Eagles vs. Bears: 5 matchups to watch on offense (Eagles Wire)

For Chicago, they'll look to corral quarterback Jalen Hurts who is a top contender for NFL MVP this season, leading the league in passer rating (108.4), ...

The Bears are led by Armon Watts on the right side and 2020 fifth-round draft selection Trevis Gipson on the left. Hurts has passed for 3,157 yards and rushed for 686 yards. The Bears’ defense has failed to generate a takeaway in four of the last five games and ranks last in the NFL in sacks (16) and third-down efficiency (48.7 percent). The league in passer rating (108.4), touchdown-to-interception ratio (22-3), and rushing TDs by a quarterback (10), Hurts is going to put an extreme amount of pressure on the Chicago defense and he’ll certainly impact the running game as well. Brisker has 73 tackles, five tackles for a loss, three sacks, three quarterback hits, one interception, one pass defended, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 11 games (all starts). For Chicago, they’ll look to corral quarterback Jalen Hurts who is a top contender for NFL MVP this season, leading the league in passer rating (108.4), touchdown-to-interception ratio (22-3), and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (10).

Eagles vs. Bears: The good, the bad, and the ugly (Bleeding Green Nation)

The Eagles, wounded by three turnovers and an out-of-sync Jalen Hurts early on, scratched out a tougher-than-it-should-have-been 25-20 victory over the woeful ...

On a third-and-10 at the Eagles’ 4 in the last two minutes of the third quarter, Smith hauled in a Hurts’ pass for 14 yards to the Eagles’ 18. On a third-and-six at the Eagles’ 22, Hurts was looking for Quez Watkins and overthrew him. Gordon was responsible for two of the Eagles’ three turnovers. He saw his first option covered, probably saw his second and third covered, and created more time with his legs to find Smith down field for a 21-yard gain on a third-and-three at the Eagles’ 39. The Eagles gained a scant 28 yards of total offense to the Bears’ 74. On the Bears’ second drive, defensive end Josh Sweat’s 14-yard sack back at the Chicago 25 on a third-and-10 at the Chicago 39. Edwards caused a fumble and made a crucial play, taking down Bears’ tight end Cole Kmet at the Chicago 40 after a 7-yard gain on the Bears’ 33 with 2:54 left in the third quarter. If Fields’ left big toe didn’t step out of bounds at the nine it would have been six—which it eventually was on the next play when David Montgomery went almost untouched for a 9-yard score (that’s next). Hurts regaining his passing touch on the perfectly placed, arcing 29-yard completion to Brown on the Bears’ 2 with 12:59 left in the third quarter. It marked the second time a Hurts-to-Brown reception led to a Hurts’ 1-yard score. There was late-arriving good, a touch of bad and some glaring ugly, especially when Bears’ quarterback Justin Fields took a 39-yard walk through the Eagles’ defense in the second quarter. It looked ugly for a while, though the 2022 Eagles have shown a penchant for paying little attention to reflections.

Eagles vs. Bears: 13 winners, 6 losers, 2 IDKs (Bleeding Green Nation)

At that point, they'll be two postseason wins at Lincoln Financial Field away from making it back to The Big Game. JALEN HURTS. This was hardly Hurts' best game ...

Why did the Eagles feel the need to force-feed him? In order, the Eagles motioned: But the coaches played a factor in him running the ball that often. Probably not going to be able to survive those kind of mistakes in the playoffs. There’s more blame to be placed on the quarterback than the coaching staff there. And the Jags seems to be surging while the It would be pretty impressive by Doug to take over a Jags squad that finished as THE worst team in the league in each of the past two years and instantly turn them into a division winner. Now the Eagles can lose to the Cowboys and win just one of their final two games, both of which are at The Linc. Had the Cowboys won, Dallas would’ve been able to beat the Eagles on Christmas Eve and forced Philly to win both of their last two home games in order to get the No. It’s probably going to be cold at The Linc in the playoffs. He was to blame for some of those since it’s not like the Eagles drew up designed runs for him on all 17 of his carries. It looked to me like he was the one to initially jar the football loose on the Bears fumble that the Eagles recovered.
