The trial of Darrell Brooks resumed Friday, Oct. 14 with immediate interruptions by the defendant, who is accused in the Waukesha Christmas parade tragedy.
He made multiple demands to the court, noting that he had requested certified copies of "everything." At that point, I thought it was a terror attack at the parade." He told the court he was working on the parade route when he heard over his radio the call for service for a domestic disturbance in Frame Park – which was east of his location. "I saw the driver come out and look at the front of the vehicle and yell," said Salyers. Scholten told the court he initially believed it was connected with the domestic incident. Salyers said he was with his family watching the parade near the southeast corner of Maple and Main. So, between listening to the radio microphone and parade, it was sort of hard to piece together. He testified that he attended the Waukesha Christmas Parade with his family – as a civilian. "I could see the vehicle was traveling faster," Liermann said. It seemed to me like he was excited about what he was doing," Liermann said. Brooks questioned this loudly – and the jury was escorted back out of the courtroom.

Moss was flagged down by a man who had spotted the smashed-up SUV parked in that driveway several blocks south of the parade route. As part of his investigation, Moss found paperwork in the vehicle tying it to Darrell E. But he denied that his description of the driver came from subsequent news reports. Scholten fired his gun at the driver, who drove off along West Avenue. He identified the driver as Brooks. Dorow briefly sent them away before admonishing Brooks and telling him he would have to participate in the proceedings from another courtroom if the interruptions continued.
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The court wrapped up the second week of the Waukesha Christmas Parade trial on Friday evening.
Wauwatosa Police Officer Ralph Salyers III was walking to his car after leaving the parade and unaware of what was happening on Main Street. "He stuck his head and actually like the upper portion of his body out the driver's window and looked back behind him," Liermann said. "I'm like an umpire in a baseball game, sir. Almost all of the state's witnesses testified about seeing a red SUV drive through the Waukesha Christmas Parade on Nov. "There was no panic. So, clearly something was wrong," Assistant Franklin Police Chief Craig Liermann said.
An incident report has been filed by Waukesha County deputies in connection to a situation they had with Darrell Brooks in the courtroom.
