Josh Naylor received a loud chorus of "Who's your daddy?" chants from the sellout Yankees crowd. He called it a 'dream come true.'
Naylor knew the Yankee fans would be ready with something and guessed it'd be the "Who's your daddy?" The fact that I got that going throughout the whole stadium, I think that was sick." "That was honestly like a dream come true as a kid. That was so sick," Naylor said with a smile. But Naylor had a blast being booed so loudly in the name of competition.
It was in response to Naylor making a “Rock the baby” motion after hitting a home run against Yankee ace Gerrit Cole in Game 4 at Progressive Field on Sunday.

In Game 4 of the ALDS, Cleveland Guardians slugger Josh Naylor hit a solo homer off Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, celebrating with an aggressive...
He wasn’t exactly dominant in the series himself but made a few key defensive plays to help his team. Torres finished the series with three hits and two walks across 19 at-bats, hitting .158 with a 23.8% on-base rate. Hopefully, the beers weren’t flowing too much, hindering their motor skills. Naylor ended up being a good sport about it, but Yankees’ second baseman Gleyber Torres returned the favor in a more aggressive manner. Now they can watch the game on TV tomorrow.” Naylor undoubtedly sparked a bit of hostility from Yankee fans, as they mocked him throughout the game.
I'm all for showing emotion in the MLB after a home run or any big moment. If there were a campaign about wearing one's emotions on their sleeve, ...
I am all about the energetic forearm bumps, shouting the phrase, “let’s go,” or even screaming a couple of cuss words in pure emotion because to me, it shows how much a player cares and fights to win. But if the hitter has one hit in 20 at-bats against the pitcher, he should grab a couple of high fives and get ready to go back in the field. If a hitter was batting .500 against the pitcher and hits one out, especially in the postseason, then go nuts. The second thought I had was, “Maybe we should throw at him the next at-bat.” The last thing I wondered about was what his statistics were against Cole that he felt the need to call him his, “fucking son.” However, I draw the line when it comes to how the player historically performs against the pitcher and how the game progresses. The first was that it was awesome — not his cradling, but having the city of Cleveland fired up behind you while celebrating a home run.
Cleveland Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor spent much of yesterday's Game 5 being taunted by New York Yankees fans--and even some players.
during the Yankees' 5-1 series-clinching victory yesterday. Naylor also said he had "no problem" with Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres doing the "rock the baby" immediately after recording the final out. Naylor called Cole his "son" as he rounded the bases, but New York fans returned the favor with chants of "Who's your daddy?"
