach, and I think because a lot of these women were already emotionally invested and hoping to find love with Zach, that leads to maybe some heartbreak and certainly some drama. It’s still exciting and fun and there’s a lot of newness to it. I’m not privy to those conversations, but if I were part of that discussion, I don’t think there’s one frontrunner — I would say there’s probably a couple frontrunners. It’s not to say that if it ever were to happen again that would end up with the same problems, or same positives that unfolded. Hosting this season, it was very evident to me just how intentional Zach was with the women and what he was looking for, and one of his biggest priorities that he had from night one all the way through the season was to give time to every single woman an opportunity. Speaking of the season’s star, Shallcross, the host says, “He is very focused on finding love and finding his person, and he’s so intentional about it. That was the ultimate end goal for Zach, and he never takes his eyes off of that throughout the entire season. During Rachel and Gabby’s season, I think you saw just how serious he was taking the whole process and that he had fallen in love with Rachel, and obviously he did experience some heartbreak. That’s a great question, and I think you hit it right on the head.
You might remember that Shallcross was introduced to five contestants already during The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose — Bailey, Brianna, Brooklyn, Cat, ...
That’s when some of the energy began to shift as women who hadn’t had a chance to talk to Shallcross began to wonder if they’d get that opportunity before the night was over. He told her he didn’t feel a connection, and she left without going through the rose ceremony. After a few more conversations, it was time for Shallcross to give out his first impression rose. Others took a more memorable approach, like 25-year-old Davia, who popped some champagne and toasted with Shallcross “to the start of something new.” Gabi, 25, brought Shallcross some maple syrup from her home state of Vermont (the gesture fell a little flat when the taste of the syrup made him grimace). Perhaps the most memorable of the night was 23-year-old Vanessa, who brought a trumpet player and strutted up the driveway tossing some mardi gras beads to represent her home state of Louisiana. His next kiss was with Christina after the two of them played a compatibility game, but their moment was quickly crashed by a group of other women. “All the women impressed me so much,” Shallcross told Palmer after greeting everyone, adding that he “might have” met his future wife. The other four women will have to take another shot at getting a rose after the first cocktail party along with all the other contestants. And just like that…it’s time for the first rose ceremony. The 26-year-old, who originally appeared on Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey’s Season 19 of [The Bachelorette](http://deadline.com/tag/the-bachelorette), was introduced to 30 women who will be vying for his heart throughout the next several weeks. Before the arrivals at the mansion, the episode featured some packages from a few of Shallcross’ other suitors. You might remember that Shallcross was introduced to five contestants already during The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose — Bailey, Brianna, Brooklyn, Cat, and Christina.
It's Zach Shallcross. While he gives off strong “37-year-old guy from somewhere in the midwest” vibes, he's somehow only 26. And according to his ABC bio, he's ...
The rest of the night was the traditional scramble for the women to get time to talk to Zach before the sun rose and five girls got eliminated. One other novel tidbit: before a commercial break, there was a casting call to nominate grandparents for the show. He said they were all beautiful – “Holy [bleep],” he gushed, with all the game of For night one, she showed up in a rose-red gown, the picture of poise and grace. She kept saying “gabagool” and made Zach have a meatball-eating contest during the getting-to-know-you portion of the evening. That said, she should absolutely get all the social media followers and brand deals she can and be on her way to further success. One of the contestants is Christina Mandrell, a content creator from Nashville who explained that she’s the daughter of one of the musicians from Barbara Mandrell & the Mandrell Sisters. One of just a few Black women on the show, Brianna, 24, from New Jersey, won “America’s First Impression Rose” on a TV appearance ahead of the season. From the jump, she brought a sort of chaotic energy that might actually wake Zach up a little. She did some kind of a New York “I’m walkin’ here” Italian schtick, despite the fact that her Backstage.com resume says she is half Irish, half Chinese. He broke up with Rachel after their fantasy suite date, when he said their off-camera time together felt “inauthentic,” whatever that means in the context of a reality show. If that résumé, and Monday’s premiere, are any indicators, the 27th season of the Bachelor promises to be the dullest in all its lovelorn years.
Zach Shallcross' reputation as a “boring” Bachelor seemed sealed even before Monday's premiere began. But—surprise!— this juiceless casanova is navigating ...
But after years of dudes who specialize in peacocking, could a boring Bachelor be just the thing Bachelor Nation needs? But at the end of the day, the last thing I want to do is waste anyone’s time.” This apparently embarrassed Zach so much that when they met again on Night 1, he felt compelled to kiss Bailey immediately after she exited the limo—while her fellow contestants waited in the car just down the (wet, always wet) driveway. At the time, she made up a rhyme so that he could remember her name: “On the daily, I’m going to be thinking of Bailey.” Moments later, when asked her name, he came up with… For those who might’ve forgotten, Bailey was one of the women who met Zach at the Bachelorette finale back in September, before this season officially began. Maybe that’s why Zach—a 26-year-old who sums himself up by declaring his love for “family, football, and frozen pizza”—entered the Bachelor mansion with seemingly one mission in mind.
