Davis Mills has started at quarterback in 12 of Houston’s 14 games this season, including the initial Titans-Texans matchup. On October 30th, the Titans visited NRG Stadium and defeated the Texans by a final score of 17-10. Cameron Dicker’s 43-yard field goal sent the Titans home with a 17-14 defeat.

Tennessee Titans injury updates: 7 ruled out for Week 16 (Titans Wire)

Ahead of the release of their final injury report, the Tennessee Titans have ruled out seven players for the Week 16 game vs. the Texans.

The potential options are Jack Gibbens, Joe Jones and Andre Smith (practice squad). With Ben Jones (concussion) also ruled out and Dillon Radunz (knee) on IR, the Titans will likely deploy Corey Levin at center and Jordan Roos at right guard. With Nate Davis (ankle) also out, we’d guess it’ll be Corey Levin at center and Jordan Roos at right guard. The good news is the Titans look like they’ll be getting Tre Avery back. Regardless, this defense takes a hit without the LSU product. With what we know about head injuries, we just hope Jones is OK.

While it won’t have a big impact on draft position or the playoff race, it is hard to imagine the morale in that locker room if they host a 1-win Texans team and lose. The Houston Texans are playing with a lot of energy despite only having one win all season and the Titans have been flat for a month now. While fans might think that this experience would have taught the team how to deal with injuries better this time around…well that just hasn’t been the case. However, that doesn’t mean that the Titans are only missing five starters. The injuries and the poor management of those injuries are a big reason why the team is riding a No one in the NFL has felt the attrition of the season more than the Tennessee Titans and the accumulation of injuries goes far beyond this injury report.

Tennessee Titans vs. Houston Texans: Our scouting report, score ... (The Tennessean)

The Tennessee Titans host the Houston Texans on Saturday. Here's The Tennessean's scouting report and final score prediction.

Nick Suss is the Titans beat writer for The Tennessean. The Texans have the NFL's second-worst passing offense by yards per play. The Texans' defense allows 167.5 rushing yards per game, the most in the NFL. These injuries are going to be hard to overcome for a Titans offense that's struggled even at full health in recent weeks. Something has to give for these two teams; the Texans' nine-game losing streak is the NFL's longest and the Titans' four-game losing streak is tied for the third-longest in football. But the Texans defense would be served well to pay attention to Titans running back Derrick Henry, who has rushed for at least 200 yards in his last four games against them.

3 key matchups to watch for Titans' Week 16 game vs. Texans (Titans Wire)

The Tennessee Titans (7-7) are set to host the Houston Texans (1-12-1) in what is a crucial game for head coach Mike Vrabel's team.

Simmons, Autry, and Dupree have only been together for approximately 14 percent of the defensive snaps this season. will have the chance to face a Texans secondary that will be without its top cornerback, Derrick Stingley Jr. Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil has allowed just one sack, two quarterback hits, and 11 pressures on the year. To do so, Tennessee’s young quarterback will have to face a Texans pass defense that comes in at [19th](https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-passing-yards-per-game). In fact, to be perfectly honest, you could make a very strong argument that the Texans have looked like a better football team recently. Houston corner Steven Nelson is also listed as questionable at the moment. This week, Simmons, Autry, and Dupree get their chance to re-unite against a formidable Texans offensive line that rosters one of the best left tackles in the entire league. This is a good opportunity for Willis to show where he’s grown since the last time he took the field as the starter. That reality would be a game-changer for this franchise, as it would be able to focus on adding pieces around the Liberty product in the hopes of maximizing his potential to the fullest. The Arkansas product was also sidelined for both of Willis’ previous two starts earlier in the year, which means this will be the first time these two will play extended snaps together in a meaningful game. [done for the rest of the 2022 season](https://titanswire.usatoday.com/2022/12/21/titans-qb-ryan-tannehill-ankle-injury-likely-to-miss-rest-of-2022-season/) with an ankle injury, rookie quarterback Malik Willis will take over going forward with the chance to prove that he should be the starting quarterback in 2023. Willis’ first test to prove that he’s capable and ready for such a full-time promotion is this weekend against the very same opponent that he made his first career start against back in October.

Six Things to Watch for the Titans in Saturday's Game vs the Texans (Tennessee Titans)

NASHVILLE – The Titans face the Houston Texans on Saturday at Nissan Stadium. Here's a look at six things to watch in the contest: King Henry.

The cold hard truth is the Titans will be playing one of the coldest games in the 24-season history of Nissan Stadium, which opened in 1999, and perhaps the coldest home game in franchise history. In franchise history, the Titans/Oilers have never hosted a game in which the temperature was below 23 degrees. Meanwhile, the Titans are hoping rookie Treylon Burks returns to the lineup on Saturday after missing the past two games with a concussion. Part of the reason the Titans need a big game from Henry is because it would take pressure off rookie quarterback Malik Willis. Henry has more games with 200-plus yards and two rush TDs vs the Texans than any other player has such games vs. Want proof?: Henry has 200-plus rushing yards and two touchdowns in each of his last four games played against the Texans (he missed both games in 2021 with a foot injury).

Tennessee Titans: 3 bold predictions for Week 16 vs. Texans (ClutchPoints)

The Tennessee Titans will face the Houston Texans in Week 16 without Ryan Tannehill, and here are some bold predictions.

[are the favorite to win](https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/nfl) against the Texans. The Texans have the worst rushing defense in the NFL this season, having allowed a total of 2,345 yards. That means that even with Tennessee having a real shot at the postseason, some believe this will be a close game. But a win on Saturday should be the top priority. With that being said, here are three bold predictions for the Titans as they play the Texans in Week 16. In Tennessee’s previous encounter with Houston this season, Henry had one of the best games of his career. All things considered, especially their Week 8 matchup this year, the bold prediction is that Henry will once again go off. [worst record in the NFL](https://clutchpoints.com/nfl-power-rankings-week-16-bills-vikings-clinch-cowboys-lose-ot-stunner) this season. The team has failed to surpass 20 points in all but three games this season. Henry’s 12 rushing touchdowns place him in the top five in the category. The 2022 NFL season is coming down to the wire, so every game could change the course of a team’s future. Houston is just 1-12-1, the

Titans film study: Malik Willis showed progress against Chargers (Titans Wire)

Tennessee Titans QB Malik Willis showed some progress in Week 15. Our Tyler Rowland breaks it down in his weekly film study.

Here is the reality: this team still has a terrible offensive line and cast of pass-catchers. The Chargers’ defense drops back and it leaves Hooper open underneath. If the CB sits in the flat, take the one-on-one to Racey. Henry isn’t open and maybe in the future, Malik just throws it at Henry’s feet, but he tries to make a play with his legs. Chig is in the backfield to the boundary side, with Racey McMath as the line of scrimmage man tight to the formation. This skill will be valuable with the state of the offensive line and lack of separation from the pass catchers. This play starts a little wonky. Not only is this smart, but it fakes out the linebacker and Malik uses it almost as a juke. The corner floats with Hooper on the in route and Conley sits down for a short curl. A Run-Pass Option (RPO) gives the QB the option to hand it off or throw. I love how Malik is thinking here: the defense jumps offsides, so take a shot down the field! Willis had some struggles along with some successes earlier in the season when he was forced into duty.
