Detroit took a 21-7 lead in the third quarter on Goff's third touchdown pass of the game, a 5-yard strike to wide receiver Josh Reynolds. Instead, Minnesota turned it over and then went three and out on their first possession of the second half. The drive was set up by a 35-yard Kalif Raymond punt return to the Vikings' 48-yard line. Detroit's defense came up with a huge turnover to preserve their lead. Detroit's defense held the Vikings to just 22 rushing yards in the contest. Lions vs. Vikings score: Jared Goff torches Minnesota to claim fifth ... (CBSSports.com)

Surrendering three touchdown passes to a red-hot Jared Goff, Kevin O'Connell's squad fell 34-23, giving Detroit its fifth win in six games, not to mention added ...

The Alabama product is absolutely wide open, uncovered, in the Vikings' secondary as the Lions strike first. He's inflated some of his numbers playing catch-up, but he's also looked really comfortable for long stretches of the year. And then Jared Goff unloads a beautiful bomb to D.J. After a lengthy break as Dan Campbell argued with officials over a potential penalty on Minnesota, the Vikings keep the ball for first-and-goal, pitch it to Dalvin Cook, who patiently waits in the backfield before getting swallowed and then coughing up the rock. Michael Badgley can't connect on the 47-yard field goal try, so the Lions fail to capitalize on their takeaway. Detroit now comfortably ahead by two scores after Goff hits Josh Reynolds on a slant for the TD, immediately after zipping one to Amon-Ra St. The trouble is, the rushing game is still nonexistent, and Detroit's front four is getting quite a bit of push. Kevin O'Connell dials up a two-point try immediately afterward, and they go right back to Thielen, who this time gets buried short of the end zone. Hockenson who was split out wide, and snagging the easy TD grab to pull the Vikings within one score. 31 in the NFL in total defense, are threatening to overtake Detroit for No. Dan Campbell's Lions, who went 7 of 15 on third downs, also got key special teams plays to seal the win, including a 41-yard run on a fake punt and a last-minute field goal from Michael Badgley. The Lions didn't establish much of a ground game on Sunday, but they never needed to, moving the chains and reaching the end zone with great efficiency.

Lions vs. Vikings quick thoughts: What Just Happened? (prideofdetroit.com)

A collection of thoughts on the Detroit Lions' Week 14 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

In the biggest moment of the game, when the Lions needed a first down, he drew up a play to his right tackle and Penei Sewell caught it. Moore had a huge moment in the third quarter on Sunday when the Lions decided to fake a punt and hand the ball off to Moore. At the end they jump off a bridge and land on a truck and the truck explodes into snow. He finished the day with five catches for 51 yards and even found the end zone in the third quarter. In only his third career game, he grabbed his fourth sack of the season at the end of the first half. The stadium exploded in cheers and then Williams proceeded to give the ball to his dad and then run the length of the field celebrating with fans. The Lions need to bring this same energy to their next draft. On that play Hutchinson got into the back field again and was able to stifle Kirk Cousins enough to throw the ball away. He might just be playing the best football of his career. He is playing the best football of his time in Detroit. Lions fans have been clamoring for Williams all season and on the first catch of his NFL career, he made it all worth it with a 41-yard touchdown. The Lions continue to keep this magic going and it continues to be so much fun to watch.

That catch he had over the middle of the field, and then he bounces back up a few plays later. I mean, it’s a complete package and boy are we happy to have him.” And St. We’re trying the best we can to keep defenses guessing a little bit of where he’s going to lineup, but he does a lot of things himself. Yeah, it’s stuff I would expect that they would do with him and use him for, and he’s gone over there and done a nice job.” Hockenson, the 2019 first-round pick for the Lions, has caught 30 passes for 40 targets for 225 yards and one touchdown in five games for the Vikings. Knowing where he’s going to be, what his -- the top of his break’s going to look like so our quarterback can anticipate that throw, that goes a long way.” Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. But the yards have dropped off recently, with Hockenson failing to top 50 yards for four straight. DETROIT -- There are playoff dreams and division-clinching implications on the line in the Week 14 game between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. But it sounds like he could see action from that spot if the Lions are actually forced to punt against the Vikings. Hockenson, who was traded at the deadline, and the second game for first-round Lions rookie wide receiver Jameson Williams.

Predictions: Lions vs. Vikings (Sports Illustrated)

If the Lions are going to get revenge on the Vikings for an early-season loss, they must contain Justin Jefferson. Jeff Okudah did a superb job in Week 3, ...

Detroit's passing attack should be able to execute against a Vikings defense that is giving up a significant amount of yards in the air. If all goes according to plan and the defense steps up, Detroit, which actually opened this week as the favorite, wins this game. Just like these two teams' meeting in Week 3, I believe Sunday's game goes down to the wire, and former Lions tight end T.J. I've got my eyes on Jameson Williams, to see if he makes a larger impact this weekend than he did in his NFL debut last week. Ben Johnson's offense has been on a roll and will keep up early, but Minnesota's offensive firepower will be too much in the end. Detroit will have to maintain that same energy in Sunday's game.
