[Khalil Herbert](http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4035886/khalil-herbert), whose had what appeared to be a third-quarter fumble overturned on review to help Chicago to stay close, finished with 99 yards and a TD. [Malik Davis](http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4240603/malik-davis) appeared to have an 11-yard touchdown catch in the undrafted rookie running back's NFL debut for the Cowboys. [Dak Prescott](https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/2577417/dak-prescott) threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, [Micah Parsons](https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4361423/micah-parsons) returned a fumble for his first NFL score and the [Dallas Cowboys](/nfl/team/_/name/dal/dallas-cowboys) beat the [Chicago Bears](/nfl/team/_/name/chi/chicago-bears) 49-29 on Sunday. Clark was making his NFL debut seven months after spinal fusion surgery. Pollard tied his career highs in yards and carries (14). [David Montgomery](http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4035538/david-montgomery) fumbled in the open field after a catch in the third quarter, and Parsons fell on the loose ball. The Bears are 1-0 against the AFC East this season, and they will look to add to that with a win at Soldier Field. Parsons picked up the ball and was on the ground, while Justin Fields, instead of touching him down, jumped over him. That play was the story of Chicago’s undisciplined play on Sunday. The game got as close as 28-23 before the Cowboys took over. Lack of Defensive Efficiency: The Bears defense was less than efficient in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys. This was the second time this season that the Bears lost by more than one possession.
The Bears return to action this week with a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. Here's everything Bears fans need to know ahead of the game.
The Bears will need to lean on both backs if they are going to have success in Dallas. The Cowboys took the opening kickoff and drove 75 yards on 11 plays to score the game’s opening touchdown. The Bears called more designed runs for Fields and moved him outside the pocket more frequently in the win over New England. Brown with a deep ball on the first play from scrimmage. Fields ran in the score one play after making a nifty sidearm throw to Darnell Mooney on first-and-goal. The Cowboys had 224 total yards on their first three possessions. On the very next play, Fields connected with receiver N’Keal Harry for a 17-yard touchdown pass. The Bears ran a couple plays and took a shot at the end zone, but ran out of time. With time winding down in the first half, Justin Fields threw an interception, but the play was called back for a roughing the passer penalty. On Dallas’ first play following the Bears’ touchdown, quarterback Dak Prescott threw a pass that was intercepted by Bears safety Eddie Jackson. Tony Pollard scored his second touchdown of the game, this time on a 7-yard run.
The Bears offense held its own Sunday in Dallas, but the defense struggled throughout a 49-29 loss to the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
The 13-play, 75-yard drive was fueled by a 15-yard run from Jones on a sweep, a 17-yard completion to Mooney and a 12-yard run by Fields. On the first play of the Cowboys' ensuing drive, Jackson came up with a timely takeaway to give the Bears another scoring opportunity just before halftime. The drive nearly ended on the first play as Herbert appeared to fumble with Dallas recovering the ball, but the call was overturned after the replay showed that Herbert fumbled the ball initially, but re-established possession before his knee was down. [N'Keal Harry](/team/players-roster/n-keal-harry/) for a 17-yard touchdown to get the Bears within 28-14. Following halftime, the Bears defense forced Dallas' first punt of the game with a three-and-out, leading to a 12-yard touchdown run by Herbert, which closed the gap to 28-23 with 9:42 left in the third quarter. On second-and-6 from the 11, running back Malik Davis caught a short pass and appeared to reach the end zone, but the call was overturned as he stepped out of bounds at the 1-yard line. Dallas extended their lead to 21-7 as Pollard ran up the middle for an 18-yard touchdown run with 10:50 remaining in the half. On second-and-3, Fields executed a designed run play, running off left tackle and finding the end zone with just over a minute into the second quarter. Prescott's 21-yard touchdown pass to receiver CeeDee Lamb put Dallas up 14-0 with 5:19 left in the first quarter. Running back Tony Pollard fueled the drive with 26 rushing yards and a 16-yard catch. But a 7-yard score by running back Tony Pollard followed by linebacker Micah Parsons' touchdown on a fumble recovery put the game out of reach. However, Pollard led the game with 131 yards on 14 carries and three touchdown runs.
