Players are looking forward to seeing some new maps and the rebalancing of heroes like Sojourn and Bastion, and of course, the real star of the show this time ...
I’m just happy that my unjustly-doled-out ban that I earned from disconnecting to the servers too many times has finally lifted. I’m excited to see the return of some old favorites of mine (Blizzard World is a particular point of interest for me as a theme park enthusiast), and even a time-of-day reskin can make the whole map feel entirely fresh. Players have been itching for some new maps, and Blizzard is definitely delivering on that front. It’s a smaller tweak, but it affects the majority of the hero roster, so it’s worth noting for sure. There’s a whole lot of new info in this huge Like any live service game, Overwatch needs constant maintenance — not only to add new content, but to just fix all the stuff they have in there already.
Doomfist and Junker Queen got some significant changes, while Bastion, Symmetra, Tracer, Ana, Kiriko and Mercy got some tweaks. I don't know that Bastion's ...
Developer comments: We balanced Tracer’s damage in a previous patch due to an undiscovered bug regarding her Pulse Pistols’ falloff damage. We're reducing both the movement speed and cooldown rate boost it grants so that it's easier to aim during its effect for both allies and enemies, as well as there being fewer abilities being thrown about. To help account for this loss of power, we're increasing the damage of her primary fire and how quickly her energy charges during her Ultimate. However, it will also drain to less lethal levels at an increased rate when not damaging a target. Developer comments: The intent for Bastion's Ultimate is that enemy players can survive it if they are quick to react to the damaging impact areas, however, it ended up being too easy to avoid the damage areas entirely. Developer comments: We've decided to remove increased movement speed from the Damage role passive and, in turn, make the reload speed more significant. We're looking to shift more of that survivability into Junker Queen herself by increasing the amount her passive ability heals through dealing damage with wounds. Due to gaining Empowered Rocket Punch more consistently, the stun duration and size are slightly decreased to reduce some of the frustration in playing against it. Developer comments: There are several changes here for Doomfist with the intent to increase his presence as a disruptive brawler-style tank. We fixed a bug regarding overtime on Control maps, however, that fix led to other bugs we had to resolve. Be sure to note the change to the DPS passive as well — that’s a significant tweak. However, the changes should make her more balanced and help players with so-so aim get more out of her.

On top of these additions, Season 2 also brings a variety of hero changes, bug fixes, and more to the game to improve its gameplay balance and stability. There are smaller tweaks for Bastion, Symmetra, Mercy, Ana, Kiriko, and Junker Queen as well, with the majority of them aiming to make playing both as and against these heroes a smoother and more consistent experience. Overwatch 2's Season 2 update is now live and available to all players across all platforms. The damage hero role passive has also been adjusted, as its movement speed boost removed but the reload speed buff increased to 35%. Notably, the update also includes several significant balance changes.
Blizzard rolled out a big balance update for Overwatch 2 season 2, bringing buffs to Doomfist, Junker Queen, and Bastion, with nerfs for Kiriko and Sojourn.
- Cooldown reduced from 12 to 10 seconds - Cooldown reduced from 15 to 14 seconds - Cooldown reduced from 4 to 3 seconds Bastion’s ultimate is getting deadlier, while Kiriko’s is getting less powerful. There’s also a role-wide change for Damage heroes. Some oft-requested nerfs and buffs are included in Tuesday’s patch, bringing much-needed boosts to Doomfist and Junker Queen, with decreases in overall power to heroes like Sojourn and Kiriko.
Blizzard officially releases the big Season 2 update for Overwatch 2, which comes with a significant nerf for Sojourn.
As of the Season 2 update, Overwatch 2 players will find Blizzard World (Overcast) in playlists, as well as the Night version of the [brand-new Shambali Monastery map](https://gamerant.com/overwatch-2-shambali-monastery-preview/). [addition of Ramattra](https://gamerant.com/overwatch-2-video-ramattra-interactions/) may be of most interest to Overwatch 2 players checking out Season 2, they may also want to keep in mind the updated map pools. Doomfist's health has been upped from 150 to 200, and the temporary health he gets for hitting his target with abilities has been increased from 30 to 40. Doomfist's damage range for his attacks have been increased, while the cooldown for his Power Block has been reduced from eight to seven seconds, and will last 2.5 seconds instead of 2. However, Sojourn is getting her primary fire damage increased from 9 to 10 per projectile, and her Overlock energy charge rate is being increased to 20% while her Ultimate is active, so it's not all bad news for Sojourn mains. The changes made to Sojourn primarily focus on her Railgun, so now secondary fire falloff happens quicker and the critical damage multiplier has been reduced from 2 to 1.5 These changes means that Sojourn can no longer kill a full health 200 HP hero with a single fully charged Railgun shot, which is a significant nerf, to say the least.
