NBA Odds: Miami Heat 2022-23 season win total prediction (ClutchPoints)

Miami heads into the 2022-23 season with high expectations. Here, we'll take a look at the Heat Over Under.

In the playoffs, his performance was one of the most disappointing factors in the Heat’s quest for a title. In 10 games, the veteran had just 7.8 points while shooting below 30% from the field and 25% on 3-pointers. His 3-and-D ability will be missed yet the Heat did not necessarily address this issue in the offseason. Bam Adebayo is becoming one of the best big men in the league. While his time on the court is limited, his locker room leadership is essential for the Heat. But perhaps the biggest X-factor for Miami’s success this season is the return of Udonis Haslem. The shooting guard had his best season as a pro, averaging 20.7 points on 45-40-87 shooting splits. Jimmy Butler is still one of the best two-way players in the league. Maybe the best storyline from the Heat’s 2021-22 season was the emergence of Tyler Herro. Can the Heat give Udonis Haslem a ring in his farewell season? Butler also had perhaps the best individual postseason campaign of his career. Still, the Heat has youngsters such as Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro who can lead the team in the future, but things will certainly be tougher once Butler leaves.

Miami Heat: Most important stat for Jimmy Butler in the 2022-23 NBA ... (All U Can Heat)

The Miami Heat will go as Jimmy Butler does, as they have since he arrived in South Florida. And he could help things go smoother by taking more threes.

That’s why this is his most important stat this season. However, the only thing that would separate him from LeBron right now is his ability to knock down the three-ball. And he could help things go smoother by taking more threes. He just has to actually take them. With that and with how well-rounded he’s been since coming to Miami, one of the best players in the league and a top-three player in the playoffs during both of the Miami Heat’s deep runs during his tenure, it’s hard to imagine what single stat might be the most important for the guy who could There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

The point guard, after struggling throughout the 2022 NBA playoffs, got another season off to a rocky start, going just 1 of 7 from the field and 0 for 5 on three-pointers. It took an unusually awful performance for Miami to drop its first game of the season at FTX Arena. In Game 1, it wasn’t enough for Miami to overcome its other issues — even with All-Star forward Jimmy Butler, guards Tyler Herro and Max Strus all playing at a high level.

The Miami Heat's new starting five could outperform last year's unit (Hot Hot Hoops)

Could a Lowry-Herro-Butler-Martin-Adebayo lineup shine bright? Let's dive into some film and make the case!

Offensively, however, instead of deploying Tucker in the corner for the entirety of the shot clock on 80-90 percent of the possessions, Spoelstra allowed him to play freely as a screener, cutter, hand-off initiator and post-playmaker. In this clip above, he creates a two on one advantage with Adebayo ahead of the trailing McCollum, putting Hernangomez in a pickle. Herro’s play this preseason and towards the tailend last year (when he was healthy) showed that vociferously. The second clip starts out with more of the same, though Martin’s controlled handle allows him to get deeper in the paint (notice he turned Williamson around?). Both Herro and Martin’s insertion into the lineup preemptively allows opponents to place their worst defender on Martin. Heading up on the opposing’s team most dynamic player is a challenge that Martin has been familiar with since arriving in Miami — but none as sturdy or as powerful as Williamson. Though Martin absorbed the contact, remained with Williamson through the step-thru and rejected his left-hand layup attempt. Tyler Herro was seen as the favorite at the starting 2-spot, competing with Victor Oladipo and Strus. It took a slight step back defensively, but was much more efficient on the offensive end in a smaller sample; it posted 135.2 points per 100 possessions (98th percentile) — compared to the former’s 111.1 points — unearthing a plus-16.5 NET Rating over 105 regular season possessions. No matter how the pie was sliced, the Heat were a tremendous pain in the butt to go up against each night, and you could never count them out, no matter who was on the floor. Then Robinson’s inconsistent shot and defensive struggles led to him falling out of the rotation all together, as they then leaned into a Lowry-Butler-Max Strus-Tucker-Adebayo quintet. Its calling card came on the defensive end, holding opponents to 98.2 points per 100 possessions (93rd percentile) and a 48.0 effective field goal percentage.

Miami Heat: 2 pros and 1 con from loss to Chicago in the season ... (Hoops Habit)

The Miami Heat got off to a hot start up until halftime, then it was all DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls in a 116-108 win in FTX Arena.

Foul trouble also plagued the Heat early on with Adebayo taking an early exit in the third after picking up his fourth foul. Once the lead amounted to 93-78, it all went downhill for Miami as they simply couldn’t stop They also had two costly mistakes in the last two minutes of the game at the hands of an aggressive defender in This will be key for the Heat in the playoffs if they are able to make a deep run once again. Martin finished the night with seven points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals before sitting out the final minutes in Miami’s sleek attempt at a comeback. Breaking out for quick back-to-back threes to start the game, Herro established himself early on leading the way as a floor general and finding great chemistry with Jimmy Butler on offense.

NBA Odds: Bulls-Heat prediction, odds and pick - 10/19/2022 (ClutchPoints)

The Chicago Bulls face the Miami Heat on the NBA's opening night. We continue our NBA odds series with a Bulls-Heat prediction and pick.

The Heat were 10th in Offensive Rating last season even if they were middle of the pack (17th) in points per game. They’ve made the playoffs in each of Jimmy Butler’s 3 seasons with the team. The Chicago Bulls (0-0) travel south to take on the Miami Heat (0-0) in their first NBA games of the season. The Heat dominated the Bulls in Miami last year. The Heat are a well-oiled machine through and through. 6th Man of the Year winner Tyler Herro (20.7 PPG), Butler (21.4 PPG), and Adebayo (19.1 PPG) carried the load offensively for a team that saw 7 players average at least 10 points per game. The Heat were 4th in total points allowed and held opponents to the 5th lowest field goal percentage and 2nd lowest 3-point percentage. DeRozan was incredible in clutch time last year – helping the Bulls win 65% of their close games in the first half. Look for DeRozan and 4th-year guard Coby White (12.7 PPG) to pick up the slack in LaVine’s absence tonight. They were tied for first in the Eastern Conference at the All-Star Break but fell apart in the second half of the season. In Chicago, the Heat won by 3 and 18. In Miami, the Heat won by 26 and 13.

Five Takeaways from Heat's Loss to Bulls (Five Reasons Sports Network)

The Miami Heat faced the Chicago Bulls in their season opener, and well, it didn't go as expected. They came out playing well out the gate, but that stalled quickly. The defensive lapses began to add up, as DeMar DeRozan continued to “heat” up.

That’s a question that has been asked all off-season, and the answer to that question has been Caleb Martin. On the Bam front, he was just missing easy buckets at the rim time and time again. For example, they want to mirror the minutes of Herro and Bam as much as possible. They went the Duncan Robinson route, and played him next to Strus for long stretches. Shortly after, as Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo created, the ball ended up swinging to Herro in the corner for a spot-up three. There was no doubt that Tyler Herro would be a focal point of the starting group’s offensive flow, but his usage was peaking to an even further degree early.
