Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez are both in court after the "Savage" rapper accused Lanez of shooting her in the foot in July 2020.
After getting back in the car, Megan said Lanez promised her and Harris $1 million to keep quiet about the assault. to testify she saw Lanez fire the handgun that injured her foot in the summer of 2020. One of those fans, Michelle Walker, shouted a message of support to Megan as the rapper exited the courtroom at noon for a lunch break. The rapper added Lanez then told her she needed to "stop lying" to friend Kelsey Harris, who was also in the car, about their past sexual relationship. She said on the recording she had been drinking heavily, as others in the car had, and had been getting out of the car when she heard several shots. The pair went on to trade barbs over their respective music careers, Megan said, prompting her to ask to be let out of the vehicle. The interview with prosecutors from September was played after Harris said on the stand Wednesday that she did not see Lanez firing the gun that left her former friend and boss wounded. Harris was cordial in the recorded interview, in contrast to her evasive, at times combative time on the stand, and the prosecutors rarely had to prompt her. After conferring with her lawyer, Harris returned to the stand to invoke her Fifth Amendment right. While on the stand, she denied that she herself had fired the gun, but wouldn't say Lanez did. “They dragged her across the street, then got in the car and sped off.” Mgdesyan told the judge earlier in the day that Lanez would not testify.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion testifies in Los Angeles about a 2020 incident in which she accuses Tory Lanez of shooting her.
On the stand Tuesday, Pete constantly raised the idea that reporting Peterson had damaged her career. Prosecutors plan to call Harris to corroborate a text message she sent identifying Peterson as the shooter. Peterson’s defense attorney, George Mgdesyan, has said the case is about “jealousy” and suggested the fight in the car was between a highly intoxicated Pete and Harris. Harris supposedly met up with Peterson in the days after the shooting, which Pete took as a “betrayal.” The two have not spoken since 2020, Pete said. and entered the Hall of Justice. Mgdesyan also sought to undercut Pete’s description of the exact moment she was shot. Mgdesyan spent more than two hours cross-examining Pete on Tuesday, hunting for inconsistencies between statements she made to police and prosecutors and in an interview with Gayle King earlier this year. It remains unclear if Peterson will testify in the trial, which is expected to last about eight days. “When people talk about Megan Thee Stallion getting shot, all the headlines are Megan Thee Stallion is on trial and I’m not on trial!” Peterson called both women “bitches and hos,” Pete testified Tuesday, then the two began bickering over their musical careers. Pete said Tuesday that Peterson immediately promised each woman $1 million if they did not tell police about the incident. More recently, Drake hinted he didn’t believe Pete’s accusations against Peterson in the track “Circo Loco.”
Megan Thee Stallion took the stand on Tuesday and accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in her feet and then offering her $1 million to stay quiet.
“I want him to go to jail,” she added. “I want him to go under the jail.” On Monday, Mgdesyan said the alcohol-fueled fight started when Megan purportedly became “jealous” that Peterson was spending time with Jenner in the pool and didn’t want to leave her house. “We’ll never know” what such testing would have shown “because the detective on this case refused to do it,” he said “I literally turned like this, and I could see him with the gun.” Beyond that, “In the Black community, in my community, it’s not really acceptable to be cooperating with police officers.” She said when he finally agreed to leave so she and Harris could hitch a ride with his driver, he “had an attitude.” The ensuing ordeal led to a barrage of threats and harassment online, she said, and left her feeling like a “sick bird” that other members of her industry sought to avoid. “He was holding the gun, pointing it at me.” She said Peterson was referring to their sexual history together, which Harris didn’t know about at the time. Over more than three hours of harrowing testimony, Megan described her “terrified” reaction to the shooting in the predawn hours of July 12, 2020, and the fear and confusion that followed. “I don’t understand why that matters,” she said, shutting down defense suggestions that it was her former best-friend Kelsey Harris who shot her in a jealous rage.
I can't believe I have to come here and do this,” Megan said on the witness stand, holding back tears.
Defense attorneys for Lanez have so far focused on the lie she told at the scene and questioned the credibility of her testimony and other statements. Megan said she was only wearing a bikini and had gunshot wounds in both her feet when police arrived and told her to walk to them for questioning with her hands up. In her testimony on Tuesday, Megan said she turned her head when walking away from the car to see Lanez’s arm over the open window when he shot at her. After she got out, Lanez shot her three times, prosecutors said as his trial began on Monday. Later in her testimony, she broke down as she talked about the impact the incident had on her. The 27-year-old Grammy winner, whose full name is Megan Pete, offered emotional testimony on Tuesday after prosecutors called her to the witness stand.
The rapper told jurors Tuesday that everyone in the car “was shocked” when Tory Lanez shot her.
