This time, the Week 7 score is reversed in favor of the Browns. But this is Deshaun Watson’s first home game as the Browns QB1, and though the players would be wise not to follow all of the media coverage, they know that fans are disappointed that the Browns will not be in the playoffs again this year. He led the team in tackles for loss and sacks the past two seasons, but the solo tackles really popped as a senior. Not only is he able to collapse the pocket but he holds his ground well. The Tigers will also stunt him inside to create that matchup. There are a number of ways to do that, but one of them could be to acquire a player that can operate effectively from a standup position or with their hand on the ground. That also creates an easy way to utilize stunts, something else that has been used with more frequency in the past few weeks.

Then, Ward stepped in front of a short pass from Huntley and snagged his second interception of the season. He looked even sharper on his throws than the last two games and used his legs to make plays, including a 17-yard run in the fourth quarter. In his home debut in a chilly — and, at times, snowy — environment at FirstEnergy Stadium, Watson commanded the offense well. Ravens K Justin Tucker missed two field goals for the first time since 2018 in the game. After slow starts from both offenses, the Browns found the spark they needed in the third quarter behind an interception by Denzel Ward, who intercepted QB Tyler Huntley when the Ravens were driving into the red zone.

The Browns were hurt by ill-timed defensive penalties in their loss on Sunday in Cincinnati. However, after reaching the Browns 33, Huntley fumbled the snap on third down, leaving Baltimore to have to turn to Justin Tucker's big leg. After a first-possession three-and-out, Watson found a nice passing rhythm on the Browns' second possession. Just shy of midfield, the drive ended with back-to-back incompletions by Huntley, leading to a punt to the 11 yard line. They got a couple of first downs, but stalled after getting into field goal range, including their second fumble of the night that they recovered on third down. On 1st-and-goal, Watson hesitated a bit to his first read, then tried to fit it inside late to Njoku, but it was incomplete. K Cade York connected on it to give the Browns a 3-0 lead in the second quarter. QB Deshaun Watson managed one short completion to RB Demetric Felton, but then RB Nick Chubb was stuffed on second down and then Watson had no where to throw the ball on third down.
