The LA Rams are facing a new challenge practically every week, and that is beyond the fact that the team's injuries continue to pile up.
The Rams only pass, and the Cowboys are one of the best passing defenses. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys will travel and play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, October 16, 2022, at 5:20 pm PT. The temperature at kickoff will hover on or about 75 degrees with cloudy skies and light winds out of the West/Southwest. The Rams appear to be struggling, and the Cowboys are getting better each week. That may not thrill fans, but until the team’s running becomes a viable threat, opponents will simply focus on defending WR Cooper Kupp. So far this season, the Cowboys have never allowed an opponent to score 20 or more points against them. If the Rams can establish their running game, this could be a huge day for RB Darrell Henderson Jr., whose dash to the outside is the perfect counterpunch to defeat the Cowboys’ love of getting after quarterbacks. While the Rams have been effective at stuffing the run this year, they will surely see plenty of running plays in this one. The Rams need this win. Of course, the Cowboys are struggling a bit on offense as well. To make matters worse, the LA Rams will not have the benefit of OC/RG Coleman Shelton this week, who will be out an estimated four to six weeks with a high ankle sprain. But their struggles coincide with the loss of starting quarterback Dak Prescott.

The Rams took back the lead on a 75-yard TD run by Kupp but not for long. Pollard had an explosive 57-yard TD run of his own to answer.
A wide open Higbee gets the catch for 9 yards and the 1st down to bring Rams to the Dallas 46. Cowboys at 4th and 2 now and they'll punt it back to the Rams. Akers finds the hole to get a 9-yard pickup and the 1st down. Stafford passed to Dixon and he got it for 12 yards and the Rams 1st down! That takes us to the end of the 1st quarter and it's 9-3 Dallas. Rams are in the lead with 9:31 to go in the 2nd quarter. The Rams though, faked it on 4th and 5 and Dixon got a pickup of 12 for the 1st down. Dallas held them to 4th down and the Rams didn't take the risk of a field goal, leaving the game with the Cowboys at a 16-10 lead going into halftime. Rush gave the ball to Lamb, who took off for 16 yards and on the next play, they got the score. The Cowboys were forced to kick a field goal instead of getting a TD. They're only able to get a field goal from that, but it's enough to give the Cowboys a 9-0 lead early in the 1st quarter. Then, Armstrong AGAIN makes a big play, blocking the punt and giving Dallas the ball right in Rams territory.

The teams agreed to swap late-round picks in the 2024 draft. [David Edwards](http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3917660/david-edwards) left the game in the fourth quarter for a concussion evaluation after colliding with Lawrence. The Rams' All-Pro defensive back never had a sack in his first 95 regular-season games and nine playoff contests. Kupp's brilliant catch-and-run is the only touchdown scored by the Rams in their past nine quarters of play, including back-to-back losses to San Francisco and Dallas. We started with a bang, and we ended with a bang.” With Rush going 10 for 16, the running game and the Cowboys' solid defense took charge. “It was a surreal moment,” Lawrence said of his second touchdown in nine NFL seasons.
The Dallas Cowboys pull of a not-so-pretty win over the LA Rams.
It was an unwelcome sight, but he got back on the field and came up with a sack of Stafford to help force a punt. What the Cowboys needed was a drive and hopefully points, but Lamb was unable to hang onto a ball that would have given them a first down. It was good to have a lead, but the comparative impotence of the Dallas offense was not great. For a change, the Cowboys got the ball to start the second half after winning the toss and deferring at the beginning. A holding call drawn by Parsons pushed them back, although it was clear Parsons was fighting pain to be on the field. Coming out of the slot, he got a step on Diggs and went untouched 75 yards for the touchdown and a one-point lead. It set the offense up for easy points, but Cooper Rush was wide on a third down throw to Dalton Schultz, and the Cowboys had to settle for a short field goal from Brett Maher. The defense held them out of the end zone and they also had to settle for three. The Cowboys managed to take a 16-10 lead into halftime, but it should have been a bigger lead. Then Armstrong showed up again, blocking the punt and returning it to the Rams’ 20. With the Dallas defense only having a couple of breakdowns all game, it was enough to get them to the win in a low scoring and at times rather unexciting game. If there was a theme to this game, it was an inability on both sides to sustain offensive drives through most of the game.
