James Harden Says Current 76ers Team 'Is Definitely the Best ... (Bleacher Report)

The Philadelphia 76ers have hit their stride, going 16-4 since a mediocre 12-12 start to the season. They are one of the hottest teams in the NBA, and star.

He's serving as an elite facilitator and excellent secondary scorer behind Embiid, who had his sixth straight 30-point game against the Clippers and was quick to show his running mate some love. "James is doing a good job of making it easy for me. Tucker and De'Anthony Melton have brought to the table, has the Sixers looking like legitimate contenders again after a disappointing first postseason with the Embiid-Harden duo last year and a slow start this season.

The former Sixth Man of the Year believes "The Beard" has to perform better than every Sixers player not named Joel Embiid.

His value to the organization is also understated, as Philly is 19-10 when the 33-year-old suits up. [Maxey](https://www.basketballnetwork.net/tag/tyrese-maxey) and [Harris](https://www.basketballnetwork.net/tag/tobias-harris) also lit it up, putting up 22 and 20 points, respectively. "But the thing that scares me about them is, if Maxey and Tobias Harris are your second-leading guys, I'm not sure it's gonna get you far in the playoffs," Crawford said on "NBA on TNT." But they likely understand that a deep playoff run depends on [James Harden](https://www.basketballnetwork.net/tag/james-harden) providing co-star Joel Embiid with the necessary help once the postseason arrives.

For a team that is middle of the road in terms of points per game, seeing them shoot at such a high percentage from three is a great sign that they can improve their ppg very quickly. With all of the success the Sixers have had offensively this season, they haven’t had to trade their defensive identity for it. While the Sixers have been impressive, the more impressive fact is that they have done without their stars all being healthy at the same time for much of the season. However, this season, Daryl Morey’s strategy has worked great, as Tyrese Maxey, James Harden, De’Anthony Melton, Georges Niang, and Tobias Harris are all shooting 37.4% or better from the three point line, and more importantly, taking at least five three pointers a game.
