(Even Clooney earns a musical number as part of his salute, though, as Dianne Reeves pops up to serenade the actor-director with “How High the Moon,” a standard she sang in his “Good Night, and Good Luck” film 17 years ago.) Kudos, anyway, to CBS for keeping all the anti-antisemitism stuff in (even if they probably would have taken hell for cutting it after Cohen’s routine was so widely reported). Broadway icon Chita Rivera and news anchor Katie Couric presented her the awards. [Terreon Gully](/topic/terreon-gully), Martin Wind, and John Beasley in the tribute video, which was narrated by Brad Pitt. Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff, as well as President Joe [Biden](/topic/biden)and First Lady Jill Biden, all attended the event. Grant was the first modern Christian artist to be given the distinction. On December 4, the Kennedy Center Opera House stage was used to shoot the star-studded gala, which as usual included some outstanding performances.
