The Eagles' pass rush gets even scarier with Robert Quinn (SB Nation)

With the NFL's trade deadline fast approaching, teams are making moves to position themselves for a run to the playoffs, or begin the process of rebuilding.

Remember, he is coming off an 18-sack season a year ago, and he still has some juice off the edge. Or, maybe Quinn himself gets some more one-on-one opportunities, as opposing offensive coordinators slide protection schemes towards Sweat or Reddick and away from Quinn, or they use the backs and tight ends to chip those two. Because now we can picture Quinn in the middle of this Eagles defensive front. In Philadelphia, Quinn gets to join an already imposing defensive front, and will create some headaches for opposing offensive coordinators. On this DL he will have a chance to be a high impact rusher. Then there is this play against the Green Bay Packers, which serves as the perfect jumping-off point for examining what Quinn will bring to Philadelphia. National reaction: What they're saying after Eagles acquired Robert ... (Eagles Wire)

Here's the national media reaction to the Philadelphia Eagles acquiring pass rusher Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears for a fourth-round pick.

So if Quinn is a just rental player, the Eagles gave up a fourth-round pick for a piece that might help them reach the Super Bowl. In exchange, the Eagles are sending the Bears a fourth-round pick. The Giants, though, are in a different place than Philadelphia. The Bears traded him to Philadelphia… The Dallas Cowboys are nipping at their heels in division at 5-2. The Brown and Jordan Davis on draft day, the Eagles still are scheduled to have six picks in the 2023 draft, including two in the first round – theirs and the Saints’. Meanwhile, the Cowboys won’t get that reunion with former pass rusher Robert Quinn, at least not this week. Just as importantly, the Eagles can now back off the snaps for Haason Reddick, Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham a bit. Sweat is playing 64 percent of the snaps this season, up from 58 percent a year ago. He also once led the NFL in forced fumbles. Aside from Week 3 against the Washington Commanders, when the Eagles took down Carson Wentz nine times, the team has recorded just eight sacks in the other five games.
