Around 7 p.m., an investigator is seen shining their flashlight at the front of the building, scanning the siding and roofline for about a minute. Walshe bought it for $800,000 in 2020 and sold it for $1.385 million in March 2022, the Globe reported. Police launch another search from the parking lot of a Stop & Shop near the Cohasset residence. Police say Brian Walshe is cooperating with the investigation. Walshe initially acquired the real paintings from a friend in South Korea, and told the friend that he could sell them for a good price. Ana Walshe regularly commuted between the two cities, and owns a home in Washington. Cohasset police announce that Ana Walshe is missing. Once the paintings were transferred, the buyer examined them and found multiple indications that the paintings were not authentic. A person in Los Angeles found the paintings listed on eBay in 2016, and agreed to buy them for $80,000.

“The fact that he was asked a specific question and he gave an untruthful answer that led investigators out of the area caused a clear delay in the search for the missing person, Ana Walshe.” The FBI investigators allege Brian or Ana used her eBay account to sell the paintings in November 2016, less than a year after they were married. The attorney also noted he has given multiple interviews with police and consented to search of his properties. Surveillance video does show he went to Home Depot on January 2 and bought $450 of cleaning supplies, including mops, a bucket and tarps, the prosecutor said. The document also alleges Brian Walshe took real artwork from a friend to sell, but never did. He also agreed to either return the artworks or pay for them. A not guilty plea was entered on Brian Walshe’s behalf. Police have spent days searching for her in the area around their home in Cohasset, a town about 20 miles southeast of Boston. Her cell phone also pinged at her home overnight on January 1st into the 2nd, Beland said. Investigators turned their focus from a missing persons case to suspicion she may have been killed after receiving new information in the last three days, the sources told CNN. Brian Walshe claimed he went to visit his mother after his wife’s disappearance, they said. The trash was brought to the station by sanitation crews early last week, the source said.
