Fifty-five national NFL experts made picks for the Kansas City Chiefs-Seattle Seahawks game. Here is who they are predicting and TV info.

Kansas City is a double-digit favorite at home.” [A 34-26 Chiefs victory](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-picks-predictions-week-16/xsrvolub98niagsggcafymau) is the forecast from Bill Bender of the Sporting News. Patrick Mahomes is still the best player on the planet, and Travis Kelce is about as reliable as a Toyota Hilux.” [The Chiefs were the pick](https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/12/22/pfts-nfl-week-16-2022-picks/) for the writers at Pro Football Talk. [The five experts](https://www.espn.com/nfl/picks) at ESPN picked the Chiefs: Matt Bowen, Mike Clay, Dan Graziano, Laura Rutledge and Seth Wickersham. This is a snippet of his story: “Kansas City is happy to be back at home after a three-game road stint – and they keep pace in the race for home-field advantage in the AFC. He wrote: “It’s another AFC West reunion, and the team that owns the AFC West should remind Seattle why they should be glad that they got out when they did.” [Seven of the eight writers](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/picks/experts/straight-up/16/) at CBS Sports have the Chiefs winning: Jason LaCanfora, Pete Prisco, Jared Dubin, Will Brinson, John Breech, Ryan Wilson and Jamey Eisenberg. The Athletic writers wrote: “The Chiefs will look to use Saturday’s game against Seattle to improve their chances at a first-round bye, while a Seahawks win would increase their chances of playing their way into the postseason. He wrote: “The Seahawks and Geno Smith were a great story early this season, but the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes will deliver a big blow to their diminishing playoff hopes.” Mike Florio sees a 31-20 score. The unit, with its lackluster pass rush and suspect secondary, is set to get cooked by Patrick Mahomes at the peak of his powers, with his second MVP in sight. Here is who 55 national experts are predicting will win the game, which kicks off at noon and will air on WDAF-TV (Ch. [All three writers](https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-predictions-picks-lock-upset-week-16-2022/) at Pro Football Network took the Chiefs: Adam Beasley (29-21 final score), Dallas Robinson (34-24) and Dalton Miller (34-28). Since then, the Seahawks have been back to Kansas City just twice: in 2006 and 2014. From 1977 through 2001, the Seattle Seahawks traveled to Arrowhead Stadium once a season.

Chiefs eying AFC's playoff bye, Seahawks a postseason spot (KY3)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs can't climb into first place in the AFC and secure that coveted first-round playoff bye with a win over ...

“It’s just another challenge along the way that we’ve got to overcome.” We’ve got to catch the interceptions, we’ve got to stay onsides and not give them things. Even though it still allowed 170 yards, it held the 49ers to 3.5 per carry until a long run late in the game. And backup DeeJay Dallas is still trying to come back from a high ankle sprain. The Seahawks have things to clean up, too. [squeaking by the past few weeks](https://pro32.ap.org/article/chiefs-continue-squeak-against-leagues-lowly-teams), hardly looking like the juggernaut that’s been to two of the past three Super Bowls. And while Marquise Goodwin has been a nice addition, and former first-rounder Laquon Treadwell could see some snaps, Lockett’s absence is going to mean Metcalf gets more attention. [who is riding a streak of 20 consecutive completions](https://pro32.ap.org/article/chiefs-mahomes-making-mvp-bid-more-balanced-approach), “is that you just focus on getting better as a team. We’ve got to play really sharp football across the board,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. They lost at Cincinnati, barely held on against downtrodden Denver and needed overtime last week to beat one-win Houston and maintain their hopes of the No. They’ve been though this so they understand it,” said Chiefs coach Andy Reid, whose team has hosted the past four AFC title games. Buffalo has the head-to-head tiebreaker by virtue of its win earlier this season.

