Ankalaev isolated Blachowicz's leg with a grapevine and softened Ankalaev up with punches. Ankalaev landed a nice overhand right but Blachowicz responded with a hard body kick and more leg strikes. Ankalaev closed the round with a few hard punches. The impact landed by Ankalaev was more severe in the fifth round than it was in the fourth.
