The Wolfpack (6-2, 2-2 ACC) erased an 18-point third-quarter deficit and extended their home winning streak to 15 games, becoming bowl eligible in the process.

Credit has to be given to coach Dave Doeren and company for the adjustments that were made during this game. Chris Dunn remained perfect on the year (14 for 14) with a 35-yard field goal at the end of the second quarter to give NC State a 3-0 halftime lead. The Wolfpack gave up 21 points in the third quarter but held the Hokies scoreless for the game’s other three quarters. His first score, a 35-yard connection with Thayer Thomas, was the offense's first touchdown since losing quarterback Devin Leary in the third quarter against Florida State. After throwing six passes in the first half while splitting time with Jack Chambers, the freshman had 265 yards and three consecutive second-half touchdown passes while completing 12 of his final 14 throws. As agonizing as it was to watch the offense in the first half – three points and 130 total yards – it’s hard not to be excited by Morris’ performance in the second half.
