Vikings at Packers Game Observations: Slip Ups on Field Mean No ... (Vikings.com)

Minnesota's chance at the No. 1 seed in the NFC Playoffs proved as slippery as the playing surface at Lambeau Field. The Vikings needed to win their final ...

Substitution woes: The Packers converted a third-and-10 with an 11-yard pass to Randall Cobb when the Vikings only had 10 defenders on the field and got a fresh set of downs when Minnesota was flagged for having 12 men on the field while trying to make another substitution. He finished 4-of-4 passing with 57 yards and a passer rating of 158.3. Dalvin Cook was tackled for a loss of 1 as Minnesota again tried to run up the middle after Chris Reed replaced Schlottmann. The loss dropped the Vikings to 12-4 on the season and moved the Eagles (13-3) another step closer to the No. The two snaps netted a loss of 1. Minnesota would need to win next week at Chicago and have San Francisco lose to Arizona in Week 18 in order to get back to the No. Kene Nwangwu averaged 28.2 yards on five kickoff returns for a total of 141. Minnesota tried a run up the gut on second down (Schlottmann was injured) and again on third. Minnesota blocked a punt early but failed to take advantage of getting the ball at the Green Bay 1-yard line. Kirk Cousins finished 18-of-31 passing with 205 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions for a passer rating of 49.2. San Francisco (12-4) was able to leapfrog Minnesota for the No. the Packers at Lambeau Field.

The Good, Bad And Ugly From The Green Bay Packers' Win Over ... (Forbes)

Keisean Nixon returned a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown Sunday, the first time Green Bay had a kick return for a TD in more than 11 years.

THIS AND THAT: Adrian Amos had his first interception of the year and the 10th of his career. THIS AND THAT: The Packers had a fourth-and-1 at Minnesota’s 39-yard line midway through the first quarter and went for it. It was the longest field goal by a Green Bay kicker in Lambeau Field history and the second-longest of Crosby’s career. “I hit a good enough ball that whatever happened in that situation, I knew I hit it the way I needed to. “That’s not what I had in mind and what we had in mind as a team. And the interception TD was the first of Savage’s career. But I do believe in the power of manifestation and I do believe in momentum and I believe very strongly in the force of the mind. Dillon added 41 yards and a touchdown and Green Bay’s offensive line got the better of Minnesota’s defensive front throughout. Packers’ cornerback Rasul Douglas deflected the ball and it bounced right to Savage, who made his first interception of the year. I think I beat him to the end zone, too, when I was running because I knew he was going. But in Green Bay’s biggest game of the year, its defense stole the show. Green Bay, Detroit and Seattle (all 8-8) are tied for the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC.

3 Things To Know About the Minnesota Vikings (Zone Coverage)

The Green Bay Packers' season once seemed dead in the water, with no postseason hopes at all. However, it is somehow miraculously still hanging by a.

The Packers will rely on LaFleur’s experience to guide them to a win and pressure this Vikings team early. Getting the Vikings to chase the game and keep it out of reach is the best way to beat them. If the Packers want to win this game, they have to commit multiple men to stopping No. 18 and force the Vikings to beat them with someone else. The Vikings need a win to maintain control of the No. [Justin Jefferson](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JeffJu00.htm?utm_medium=linker&utm_source=zonecoverage.com&utm_campaign=2022-12-30_pfr) is on the verge of history in his third season. The Packers have managed to go on a three-game win streak and now have the hot hand going into the most important part of the season. The only multiple-score win the Vikings have was over the Packers in Week 1, but their entire team believes they can fight their way back. There have been times when the Vikings have looked dead in the water, like when they were down 17 points in Buffalo or down 33 at the half against the Indianapolis Colts. With two games left, the Packers need to win out and get some help across the league to qualify for the playoffs. NFC Playoff Picture: Vikings Fall to No. 3 Seed After Losing in Green ... (Sports Illustrated)

The 49ers survived a scare against the Raiders and jumped up to the second seed thanks to Minnesota's loss.

An Eagles loss would open the door for the 49ers to take the 1 seed with a win. The 49ers also still have a chance to be the No. There's also the interesting possibility that the suddenly red-hot Packers beat the Lions next week to get the seventh seed and then flip the script on the 49ers by upsetting them in the wild card round. It's far from a guarantee that being the third seed means the Vikings will be heading west to face the 49ers in the divisional round. From a short-term perspective, you could actually argue that being the third seed and facing the Giants is preferable to being the second seed and playing either the Packers, Seahawks, or Lions. 2 seed is with a win over the Bears and a shocking Cardinals upset over the 49ers.

