Clemson Football: Announcers, TV, streaming – How to watch ... (Rubbing The Rock)

It's finally game day as Clemson football takes on the Tennessee Volunteers in the Capital One Orange Bowl Friday at 8 p.m. in Hardrock Stadium.

With a month to prepare and become the unquestioned leader of the team, this will be Klubnik’s first game with real expectations and will be seen as either a springboard to 2023 or leave Clemson faithful with a bunch of questions moving forward. Undoubtedly the biggest storyline from a Clemson perspective is Cade Klubnik’s first start as the Tigers quarterback. Here is the game information and how to watch, including a streaming option. Clemson enters the game as a 5.5-point favorite and the total is 63.5. Tennessee football vs. Clemson Orange Bowl game: Our final score ... (Knoxville News Sentinel)

Here's our staff predictions for the Capital One Orange Bowl game between Tennessee football and Clemson on Friday.

Clemson 41, Tennessee 27: We got a look at Clemson with Cade Klubnik at the controls of the offense in the ACC Championship. But Tennessee’s beleaguered secondary likely will remain an Achilles heel, even against a freshman quarterback. We got a look at Tennessee without linebacker Jeremy Banks in the Vols’ loss to South Carolina. But the Tigers have been much better than the Vols on defense. Clemson, on the other hand, is coming off an upset loss to South Carolina in the final game of the regular season. Don't be surprised if Tennessee scores a lot of point but still suffers some hiccups.

Missing the point: Clemson struggles to score in Orange Bowl loss to ... (The State)

Who won the 2022 Orange Bowl? Cade Klubnik, Dabo Swinney sought a win over the UT Vols in Miami Florida's Hard Rock Stadium.

Clemson backed up Tennessee into a third and 9 on the next possession, but Milton – as he did all night – had an answer. The Tigers’ only first-half scoring came from Potter, who just snuck in a 31-yard field goal in the second quarter. Clemson’s offense averaged a strong 5.2 yards per play and got good production from a number of lesser utilized skill position players such as wide receivers Joseph Ngata and Cole Turner. That poor decision left at least three, if not seven, points on the board for Clemson, and Swinney wasn’t happy. Trailing 14-3, Clemson had a second and 15 at Tennessee’s 18-yard line with 20 seconds left and no timeouts. After reaching that mark, coach Dabo Swinney’s program went 3-3 over their last six games, still smarting from the self-inflicted errors that led to key losses to Notre Dame, South Carolina and, here on Friday, Tennessee.

The Tigers also failed on a fake field goal attempt on their first drive, which isn’t Potter’s fault but is worth mentioning. Potter is normally one of the nation’s most reliable kickers, but he was nowhere close to that on Friday night. The [highly-touted freshman](https://clutchpoints.com/dabo-swinney-gets-real-on-his-level-of-confidence-in-cade-klubnik-for-clemsons-orange-bowl-clash-vs-tennessee) will likely play better in the future, but this was a rough first start. If the Tigers want to return to being a national title contender, the offensive line must take a big step forward. Potter went 2-for-5 on field goals in the Orange Bowl, connecting from 31 and 40 yards out while missing from 42, 49 and 55. The offensive line let the Tigers down on Friday night, as freshman quarterback Cade Klubnik was running for his life every other play. Clemson had two turnovers, went 0-for-3 on fourth down and missed three field goals in the game. Potter set the Clemson school record with his 73rd made field goal of his career on Friday night. If one were to look at the stats for this game, one would think that Clemson won handily. Despite finishing with 164 rushing yards, the Tigers averaged just 3.6 yards per carry, well below their season average of 4.6 yards. Clemson also played a much cleaner game, with four penalties for 45 yards compared to Tennessee’s nine for 110 yards. [Clemson football](https://clutchpoints.com/clemson-football-news-dabo-swinneys-response-critics-orange-bowl-loss-tennessee) had a very disappointing end to its season on Friday night.

What Dabo Swinney, Cade Klubnik said about Clemson football ... (Greenville News)

Clemson football freshman quarterback Cade Klubnik had some ups and downs in his debut as the Tigers' starter in Orange Bowl defeat.

Clemson won 39-10 and Klubnik was named the game’s MVP after coming on in relief of a struggling DJ Uiagalelei, who ultimately transferred, and connecting on 20-of-24 passes for 279 yards and a touchdown. You can easily see how talented he is and what a great player he’s going to be. The effort, both by Klubnik and the offense, stood in stark contrast to their victory against North Carolina in the ACC Championship Game on Dec. “We were driving on them every single drive. There were just a lot of missed opportunities. “He made a lot of great plays, but he also had some mistakes – simple as that.”

What We Learned From Clemson's Stinging Loss to Vols in Orange ... (Clemson Maven)

From lost opportunities to the game plan with Cade Klubnik to Will Shipley's first-half usage, there are a list of takeaways from Clemson's bowl game loss ...

[Wes Goodwin](https://www.si.com/college/college-football/team/clemson-tigers)'s side of the ball for much in this loss. The Orange Bowl was a game where the Tigers desperately needed the defense to make a play that either resulted in a touchdown or led to one. You live with it, and the Tigers did enough with four sacks and eight tackles for a loss to give the offense chances to take control of the game. Just line up with your offense and don't put the play in the hands of a trick that isn't easy to execute. Want to join in on the discussion? Obviously, the coaching staff saw an opportunity to take advantage of a Vols pass defense that barely ranked in the top 100 nationally, and attacking a team's weakness is the right strategy. [Brandon Streeter](https://www.si.com/college/college-football/team/clemson-tigers) admitted that he should've gotten Shipley the ball more early. The staff has said several times this year that Shipley needed to be more involved, like in the South Carolina game when they went away from him in the fourth quarter despite his ability to gash the Gamecocks' [defense](https://www.si.com/college/college-football/team/clemson-tigers). He still made some good throws, but the ball seem to hang in the air far too long, and the situation overwhelmed a young player at times. That's the most in those two categories in a loss in school history. It was their third loss of the season, and the third time it looked like they were outcoached. It is the season definer for a lot of people.

Five takeaways from Clemson's Orange Bowl loss to Tennessee (Clemson Wire)

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program ended their season in a tough way Friday night as the Tigers fell 31-14 in the Orange Bowl to Josh Heupel and ...

Anyone who knows me and follows my writing knows I love Dabo Swinney, but man, the Tigers have been outcoached multiple times this season in some of their biggest games of the season. I believe it was just five touches Shipley had in the first half, which should infuriate a guy like Shipley, who should be given the opportunity to have a real impact on the game. Apparently, not in this case, as Clemson star running back Will Shipley ended the game with just 21 touches in a game where he should have gotten every look they could get him. Offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter has consistently confused Clemson fans with his play calling, which remained the same in the Orange Bowl. However, that was the case in the Orange Bowl, as the Tigers’ offensive line completely lost the battle up front. Tennessee played a great game, but time after time, it felt as if the Tigers were once again playing their opponents as well as themselves in this game.
