As we reported, Bey hit the stage at Atlantis The Royal hotel in the United Arab Emirates after an almost 5-year hiatus. Bey then changed into a gold body suit with a matching corset and long train. Safe to say ... She was surrounded by dancers in large red dresses and a Middle Eastern orchestra. According to The New York Times pop culture reporter Kyle Buchanan, the second installment in the series will be an “acoustic” album, followed by a full-length collaboration with her husband, whom she previously teamed up with on 2018’s [Everything Is Love](https://hiphopdx.com/reviews/id.3185/title.review-beyonce-jay-zs-everything-is-love-is-pure-musical-matrimony). Queen Bey is also reportedly in talks to perform at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, which take place in Los Angeles on February 5. With a stage perched on the tip of Palm Jumeriah—the famous 17-fronded palm tree-shaped island in Dubai—the setting for Beyoncé’s show at Atlantis the Royal hotel last night was spectacular to begin with.

The hourlong concert was attended by over 1000 people, including the singer's family.

Since then, artists like Jay-Z, Blur, Stormzy, and the Killers have also performed in the UAE, despite growing concerns with the country’s [Beyoncé](https://pitchfork.com/artists/4910-beyonce/) performed during [the grand reveal of Atlantis the Royal](https://pitchfork.com/news/beyonce-invites-journalists-and-influencers-to-dubai-for-luxury-weekend/), a new luxury resort in Dubai. Last week, [TMZ](https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/18/beyonce-midnight-soundcheck-before-24m-dubai-gig-makes-fans-go-crazy/) speculated that Beyoncé was paid $24 million for the event. Pitchfork received an invitation to the hotel unveiling, along with several journalists, celebrities, and influencers.

On January 21, Beyoncé staged her first headlining concert in four years at the new Atlantis The Royal Resort in Dubai.

At the after-party, however, attendees were allowed their phones back and treated with complimentary Moët champagne and a performance from Swedish House Mafia. The iconic artist gave her last performance in February 2020, when she sang at Kobe and Gianna Bryant's celebrate of life. Other snippets leaked online show Beyoncé performing “ [Naughty Girl,](https://twitter.com/beyhivecombr/status/1616952719981305857)” “ [Crazy in Love](https://twitter.com/BeyonceHiveNews/status/1616899166562652160),” and “ [Brown Skin Girl](https://twitter.com/arthfobic/status/1617121244981198848),” which she sang with some help from her daughter Blue Ivy. The show included fireworks and a stunt where Beyoncé was lifted 16 feet in the air. Per Entertainment Tonight, Beyoncé performed with Firdaus, a 48-person all-female orchestra, and the Mayyas, a female dance troupe, with choreography from Fatima Robinson. The event had plenty of celebrity attendees, including Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Ellen Pompeo, Kendall Jenner, Rebel Wilson, and Jay-Z. They were even given designated pouches in which to put their phones for safe keeping, but not everyone in the audience honored the queen’s wishes, and fans all over the world are grateful.
