'I'm glad he's on our team': How Russell Wilson showed 'rare' trait vs ... (DenverBroncos.com)

Plus, Offensive Coordinator Justin Outten explains how Jerry Jeudy benefited from changing positions on offense.

I'm very excited to see them go there and for the students to be able to go and support them." It was exciting to see him get back in it and just seeing the field and just understanding the rush patterns and just taking off on a few of those. "In that spot, it's usually your work horse — a guy that can blow it off the top but also can do intermediate routes and choice routes and put them inside. Outten said Denver must decide whether to put the two receivers on the same side of the formation or play them opposite each other. "I think it's awesome," Hackett said of the donation. He's a special player, and in those crucial situations, you love to have a guy like that [who] can get you back in those games." That was a tight window, that was a great concentration with Dulcich, and that was great timing. "Jerry is a unique player, because he can play all three positions," Outten said. I got flashbacks [to] when we used to play him back in the days of just him running down the field and going, 'Oh, no. Then, on third down, Wilson scrambled to his right, avoided a tackle, took off and dove forward for a first down. He threw three touchdown passes for the first time this season, and he averaged 14.3 yards per carry as he ran for 57 yards. On the ensuing play, the Broncos were flagged for holding again.

The question that remains is how ownership responds in the future. While Paton is supposed to have the final say on personnel, this situation is a reminder that NFL owners may sometimes want particular moves to happen. Snead could simply point to the Goff situation, and Kroenke would likely acknowledge that waiting might be the better approach. Allbright's insight into what happened behind the scenes gives a clearer picture of how the Wilson extension came to be. As the man in control of personnel, it's common wisdom to attribute such decisions to Paton. has too much class to come out and throw ownership under the bus but internally everyone knows what happened.

Denver Broncos Start Em, Sit Em: Week 14 vs. Arizona Cardinals (Mile High Report)

The red birds are allowing 20 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks which puts them at 26th in the league. But we don't know if Wilson be cleared in ...

The Denver defense posted 13 points against the Ravens in week 13 and held their own with four points last week against the Chiefs. The injuries and constant weight on their shoulders via the offense has caused Denver’s defense to fade a bit since their bye week. While the Broncos may want to lean on the run if Wilson can’t go, the Cardinals will surely sell out to stop the run and force Rypien to beat them over the top. Arizona also presents a dream matchup for Dulcich as they surrender the most points against tight ends at 15 per game. It’s unclear if he will suit up this week, but hamstrings can linger, and you don’t want to get stuck in a playoff matchup with somebody who reinjures himself or plays on a snap count. Murray has been a solid contributor for the offense this season but lacks explosiveness, evidenced by his 3.8 yards per carry which falls to 3.3 outside of his longest run of 52 yards. With Mike Boone joining Chase Edmonds and making his second stint of the season on IR, we are back to a two-man backfield. If Russ goes, Jeudy is a viable option but he’s a huge risk if Russ sits this one out. Opposing running backs have tallied 21.8 points per game against the Arizona defense, ranking them 23rd in the league. He flashed some explosiveness, taking a screen pass 66 yards for a touchdown and finishing with 15.7 fantasy points on the day. Only the deepest of 2QB leagues should consider him. But we don’t know if Wilson be cleared in time to play, for one.

Broncos enter tilt vs. Cardinals searching for offensive consistency (Arizona Sports)

The Denver Broncos offense has not met expectations despite adding QB Russell Wilson to the mix this season.

He is no longer a Bronco after playing 10 games in Denver — tallying five fumbles in the process — before his release and eventual signing with the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. It’s an NFL offense that has good players and a good scheme. That’s every Sunday, but it’s a good offense that had their best output on Sunday, so they’re confident.” And while Denver’s run game is slightly better than its passing attack, it hasn’t seen a 100-yard rusher all season, with Latavius Murray pacing the team with 380 yards and three touchdowns on 101 carries in eight games played after Javonte Williams was placed on the injured reserve in October with an ankle injury. You better believe that nugget is circled somewhere within in the walls of the Cardinals training facility. Wilson’s status is very much up in air as he works to clear concussion protocols, though, he did practice in a limited capacity on Thursday.