Predictions for Chiefs vs. Seahawks, Week 16 (Chiefs Wire)

The Chiefs Wire staff shares their predictions for the Kansas City Chiefs' upcoming Week 16 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

I also expect the Chiefs’ defense to actually generate some pressure since the Seahawks don’t have a good offensive line. The Chiefs will need to focus on running the game and win at the line of scrimmage against Seattle’s defensive line. In the end, I don’t think the Seahawks can keep up with the Chiefs and I expect Chris Jones to have a big day against a mediocre Seattle offensive line. On paper, the Chiefs should take care of Seattle handily given the latter’s injuries on both sides of the ball. The Seahawks will be without key starters in Tyler Lockett, Al Woods and Ryan Neal. I expect them to play hard and be well prepared by future hall-of-fame coach Pete Carroll, but will that be enough to overcome all the injuries Seattle is suffering through?

Chiefs vs. Seahawks Inactives: Who's In, Who's Out? (Chiefs Digest)

The Kansas City Chiefs' injury report has led to the team announcing its inactive players for their Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Bell, who got injured during the preseason, is officially active for the Chiefs and will make his season debut on Saturday. Kansas City, on the other hand, comes into Week 16 tied with the Buffalo Bills for the best record in the AFC. Standing at 7-7 and currently being one spot shy of making the playoffs in the NFC, the Seahawks are in major need of an upset win on the road in order to spoil the Chiefs' holiday and keep their own ship afloat.

Chiefs-Seahawks: 5 questions with the enemy (Arrowhead Pride)

We welcome Field Gulls for answers to five questions about the Seattle Seahawks before Saturday's Week 16 matchup.

That’s not to say that Seattle can’t win the game, but it’s certainly not unlikely for the Chiefs to win in convincing fashion. That said, due to the weather conditions, a 16-7 game in cold weather could easily be a convincing victory. Add in a run defense that has been extremely porous of late and it’s a recipe for a blowout. Another win or two certainly wouldn’t hurt the feelings of fans — but at this point, between a defense that hasn’t been able to stop opponents and an offensive line that has struggled in recent weeks, the reality has set in for most fans: the team likely wasn’t as good as its record made it appear during the first half of the year. Certainly, but there will likely be a significant portion of the fanbase that would be very vocal if the team signs him to a contract similar to the Russell Wilson contract they unloaded to Denver in the spring. What will the Seattle defense need to do to get a better outcome? But the tag is likely to require $32.5 million of cap space, which is more effective cap space than the team is projected to have in 2023 — and there are several other spots on the roster that need to be addressed as well. Whether or not that will be the case again this season remains to be seen, so don’t be surprised if Seattle turns to heavy usage of multiple tight end sets on offense for both its ground and air attacks. This is one of those questions that fans have debated through much of the season — and will likely continue to debate into the offseason until there is some sort of resolution to the question. Lockett is the reliable receiver who is always open in space and can move the chains on third down. Chiefs vs. Seahawks weather updates: Frigid temperatures in ... (Sporting News)

It's going to get frigid at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, as cold temperatures are in the forecast for the Chiefs-Seahawks Week 16 game on Saturday.

That would be second-coldest game in Seahawks history, behind their wild-card win at Minnesota (minus-6) in January of 2016.— Brady Henderson (@BradyHenderson) The National Weather Service is forecasting a clear, sunny day on Saturday, so the only concern will be the temperature. The Chiefs are familiar with cold weather. There won't be many changes to their routines, as the Chiefs and Seahawks have dealt with this kind of weather previously. There is no wind or snow concerns in Kansas City for the Saturday afternoon game. The gusts have now risen to potentially hit as high as 32 mph. It would only trail the 2016 Wild Card game against the Vikings when temperatures hit -6 degrees. The Commanders are in the final wild card spot in the NFC with their 7-6-1 record, so the Seahawks are right there. With Buffalo owning the tiebreaker, Kansas City needs to finish with a better record to earn the bye. Seattle is 7-7 and on the outside of the playoff picture. It doesn’t look great, but it keeps my neck warm," The Chiefs locked up their seventh-consecutive AFC West division title in Week 15.

Chiefs-Seahawks LIVE updates: Chiefs' defense keeping 17-3 lead ... (Arrowhead Pride)

Kansas City is hosting Seattle for a Week 16 game on Christmas Eve.

