How Apple Arcade Has Grown Quietly in the Shadow of Nintendo ... (CNET)

Exclusive: Apple's answer to the competition has been to offer casual games for a flat fee, and it's working.

Apple Arcade appeals to a wide range of players of all ages and backgrounds, and so should the teams that make the games. We want to ensure we're bringing the best content and gaming experiences to our subscribers from developers that also uphold our values of innovation, creativity, diversity and inclusion. We provide developers an opportunity to create the games they want without worrying about monetization mechanics, which in turn, provides players with innovative games that may not have seen the light of day without Apple Arcade. Q: Now that Apple Arcade is entering its third year, where is the service in terms of expectations? We continue to identify and work with new talent as well as developers who have created many of the best games in history, both on mobile and other platforms. So we saw another great opportunity to offer our subscribers a collection of classic games along with award-winning titles from the App Store, but with all the benefits that players love about the service. We want to be able to provide our subscribers with an amazing catalog of high-quality games of all shapes and sizes. As for one of the biggest knocks against the service — that it doesn't have a flagship exclusive game like Halo on Xbox and Mario on Nintendo — Fischer says Apple sees a lot of potential in Sneaky Sasquatch from RAC7, one of the service's top games, with a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. The catalog was quickly praised for its high-quality content, and we saw a lot of interest from players from all over the world. We want to ensure we're bringing the best content and gaming experiences to our subscribers from developers that also uphold our values of innovation, creativity, diversity, and inclusion." In addition to the main character of Cardpocalypse being in a wheelchair, The Get Out Kids featured a Muslim family — one of the first times I'd seen representation like that in a video game. When Arcade launched in September 2019, Apple firmly planted its flag between free and paid games by promising players access to the full experience of any game in its subscription.

Three Music Legends Collaborated on One Nintendo Game. Sparks ... (WIRED)

Grant Kirkhope, Yoko Shimomura, and Gareth Coker describe the musical journey of scoring Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

His score for Kingdom Battle retains all of the quirkiness you’d associate with Kirkhope’s music but breaks enough boundaries to give the franchise a distinct musical style. With its fusion of turn-based strategy and RPG mechanics, the Mario + Rabbids franchise has more in common with XCOM than Super Mario Bros. French impressionism, chromatic harmonies, and Marvel music aren’t words you’d use to describe the music in a Mario game.

GoldenEye 007 coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023 (App Trigger)

With just a few days left in the year, it seems almost certain that the Nintendo 64 classic GoldenEye 007 will be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023.

When it does come, fans can look forward to local co-op on the Nintendo Switch version — a feature that will be missing from the game when it also arrives on Xbox. At the time it was announced as “coming soon” for those with a subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. However, it clearly was mentioned for 2023 in Australia.

Gamer Shows Off Jaw-Dropping Nintendo-Themed Room (Game Rant)

A hardcore Nintendo fan showcases an amazing collection of consoles and merchandise that the company has produced over the years.

Given that many fellow fans are probably looking forward to a longer, more in-depth look at dreamlandgem and retrokong's wonderful Nintendo collection and themed room, hopefully a longer video will be shared by the TikTok users sometime in the future. However, the sole video on retrokong's TikTok account shows off their current collection of Nintendo amiibo figures, which is massive, to say the least. Starting on one side, the video pans to the right and fellow fans will see a variety of

10 Best Nintendo Kings, Ranked (Game Rant)

Nintendo has its fair share of royalty across its numerous franchises. These are some of the most iconic kings.

He spends most of Wind Waker in the form of a boat, as he is the true identity of the King of Red Lions boat that Link uses to travel the Great Sea. However, it’s clear that his position as a ruler is a cruel, dictatorial one that leads to the people living in ruin. This may explain his desire to kidnap Peach so often, as this would allow him to gain control of the Mushroom Kingdom and expand his domain. However, in Wind Waker, the king plays a much greater role than in other titles, appearing in person to aid in Link’s quest. His most notable appearance is in Ocarina of Time, where he can be found sitting in a room full of waterfalls on a throne that requires a staircase to reach. The second time is as an adult where the Zora Kingdom has been frozen solid, including King Zora himself. He later shows up in Mother 3 having assumed the identity of King P, a dictatorial figure who has appointed himself ruler of New Pork City, a metropolis somewhere on the Nowhere Islands. The party first encounters him as they seek entrance to Prison Island, an island belonging to the High Entia that contains a powerful being. He even joins the party briefly during the early game, but his cowardice means he does nothing of use in battle. However, he’s far from the most regal of kings in his behavior. He even upgrades to an even bigger one in the World Circuit. when he’s fought as the champion of the Minor Circuit.