Mercedes Northup, the Bloomfield native who grew up showing pigs at the Iowa State Fair, made her debut during 'The Bachelor' with a pig on a leash.
Viewers can tune in and see if Northup asks Shallcross, "can I squeal you for a second?" But it wasn't all champagne clinks and rose petals: "She's manipulative," Northup said through tears in a teaser of the season to come after the episode ended. "Hello, hi," Shallcross said. Northup said, followed by a laugh in the show's infamous confessionals. "Hi, how are you?" Nothing compared to Iowa native Mercedes Northup's night one entrance during the Jan.
Tonight, 'The Bachelor' season premieres on ABC. Suzana Somers, the data analyst behind the popular Instagram account @bachelordata, has been prepping for ...
So what’s interesting about Victoria is that she’s already achieved what a lot of people go on this show to do, which is to become a full-time be-your-own-boss content creator. [undesirable and whatnot](https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/6267364/bachelor-new-zach-shallcross-boring-bachelorette/), but he is exactly what people have been asking for when it comes to how he uses social media. There’s always the conversation whenever people watch the show of “Oh, they’re not here for the right reasons; they just want to be an influencer.” It’s always been that way, even before Instagram: People went on the show to become models, actresses, E! As soon as the potential cast drops, we start collecting their first and last names, finding them on Instagram and on TikTok, and then we also start doing a little bit of research into their age, their careers, and their locations in the U.S. But with this cast in particular, what I’m finding very interesting is that we’re starting to see a change in the careers of who’s being cast on this show. The person I find most fascinating in this cast is When the season’s actually starting, we prep a lot of our novelty data like the order of the limo entrances and other things that we can anticipate people will be thinking about during that first episode. You can get a taste of her meticulous work from this video tracking finalists’ Instagram growth during the finale of the most recent season of The Bachelorette: At first, Somers shared some of her findings with die-hard fans on message boards, and in 2020, she officially launched her Instagram account, where she shares her impressive data visualizations and analysis about the show every week with her 129,000 Instagram followers (and counting). “Two months into the job, I realized I needed a way to learn, and I found that YouTube was so boring and not relatable.” While the casual viewer may just now be making plans to open a bottle of red and turn on the TV at 8 p.m., Suzana Somers, the data analyst behind the popular Instagram account [@bachelordata](https://www.instagram.com/bachelordata/?hl=en), has been prepping for this night for months. “I basically used the show as a fun way to learn Excel for the next two years,” she says.
New 'Bachelor' star Zach wasted no time getting to know the ladies on the Season 27 premiere — read our recap.
Zach then hands out a flurry of roses, sending home Lekha, who licked him when she came out of the limo, and Holland, who goes off on a drunken rant about how she deserves so much better than this. “I really do thank you for being here,” he eventually says, but “my heart wasn’t feeling it.” She leaves the house in tears, muttering to herself, “I can’t believe that I gave up my life for him.” We’ve said it already, but just for emphasis: Yikes. The other girls are starting to feel the pressure, including North Dakota native Madison, who appears to be, as Wedding Crashers put it, “a Stage 5 clinger.” She needs a kiss from Zach, so she pulls him aside and gives him a knit cap and scarf to wear, but she only gets a hug. Afterwards, she’s disappointed, calling the kiss “subpar” and “a peck” before dissolving into sobs. If you recall, when Zach was announced as the next Bachelor on “After the Final Rose,” they brought out five of the women to meet him on the spot, and viewers voted for Brianna to receive an early rose. Monday’s premiere opens with a limo full of girls dubbing our new leading man “Zach the Snack,” and we get the standard biographical rundown on Zach — although they never explain what happened between him and Rachel on The Bachelorette.
So-called "boring Bachelor" Zach Shallcross began his "journey" to find love with 30 women on 'The Bachelor' season 27 premiere.
To be fair, Cat allows the Bachelor to shove a bunch of meatballs in her mouth, too. As she continues to cry her eyes out, Zach heads back to the mansion to finish his job for the night. Eventually, Zach escapes to the relative quiet of the back patio, where Cat is waiting with a plate of meatballs. Not to be outdone, Christina takes Zach to her party bus for a "compatibility test." She also gives us the first "him and I" of the season. "Maple-y," the Bachelor sputters after taking a swig. With that out of the way, it's time to unleash the limos. The goal for me is to get married." "I am very eager to get married and I'm confident in what it is that I want." "I'm dating to find a husband eventually." After a silly "training" segment where Sean coaches Zach through some weightlifting ("curls are for the girls!" Sean also wants Bachelor Nation to know that Zach has a "funny side" that we "haven't seen yet."
