"I haven't heard who's coming back and who's going to be on the floor, but I always love coming back to San Antonio," Kerr said. In passing, he admitted shooting in the Alamodome was tough at practice but nothing compared to trying to shoot on the USS Carl Vinson. "Pretty easy," he said when asked how hard it will be to adjust his eyes and shot. The Alamodome is home to one of the greatest moments of DiVincenzo's basketball career and one of the biggest letdowns for Poole. It was raised when DiVincenzo and Poole played here, which isn't the case this time. He played four seasons with the Spurs, including his final year as a player, and won two championships in San Antonio.

The Golden State Warriors will play against the San Antonio Spurs tonight at 4:30pm PT in San Antonio. Find additional game information and more here.

Tonight, the Warriors get a matchup with a Spurs team whose 13-29 record is fourth-worst in the NBA. The bad news for Warriors fans, however, is that the team’s struggles continue to persist despite the return of their stars. The Warriors have won three out of their last five games against the Spurs dating back to last season. Fortunately for those attending tonight’s game, the Warriors are a lot healthier than they were before as Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, and Andre Iguodala have all returned to game action this week. The game is attempting to break the record for highest single-game attendance with over 62,000 tickets already sold. The game will be played at 4:30 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on ESPN.

Draymond Green accepts he probably won't be with Warriors forever ... (CBSSports.com)

Green says he understands the business of the NBA, and he's fine with it.

But saying Green is going to be, or could be, with the Warriors for a few more years, and saying he's going to be there for the rest of his career, are two different things. I would call it unlikely that Green stays with the Warriors forever. But if he opts out because he believes he can get a solid longer-term deal on the open market, it will be up to the Warriors to decide whether Green is still worth the kind of money he would take to retain his services, plus there's the cost of the tax hit the organization would incur. We want to win another championship this year, and I'll probably say that at the end of this year, too. In a recent interview with Taylor Rooks, Green was asked if it's hard for him to say there could be a day when he's not a Warrior. Team owner Joe Lacob has consistently maintained that there is a limit to the bill he's willing to foot, and if the Warriors did decide to re-sign Green on a multi-year deal this summer, that bill, depending on a few other decisions, could fly well north of $400 million including taxes, which is a figure that Lacob told The Athletic last summer was " [not even remotely possible](https://theathletic.com/3408122/2022/07/08/warriors-joe-lacob-payroll/)."

Warriors attack the rim in 144-113 win over Spurs at the Alamodome (Golden State of Mind)

They haven't been the most prolific rim-pressuring team in the league, but this win against the rebuilding Spurs allowed them to have their way in the ...

They shot 32-of-39 at the rim, an 82.1% success rate that would overwhelmingly be equivalent to the best rim FG% in the league. He’s crafty, shifty, and has burst that allows him to blow past most defenders at the point of attack. That distinction belongs to Jordan Poole, whose 369 total drives and 9.0 drives per game both lead the Warriors. However, the importance of traditional self-created rim pressure isn’t lost on them — but it is still a matter of which personnel on their roster can self-create shots at the rim. The Spurs also allow plenty of opponents to get to the rim for up-close attempts. Poeltl is smart — he knows not to make the same mistake the next time around. With Poeltl stepping up higher, Thompson makes sure to find Looney rolling to the rim. What the Spurs defense is giving above: Poeltl dropping back in the paint against Kevon Looney, who reads the situation and reacts with a dribble handoff (DHO) for Thompson. As a rim-protecting big, Poeltl’s instinct is to sink toward the paint. Their brand of rim pressure could be considered non-traditional — instead of self-created off-the-dribble drives, they rely on opportunistic cuts born out of the threat of their movement shooters. That may also be due to the heavy load that he has had to bear on defense. Even if they allow lots of rim attempts, the Spurs are a respectable 12th in opponent rim accuracy (66.1%).

Warriors share wealth in win current NBA champs badly needed vs ... (NBC Sports Bay Area)

The ball was popping all over the court in San Antonio, and everybody was involved in a win over the Spurs the players never will forget.

Those two games will be key prior to a tough back-to-back against the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA. The Warriors' minds, energy and spirit were right where they needed to be in San Antonio, giving them the kind of showcase win the defending champions badly needed. So I think the spirit and energy in the locker room postgame is something that we can build off of. I think we're heading in the right direction." "I think just the spirit and energy in a locker room postgame is something that we needed to go into this road trip, DiVincenzo said. Playing the extremely young Spurs who have a historically bad defense helps, but the Warriors never let them even sniff a chance of a win. Steph Curry recognized at Thursday's practice the Warriors need to embrace the embarrassment of having a 3-16 road record, which now is 4-16. "It's good to start this road trip with a win but also, you know, to get everybody feeling good and confident. The Warriors had 10 players available and all 10 scored. So I think passing leads to a lot of that." "Our whole game is about ball movement and sharing the ball, throwing it ahead," Kerr said after the Warriors' 31-point win. This time, he gave it up and the result was three more points for the Warriors.

