“The Nevada State Democratic Party proudly and unapologetically calls for reparations and supports all efforts to deliver on America’s promise of true equality and enduring justice.” Perhaps the real criminals are in his orbit,” he added. “Senator Tuberville’s comments are flat-out racist, ignorant and utterly sickening,” Johnson said Monday in a statement. “Crime is top of mind for Americans due to soft-on-crime policies and progressive prosecutors in liberal cities,” he told The Post on Monday. “His comments are the most vicious, vile, repugnant, parochial, racist thing I’ve heard in a long, long time,” Mfume said on MSNBC. And until he says something different, he will always be seen as a bigot.” “Tommy Tuberville can go to hell, and let me tell you why,” Sellers said on CNN. While some Democratic leaders denounced criminal activity in response to the May 2020 death of George Floyd, a Black Minneapolis resident, Atkins argued that looting is a form of reparations. Byron Donalds (Fla.), one of the two Black Republicans in the House, defended Tuberville by suggesting that Ariel Atkins, a Black Lives Matter Chicago activist, shares the lawmaker’s view. “He is a bigot. As a result, some prominent Democrats have encouraged President Biden to sign an executive order that would create the commission. They want crime because they want to take over what you got.

In a speech at a rally in Nevada , hosted by former President Donald Trump, the freshman senator accused Democrats of being “pro-crime.”

Princeton Theological Seminary in 2019 pledged $27 million to address its own ties to slavery, which included using enslaved people on its property and relying on donations from slaveholders. Georgetown University, which sold 272 men, women and children in 1838 to near-certain death on Louisiana plantations, has pledged $100 million to address the fallout of its actions. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed legislation authorizing $20,000 in reparations to Japanese Americans forced into internment camps during World War II. Alabama slaveholders held about 45% of Alabama's residents in slavery in 1860. His record and respect of others speaks volumes about his integrity and character.” Tuberville’s office did not respond to two requests for comment, sent Saturday evening and Monday. “It’s this white nationalist appeal that hearkens back to a really dark time,” Jones said. Doug Jones, a Democrat who Tuberville defeated in 2020, said “this racist rant at a MAGA rally has to be called out.” In a video posted to Twitter Sunday evening, former U.S. Reparations are generally seen as efforts to repair the physical, psychological and social damage that slavery inflicted on Black Americans. “They want crime because they want to take over what you got. There would have been severe consequences when he was coaching, but not as U.S. Senator.

His platform to win a 2020 election for United States senator was that his Auburn teams used to regularly beat up on Alabama, and in 2004 they were screwed out of a chance to play USC for the national championship. But should he get around to this, here’s a quick lesson on reparations for alumni of Southern Arkansas, [which didn’t fully integrate until 10 years after his birth](https://web.saumag.edu/archives/archives/history/dates/), and also about the [Brown v. Without Jason Campbell, Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, and others winning those games in 2004 and receiving no pay, he never has the profile to become a senator, and it’s doubtful he ever makes millions of dollars. He wouldn’t be able to sell families that he was going to mold their son into a man. To even land a college job as good as head coach at Auburn — that ended with him getting a $5 million buyout after he quit — Tuberville had to build his resume coaching elsewhere. Also, he is a staunch Donald Trump supporter, and even voted against the certification of the 2020 presidential election. For those who might consider giving the former Auburn head football coach the benefit of the doubt that his statement didn’t call Black people criminals, he also later went on a classic dog whistle rant about food stamps.
