WWE Extreme Rules 2022: Results, Bray Wyatt Return, Full Recap ... (CNET)

The White Rabbit is real. Bray Wyatt showed up at Extreme Rules after weeks of teasing a return.

Morgan set up a table inside the ring, but Rousey caught her with a knee to the face and choked Morgan on the ring ropes. Morgan set up a steel chair between the top and middle rope, then tried to slingshot Rousey into it. Rousey grabbed the baseball bat Morgan brought to the ring, but Morgan sprayed Rousey with a fire extinguisher. Kross beat down McIntyre with the strap for a while, then McIntyre Hulked Up and mounted a comeback. In among the most wince-inducing moments of the match, Bayley setup a ladder between the barricade and the ring steps on the outside, and laid Belair out on it. A ladder half was in the ring after snapping earlier in the match. Belair fell off the ladder and fell out of the ring. Early in the match she reprimanded a young fan for calling her a loser, and later on snatched a sign from a fan in the crowd. Ripley got two chairs from under the ring and set up a Conchairto on Phoenix, which got Edge to say "I quit". Balor had setup a chair between the top and middle ropes in the corner turnbuckle and tried to toss Edge into it. Riddle beat the count, and Riddle climbed up the cage to the platforms on its second level. The best match of the night was the "I Quit" Match between Edge and Finn Balor, which the latter won.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Results, Review, And Surprise Bray ... (GameSpot)

Here is everything you need to know about the WWE PPV as it airs on Peacock.

It's smart of WWE to just give us the confirmation and a taste of Wyatt for now, because Raw is not unmissable. And getting the return of the maskless Bray Wyatt is an excellent touch--though he does still have a mask some of the time, it seems, and it looks very inspired by the movie Black Phone. There was a lot of silliness in this match with all of the shenanigans, but it all absolutely worked for me. So far, this is my match of the night. And can we talk for a second about how into all of this the crowd was? It is the perfect finish for this match. Normally, I write a little here and there while the match was going on, but I was really just enjoying the match. These two are the goods and I Quit matches are often a blast. Mat: So the buildup to this match was Rousey calling Morgan "Hooters Barbie" a lot. What's especially great about this match is it's essentially a street fight and the ringside area was filled with potential weapons, but the action was largely just these six people smacking the crap out of each other. You can get the details of Wyatt's return to WWE and the results for every Extreme Rules match below. Anyway, this is the perfect way to kick off what looks like a show full of banger matches because it perfectly sets the tone for a wild night of action.

Bray Wyatt returns to WWE after white rabbit teases: Best memes ... (FanSided)

After the "white rabbit" teases across WWE live events and on television, it was revealed to be none other than the returning Bray Wyatt at Extreme Rules.

He won the Universal Championship twice as “The Fiend,” defeating Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel in 2019 and Braun Strowman in 2020. In 2017, he won the WWE Championship for the first time in his career, defeating Cena, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, and Baron Corbin in an Elimination Chamber match. Then, “10.8.22” and “Feed Your Head” flashed on the screen. Originally debuting on the main roster as Husky Harris, he transformed into “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt. Then, it was held by the masked figure, who revealed themselves to be Wyatt. The lights went out and a variety of Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse puppets took human form, and were scattered across Wells Fargo Center.

Bray Wyatt has a message for WWE fans at Extreme Rules (ClutchPoints)

After weeks of anticipation, Bray Wyatt officially returned to the WWE Universe at Extreme Rules, and he has a message for the fans.

No, in the end, Wyatt’s month-long mystery paid off in the perfect way, and fans of professional wrestling the world over watched with glee as Levesque righted one of his father-in-law’s most glaring mistakes. [White Rabbit clues](https://clutchpoints.com/wwes-triple-h-delivers-two-new-white-rabbit-clues/) weren’t some sort of swerve, it didn’t end up being related Karrion Kross, or Aleister/Malakai Black, or any other alternative plan, and the company didn’t deliver some half-you-know-what’d attempt to keep the mystery going for the sake of social media interactions. And in the end, the segment closed with Wyatt, wearing a devil mask, emerging from the cabin with a giant blue lantern, taking off his mask, and declaring “

Bray Wyatt pays off WWE's White Rabbit teases with epic Extreme ... (New York Post)

Bray Wyatt proved to be the “White Rabbit” and is back in WWE after returning at Extreme Rules on Saturday.

It was the payoff to weeks of speculation and clues after WWE started playing Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” with the lights out or flashing red – similar to those used by Wyatt’s “Fiend” character at live events and some commercial breaks at Raw and SmackDowns. The door in the arena was then shown and opened to a blue light. As the crowd started to buzz a door appeared and a video package of a ransacked Firefly Funhouse was shown as its theme music played.

Bray Wyatt Makes Long-Awaited Return at Extreme Rules (Sports Illustrated)

The star was released in July 2021, but his exciting reintroduction Saturday adds more intrigue and anticipation to WWE.

That is the type of finish that makes complete sense in MMA, but it is a reach in pro wrestling, especially considering it was only moments later that Morgan was in the ring smiling as Rousey walked off with the belt. This was also the most surprising finish of the night. It was an entertaining match, and it is refreshing to see the renewed emphasis on the importance of the Intercontinental title, though it failed to meet the masterpiece both men created last month in He ended the match by making Rollins tap, and it appeared the show was set to go off the air until the lights went out, leading to the return of Wyatt. She didn’t quit or tap, but the referee awarded the match to Ronda Rousey when Morgan could not respond on whether she could still continue. In addition to the surprise, WWE dusted off seemingly all the quintessential gimmicked matches at Extreme Rules.

Bray Wyatt's return makes up for some questionable WWE choices ... (New York Post)

Matt Riddle defeated Seth Rollins in the Fit Pit main event, leaving you wondering what's next for the Original Bro, who has already lost a match to Roman ...

It got off to a weird start with Kross refused to put on his end of the strap in the early potion of the match. While I’d rather keep more of a sense of invincibility around imperium, having the babyface Brutes win in a fun opening match made a lot of sense to get the crowd into it. Expect more encounters from these three, especially with the controversial finish to Sheamus and Gunther’s Intercontinental championship match on Friday. His music got a bit of an ominous remix and the Prince wore a spiked-filled black mask to the ring. Imperium appeared to have the match won following plenty of chaos after Gunther hit Sheamus over the head with a sheleighleigh, but the Celtic Warrior kicked out. Outside of the mask reveal feeling similar to what we saw from MJF at All Out, it was well done and got a huge pop from the crowd in Philly. It took a long time to get there but this added a new level of viciousness to The Judgment Day and Balor. Phoenix came into the ring from the crowd to finally go at it with Ripley. She ended up delivering the move to Bayley on the ladder as she flipped over. Riddle delivered an RKO and then once Rollins fell off back into the ring the Original Bro hit a Floating Bro for the moment of the bout before getting the win. Rollins hit a buckle bomb into the corner and then a stomp. It gave the babyface the win in a feud that turned very personal but didn’t leave me needing to see another Fit Pit match.