Seattle scored on the next play, tightening the score to 24-10 with two and a half minutes to go. As the quarterback scrambled right, he got enough of the edge on a defender — stretching and leaping to tap the pylon for a touchdown. It gave the Seahawks the ball with under a minute left — but Chris Jones eventually put their last-second attempt to rest, sacking Smith to end the game. He flew to tackle a pass in the flat, turning the ball over on downs. Deep in Chiefs’ territory, defensive tackle Chris Jones blew up a run play — which set up Smith to be intercepted on an attempt to the end zone by Thornhill. Pacheco took over to begin the next possession, gaining six yards on a carry — then taking a screen pass for a 32-yard gain. The Chiefs’ defense began their fourth possession still without allowing a first down for the game — and that continued with this drive. A few snaps later, wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling failed to get two feet in bounds on a throw to the sideline — which forced Kansas City to settle for a punt. The Chiefs’ defense continued to hold Seattle down, forcing two incompletions after a short run on first down. After ignoring the ground game on the opening drive, the Chiefs came out with three handoffs to Pacheco — who took them and gained 17 yards to help earn two first downs. A quick pass to tight end Noah Gray got the ball rolling on the Chiefs’ first possession, gaining eight yards — but followed that up with two straight incompletions. A three and out led to a punt.

Four Takeaways From the Chiefs' 24-10 Win Over the Seahawks (Chiefs Digest)

The Kansas City Chiefs squared off against the Seattle Seahawks in NFL Week 16 action, and there was plenty to take away from the game.

Poor kickoff coverage on a return in the first quarter gave the Seahawks some favorable field position, Tommy Townsend had a 22-yard punt in the first half and the coverage team also kicked a ball on a separate punt. First-round pick George Karlaftis made his presence felt in the first half against the Seahawks, ending a drive with a batted pass and also recording a sack on Geno Smith. Kansas City held Seattle to 98 total yards and 3.3 yards per play in the first half and put on a tackling display all afternoon. That competitive edge was back in a major way early on in Week 16, as the Seahawks didn't log a first-down conversion until more than seven minutes had elapsed in the second quarter. That, in conjunction with an impressive performance from Steve Spagnuolo's defense (more on that later), was more than enough for the home team to secure a 24-10 victory. Andy Reid's team was on a mission early in the afternoon, getting out to a lead and never surrendering it for the remainder of the contest.

Chiefs reach 12-win mark for 5th straight year with Christmas Eve ... (Kansas City Star)

The defense set the tone, Patrick Mahomes scored a diving touchdown and the Chiefs can now look ahead to their final two games before the playoffs.

The Chiefs’ second of two first-round picks this year has now recorded a sack in four of the past five games, much to the delight of one of his teammates. Mahomes connected with tight end Travis Kelce on a 27-yard strike that moved the Chiefs to the Seahawks’ 9-yard line. The Chiefs entered Saturday with eight turnovers over their past four games. But it made perfect sense for Sneed to travel with Metcalf because of Sneed’s size and experience. The Chiefs improved to 12-3, becoming the third team in NFL history to record at least 12 regular-season wins in five consecutive seasons. The Seahawks finally got into the end zone late in the game. Buffalo does hold the head-to-head tiebreaker should the Bills and Chiefs finish the season tied. Five plays later, Mahomes connected with wide receiver Kadarius Toney for an 8-yard touchdown that gave the Chiefs a 7-0 lead. Neither team got anything going in the second half until midway through the fourth quarter, when Mahomes connected with Kelce on two straight passes totaling 72 yards. The Chiefs’ nine-play, 58-yard scoring drive featured a balanced attack: five runs and four passes. And credit to the defense, man, for kind of holding us in there when we’re struggling.” But the Seahawks ran into a buzzsaw.

Chiefs Are Far From Complacent After Christmas Eve Win (Chiefs Digest)

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, but the team feels like it has even more room to grow as the 2022 season winds down.

Mahomes, with his eyes set on bigger things in the weeks to come, sides with Clark and believes there's more room to improve. We want to win the conference first, secure home-field advantage and then we have fun throughout the playoffs. And then the guys around him also working in with that and making it happen. The Kansas City Chiefs' wins in Weeks 14 and 15 were far from pretty, as a near collapse led to the Denver Broncos making things close and an unfocused afternoon allowed the Houston Texans to push Andy Reid's group into overtime.