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs Film Review: Week 14 (Mile High Report)

Breaking down some of the best performances from the Broncos 28-34 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

He looked stout; stonewalling Chris Jones in pass protection, generating push in the run game, and assisting the offense to a second consecutive TD drive. Netane was visibly the better player and for some reason was limited to only 4 offensive drives due to the coaching staff’s inability to properly prepare for gamedays. Denver needed a starting GUARD this week, and instead of playing the guy who fit they chose to play two guys out of position and unsurprisingly they performed poorly. Jerry Jeudy is a great talent and I’m glad he got the opportunity to showcase his ability as an outside threat especially after early in the game he lost his temper coming off the field with a missed defensive holding call. Now that young backup guard who showed a lot of promising things on tape is suiting up for a division rival. Muti was reportedly challenging Dalton for the starting LG spot in training camp before enduring another significant injury that kept him sidelined until he was activated a couple of weeks ago. Arguably the most impactful defender on Denver’s defense in 2022, Dre’Mont played with a massive chip on his shoulder Sunday afternoon against Kansas City. Kansas City stormed out to a devastating 27-0 lead on the back of no-look underhand tosses from Mahomes, absurd play-extending, and a backbreaking pick-6 by Russell Wilson with four minutes still remaining in the first half. Jerry Jeudy had his best career game, and we started to see Russell Wilson use his legs effectively on scrambles and look like the QB we all expected. Jerry Jeudy deserves the respect of Broncos Country for the impressive step forward we’ve seen this season. It is baffling that Wattenberg saw snaps before this man. Nine targets, eight receptions, 73 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

Broncos vs. Cardinals: Week 15 Bold Predictions & Picks (Sports Illustrated)

This is a very winnable game, and if Russ were available, the Broncos should win handily. [@LukePattersonLP](https://twitter.com/LukePattersonLP)) 6-7: Because Adam Schefter said he believes Wilson will not play on Sunday, I’m assuming the Broncos pick up a close victory against the Cardinals. Because of Evero's unit, I'm inclined to pick the Broncos here, even with Rypien at the helm in all likelihood, because Denver is 9-1-1 all-time against the Cardinals and a perfect 5-0 at home. [@BobMorrisSports](https://twitter.com/BobMorrisSports)) 5-8: The Cardinals, like the Broncos, have played nowhere close to expectations. [@KelbermanNFL](https://twitter.com/KelbermanNFL)) 8-5: Forget (potentially) McCoy vs. The Broncos have the more inexperienced backup in Rypien but a significantly better defense. [@BrennanGrose1](https://twitter.com/BrennanGrose01)) 6-7: With Murray out, and Wilson still up in the air, this is going to be an extremely interesting matchup due to all the unknowns. The Broncos and Cardinals offenses have significantly underperformed this season. On Sunday, the Denver defense controls proceedings, and Jeudy comes up with the winning score to give the Broncos only their fourth win. Look for Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero’s unit to tip the scale by creating turnovers. However, Rypien looks good enough in his spot start, as the Broncos fall just short. [Denver Broncos](https://www.si.com/nfl/team/denver-broncos) came up short in the team's most exciting performance of the season last week.

While drafting a quarterback could be better for the Broncos in the long run with what they have seen from Wilson, it's unlikely to happen. If Denver were to take a quarterback in the 2023 draft, Richardson would be one of the better options. With that as an option, Denver could target a quarterback in the 2023 class. The Cardinals have lost three in a row. If the Cardinals lose in Week 15, there is a world in which they pick at No. [According to ESPN's FPI](https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2023/story/_/id/34726073/2023-projected-nfl-draft-order-31-first-round-picks-no-1-favorites-teams-top-10), the Cardinals have an overwhelming 92.2% chance of earning a top-10 pick and a 53% chance to earn a top-five pick. The Cardinals defense had a chance to get back on track against the New England Patriots in Week 14. It'll be key for Arizona to have McCoy throw at a comfortable rate and letting James Conner — who's ran for 205 yards in the last two games — become an even bigger factor. He was hired as a defensive coordinator by the Cardinals in 2019 and will get to face his former team for the first time on Sunday. McCoy has started two games this season and is poised to play in the team's final four games. But in 2022, the Cardinals have given up a league-high 26.8 points per game. While they are officially eliminated, if the season ended today, the Cardinals would have the No. The team is a bottom-10 passing defense, which lets up 243.8 yards per game to opponents. Similar to Arizona, Denver is in a lost year. On Friday, Denver declared Wilson (concussion) out for Week 15 as Brett Rypien will get the start.