How the Vikings fell apart against the Packers (Sports Illustrated)

GREEN BAY, Wisc. — The Minnesota Vikings had a shot at Lambeau Field to eliminate the Green Bay Packers from playoff contention and quiet those who are ...

“We made a point throughout the week…you are never going to force people to wear [longer spikes] but it was strongly encouraged and a lot of our roster has played up here before,” O’Connell said. “They did a good job all game long of bringing the backside safety to prevent you from throwing those posts.” Instead of 17-10, the Packers turned the error into a touchdown of their own and stretched the lead to 24-3. The Vikings were trailing 17-3 with a chance to close the gap to one score with 6:00 remaining in the second quarter. “Secondly, it’s tough to do that twice on the same team…it’s tough only getting one catch in the game and wanting to be a big part of the offense.” Coming out of halftime, Minnesota’s defense forced a quick punt and Cousins got the offense rolling but on second-and-10 at the Green Bay 15-yard line, monster defensive tackle Kenny Clark strip-sacked Cousins. Green Bay returned it for a touchdown to take a 14-3 lead midway through the first quarter. “I was trying to be aggressive on fourth down to TJ,” Cousins explained. But the tides quickly turned as the Vikings allowed a 105-yard touchdown return to Keisean Nixon. This time around they had a very different plan, putting star corner Jaire Alexander on him at the line of scrimmage with plenty of help over the top. “It’s a factor, especially when you talk about being on your backup center to start and then having your third guy go in.” — The Minnesota Vikings had a shot at Lambeau Field to eliminate the Green Bay Packers from playoff contention and quiet those who are questioning their candidacy as a true contender when the postseason arrives.

We won the NFC North, and we're going to the playoffs likely as a No. Take teams to the wire but only be able to play a spoiler role by the end of the season? I don't plan on listening to it and hope the team doesn't either. I am so tired of people nitpicking and criticizing certain players, like Kirk, stating we should get rid of them, like that is the answer to a loss. The Vikings equipment staff increases the amount of gear and options for players when going to outdoor venues, particularly Lambeau Field late in the season. Yes, the Vikings did have much to play for, but the Packers also had a good deal to play for in their attempt to rally and make the postseason after entering December 4-8. I would like to see the Vikings get to the SB one more time before I leave this earth. The Pack were playing for their lives, and we were playing for a paycheck. The Vikings are kind of caught in between trying to be as healthy as possible for the postseason with a shot at the No. was held in check, and nothing was done to mitigate the situation. The Vikings are 10-2 on turf and 2-2 on grass. Our poor level of play and effectiveness on both sides of the ball were surprising to me, especially with the No.

Packers Report Card: Grades From Victory Over Vikings (Sports Illustrated)

The Green Bay Packers scored a touchdown in all three phases in routing the Minnesota Vikings. Here is the weekly report card.

In 2010, the Packers were 8-6 and chasing a playoff spot when they destroyed the Giants in the next-to-last game of the season. In 2022, the Packers were 7-8 and chasing a playoff spot when they destroyed the Vikings in the next-to-last game. On third-and-1 in the third quarter, Deguara lined up directly behind and to the right of Aaron Rodgers and led a toss to Jones for 31. Either way, the Packers have done well to get to 8-8 with a chance to reach the playoffs next week. Josiah Deguara had a big block at the point of attack, Patrick Taylor had the final block and Nixon ran past kicker Greg Joseph. With a win in the Super Bowl next month? This marked the first time the Packers had a kickoff-return touchdown and a pick-six in the same game since 1967. Jones on the perimeter is a thing of beauty because tight end Marcedes Lewis is a beast at the point of attack, tight end Josiah Deguara is excellent as the de facto fullback and receivers Allen Lazard and Christian Watson never are shy from the dirty work. The lone deep completion was the 21-yarder to Tonyan, who was open an hour ago, was open now and will be open tomorrow. Sunday was mostly a forgettable performance from the passing game. The defense scored a touchdown on Darnell Savage’s 75-yard pick-six. The special teams scored a touchdown on Keisean Nixon’s 105-yard kickoff return.
