Florida State’s 6-foot-7 receiver, Johnny Wilson, came into the game with 35 catches for 695 yards and five touchdowns this season. It was a massive homefield advantage for Florida State, with the Seminoles accounting for most of the near-sellout crowd of 61,520. On the former, Woodi Washington and Jeffrey Johnson teamed to toss FSU tailback Trey Benson for a yard loss in the first quarter, setting the tone for the physical game. Travis also was effective on rollout passes, completing three of four for 43 yards. OU turned away the Seminoles three times on fourth down, including a fourth-and-1 and a fourth-and-3.