She admitted that she had lied to the media and investigators for years when she denied having an “intimate” relationship with Lanez. Lanez was seen leaving the courthouse shortly after Megan’s testimony carrying his son, Kai’Lon on his shoulders. I don’t feel safe with the police.” I don’t feel safe in the car. How can I share my body with somebody who could shoot me?” “It’s disgusting at this point. Despite claiming he didn’t fire a shot, Lanez was charged with three felonies that have had him on house arrest since October. She told jurors that a nasty argument with Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, broke out in an SUV, shortly after the duo had left a party hosted by Kylie Jenner in the Hollywood Hills. In the SUV, an argument erupted. Kelsey looked shocked.” He looked shocked. I don’t want to give them the power they’ve been taking from me going on three years.”

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion testified Tuesday that fellow hip-hop artist Tory Lanez shot her in the foot in the summer of 2020 following a Hollywood party.
As they drove away from the party, an argument escalated, she said, and she stepped out of the vehicle. Megan Thee Stallion said she told police she had injured her feet on glass when they asked why she was bleeding, according to the news agency. “I didn’t want them to kill any of us or shoot any of us. “I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important to me to clarify the details about that traumatic night.” “For some reason, I was just trying to protect all of us, because I didn’t want them to kill us. Clearly, I think that the people have added that because they’re afraid they may lose count one." “It’s not that I was protecting anybody. She also testified she didn't know Lanez had a gun that night, the news service reported. I believe once everybody’s heard parts and pieces of the case, once the whole case comes about, I think we’re confident the jury will find my client not guilty and he’ll be exonerated of all the charges," Mgdesyan said. So clearly, I think that the people see the weakness in their case, and they’re concerned that the first count, which is the assault, is an intentional act and count three is a negligent discharge, which is an accidental negligent discharge," he said. She testified that Lanez, 30, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, made the offer because he was on probation, according to CNS. ["assaulting a female friend."
Megan Thee Stallion finally got her day in court when she told a Los Angeles jury that Tory Lanez had shot her in the feet more than two years ago after a ...
Harris then claimed that she was “not truthful” during that interview with prosecutors to “protect” herself. After Ta asked Harris about her prior statement to prosecutors that Lanez was “aiming the gun straight but always in a downward direction toward Megan,” she claimed not to have witnessed the shooting. The prosecutor asked Harris whether she had previously told authorities that Lanez “threatened to shoot you.” Harris asked the judge if she had to respond, and when he said yes, she answered in the affirmative. After the shooting, they all drove away in the SUV, and Meg tried to slow the bleeding with towels that were in the back seat. Lanez called both Meg and Harris “bitches and hoes,” and the discussion turned into an argument about their careers in music, per the newspaper. In the criminal trial, which began December 5, Lanez is charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and possession of a loaded and unregistered firearm in his vehicle.
Megan Thee Stallion took the witness stand for the first time against her alleged shooter, Tory Lanez, in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday.
Additonally, Mgdesyan says Kris Jenner’s boyfriend, Corey Gamble, was a witness to some of the party and would be called to testify. In the weeks following the alleged assault, Pete posted a video to Instagram in which she publicly accused Peterson of shooting her. The attorney has also repeatedly highlighted that his client’s DNA was not found on the weapon used in the attack — which many speculate will be used to place the blame on Harris. Mgdesyan told the jury that this was all sparked by Pete’s “jealousy” over Peterson and suggested the argument in the car was between a highly intoxicated Pete and Harris. She testified that she asked to be let out of the car twice. “I don’t have to turn all the way around. According to Pete, Peterson turned around and told her she needed “to stop lying” to Harris about their relationship. “I didn’t want her to know that I had dealt with him in any kind of way. Notably, Peterson does not specifically admit to firing a gun. According to authorities, Peterson, his bodyguard and Kelsey Harris, a former friend of Pete’s, and Pete herself were all in an SUV at the time of the assault. I already got caught with a gun before,’” she said. Pete said the confrontation became even more hostile once she and Peterson began insulting one another’s musical careers.
The Grammy winner tells a court the Canadian rapper offered her $1m to keep quiet about the alleged attack.
Tory shot meg." "I wish he would've just shot and killed me if I knew I was going to have to go through this torture," she told the court. Rapper takes stand in case against Canadian-born musician, emotionally recounting night when she was shot.
During Tuesday’s testimony, Pete described the rap game as a “boy’s club” and said she knew she would be hated because she was “telling on one y’all’s friend”. During cross-examination, Mgdesyan focused much of his questioning on where Pete and Peterson were physically located before the shooting. At some point during the car ride, Peterson turned around in the vehicle and told Pete to stop lying to Harris about their relationship. Pete added that Peterson had offered the two former friends $1m to keep quiet. Video of the rapper crying heavily in the back of an ambulance caused Pete to wipe her nose as she relived it. “I don’t wanna be on this Earth,” Pete said at one point during a daylong testimony.