The Bachelor star Zach Shallcross talks season premiere drama: kissing Greer before the first-impression rose, Madison's kiss exit and Rachel lessons.
We’re all there hopefully to find love and to be open to the chance, but you can’t force that feeling, and it’s either there or it isn’t. With Greer that night, she was able to make me feel comfortable and make me not feel like I’m just getting pulled in a million different directions, and it’s overwhelming. All of that does really play an important role to a healthy relationship, and having the chance to be on the same plane with it is important. When I was thinking back to giving a first-impression rose, it was a really good first impression of, “OK, I can relax. It was already shocking that I learned that I was the Bachelor. (Laughs.) One public display was with Greer, as some of the women noticed you kissing her, and then she ended up getting the first-impression rose. Sure, it plays a role, but the communication of it all is the most important part. What I was like looking for is, where can I find some calm — someone to just make me feel comfortable. And as viewers saw, there was a lot of quick connections where the physical connection was there immediately. It’s a good idea to have an idea of the politics that your partner has, maybe. The episode included Shallcross sharing a lengthy and public kiss with Greer Blitzer before giving her the first-impression rose, along with him saying goodbye to Madison Johnson after she initiated a kiss that was not well-received. It took some time to be like, “Wow, like this is actually happening to me.” And then you do see the reactions from viewers and fans; there’s the supportive ones, and then there’s the not-so-supportive ones.

[During the first episode](https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/pictures/bachelor-recap-zach-talks-greer-madisons-spiral-kissing-bailey/), Zach noted that he felt like his wife was among the 30 contestants who arrived at the mansion for him.
Zach Shallcross is just out here looking for his best friend.
“I cannot believe I gave up my life for him!” she sobs to the producers in the driveway. “I’ll let you go,” Zach says to end their conversation in the same way I do when I’m on the phone with someone I no longer wish to speak to. They have a normal conversation, but her obsession with getting the first impression rose causes her to pull him a second time and go in for a kiss they both instantly recognize as horrible. Christina lures him onto the party bus for a game of compatibility questions, including the critical “dinosaurs or dragons?” (Zach prefers dragons, which disappoints Christina.) One woman makes him demonstrate his future dad bona fides by changing the diaper on a baby doll, which looks possessed. Because this episode has to follow the same beats of every premiere, someone must fill the crazy role, and that someone is Madison. Zach enters the mansion to address his group of 30 women and begins with, “I’m just a dude who loves family, football, and frozen pizzas.” It’s made so much worse by the fact that he clearly rehearsed this speech and determined that was a winning opening line. One of them, Briana, already has a rose (referred to as “America’s rose”), so she’s safe. For the rest of the episode, my husband referred to her as either Balon Greyjoy ( He promises to remember her name, but how funny would it have been if he had yelled, “See you later, Brenda!” as she walked in? The final line from Zach before we transition to meet the women: “Do I deserve this? Zach is as bland and generic as most of the men who have filled the Bachelor shoes before him—the kind of guy who says “freakin’”—but he does have one wrinkle of interest (at least, of interest to me): He’s related to David Puddy. His season (all the way back in 2013, yikes) was the first time I watched The Bachelor, and you never forget your first.

Without the “this and that,” of which Shallcross speaks, the season will survive on the strength of a bachelor’s true emotional connections to multiple contestants—think Ben Higgins telling both of his final suitors that he was in love with them. Greer, who received the first-impression rose, impressed Shallcross by touting that her parents—who met in their 20s—and both sets of grandparents were still together, and that she was dead set on moving to his hometown of Austin, Texas. “Holy shit,” he declared upon seeing all of his suitors gathered in one room, before quickly adding, “I should not be cussing right now.” Shallcross’s opening remarks included the statement “I’m just a dude who loves family, football, and frozen pizzas,” without a hint of irony, alongside generic platitudes about searching for his “forever best friend.” The most shocking moment of the limo entrances—and dare we say, episode—was thanks to Shallcross himself. Greer, a 24-year-old who is prone to referring to herself in the third person, presented Shallcross with a cup of coffee allegedly all the way from New York City. Meanwhile, three of the contestants declared they wanted to be “Mrs.

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A Fargo native made her short-lived appearance on ABC's “The Bachelor” Monday night. Madison Johnson, 26, was sent home ...
Madison has worked extremely hard to get to such a great place in life and says she is more than ready to find someone to share it with. So, when it comes to her love life, her little sisters are part of a package deal. She states, while growing up she took on the role of caretaker for her two younger sisters. Later, when the first impression rose was given to another contestant, she stepped away crying. The two performed the griddy before Johnson went in for a kiss, and that’s when things went south. She went back a second time to pull Shallcross aside.