"Right now he's our third big, and so I don't know that that will continue to be the rotation pattern, but we like to have either Loon or Draymond on the floor at all times," Kerr said. "So, Andre is coming in for Loon early. He's so long and athletic and versatile defensively, and then just another passer, playmaker on offense. "Tonight was tough because we had several guys out. He also had an impressive breakaway dunk halfway through the fourth quarter. What We Learned from the Spurs loss to the Warriors (Pounding The Rock)

I love the audacity of setting the single game attendance record like this. Who else can even do this and why would they even try? Someone would have to play a ...

This feels like a very fun piece of basketball history that the Spurs get to own for a while, and it feels truly unique to the franchise. I know playing basketball outdoors is risky or whatever and theres wind and blah, blah, blah, but like, they played a college game on a freakin’ aircraft carrier and it was fine. It, uh, sure seems like they have the firepower of a fully armed and operational battle station. - They only slight quibble I had with the night is that I wish they had done the court up like the old Alamodome court. I can’t get over how cool it is that they pulled this off and, on top of that, actually found a way to win me over in the process. We’ve had to reckon with what it means to be a fan of the Spurs when they aren’t a regular title contender. I marveled at the colors and the sound and the people. They were remembering how fun the old court looked and how crazy that big blue curtain they used to divide up the stadium was. The thing is, this was a blatant distraction, and it was designed to have us remember the past. They know there isn’t a lot of fun on the horizon this season and they decided to do something about it. They saw that they probably had one of the worst teams in the league on their hands and decided they were going to go ahead and set the single game attendance record anyway. The entire organization was trying to get us to focus on the glory of the past so we might conveniently forget about the woes of the present.

Warriors notebook: Andre Iguodala's early impact, Draymond Green ... (The Mercury News)

SAN ANTONIO — Andre Iguodala has had his fingerprints all over the first half of the season despite not playing until Game 40 earlier this month.

Later in the fourth, Iguodala soared to the basket for his second dunk since his season debut Jan. “He’s playing well, he’s moving well,” Draymond Green said. So Andre is coming in for Loon early, play the four with Draymond at the five. Iguodala knocked down a 3 to keep the Spurs defense honest in the first quarter. He won’t play Sunday in Chicago, though, missing the game with hip soreness. And that’s been the case through his first three games of the season.

Draymond Green on future with Warriors: 'The writing is on the wall' (NBC Sports)

Draymond Green has a player option for next season and after he didn't get an extension there is a lot of talk about his future with the Warriors.

Green and the Warriors are focused on this season and another ring. Even for Warriors ownership and the cash cow that is the new Chase Center, things are getting expensive and some cuts may need to be made. But for now, that’s just a cloud on the horizon. Which could lead to trade talk over the summer. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment. You’re setting yourself up for heartbreak.

Warriors Embrace Special Alamodome Atmosphere Featuring ... (NBC New York)

The Warriors' win over the Spurs at the Alamodome was special for everyone on the court as 68323 fans helped set an NBA attendance record.

It's a special place and tonight was a great display of how special the Spurs are and how special San Antonio is. Taking a trip down memory lane was an emotional one for Kerr, one that speaks to the Spurs' organization and the night as a whole. So it was definitely once the lights came on and the flashlights came on, that's when it kind of hit that that's how many people were there." Shout out to the NBA, shout out to the Warriors, shout out to the Spurs for putting together an amazing event. "There was people all the way up to the top. San Antonio commemorated its 50th anniversary with their return to the Alamodome. The night also was about much more. When the two future Warriors teammates battled against each other in college, the announced attendance was 67,831. Steph Curry, who so many fans were there to see, called the event "special from the jump." So to be able to play in this building twice, one in college, one in the pros, is definitely an experience that I'll definitely cherish for a while." Whispers turned to laughs and smiles about what Friday night's atmosphere would be against the San Antonio Spurs.

"And so, I think that one was kind of like the icing on the cake for all of it," Green said. "Now all of a sudden, we're the supervillains and so that one was like, 'Oh, we're the supervillains? "The fourth one was like the biggest 'f--- you' -- I have no better way of explaining it," he said. As a result, pundits and fans alike wondered aloud if the Warriors' dynasty had come to an end. After losing the 2016 NBA Finals to those same Cavaliers in epic fashion, Kevin Durant joined the Warriors that offseason. I'll never forget, maybe 10 games into the season, we're all looking at each other like, 'Hey, we can win a championship.'
